Do you have any resources for Bactrian women’s clothing from the time around Alexander’s invasion? It seems like you’ve tried searching before, but I’m asking in case you’ve found something. I have nooooo idea where to find references.

Hey sorry I had no idea I had messages. Not really unfortunately there is a plaque in the Miho Museum in Japan from Afghanistan that depicts Bactrian ladies on a city wall from around that time but they're really tiny and stylized. From the assumption that Bactria was a way bigger part of the Achaemenid empire and sphere of influence than Greek sources understood, I usually use Achaemenid women's cloths sources like the Pazyryk Carpet and some cylinder seals

I found a book called Roxana Romance and it's an 800 page book about Alexander the Great's conquest written from Roxana's POV by a Iranian author and I'm literally bouncing off the walls, this hole was made for me, we have Roshanak wrecking Artabazos for being a traiter we have Artabazos being pissed while translating the marriage contract because he thought Alexander was going to marry Barsine we've got acknowledgement of Staeira/Seterah Darius's wife pregnancy and death we've got a 10 page prologue about the Mesopotamian gods I'm shaking trembling

I need to figure out what kind of combo of writing and drawing I can use to release my ancient gay soldiers story out into the world. They live in one of the upper Satrapy Alexandria's in the 310s BC and work in palace security. After one of them is kidnapped by the current enemy du jour, the other realizes he care about them more than just a colleague, rescues him, and then they have a romantic comedy together.

I stayed up late with my phone in airplane mode so I could finish Alexander's Veterans on Hoopla before my service ended because my library ended it (turns out I could continue reading the book until it returns in 2 weeks, I just can never borrow more books).

Now I can make the most historically accurate two soldiers in love in ancient Archosia story ever. Read some great material about the dinner Peucestas threw with Eumenes and others.
