But then you heard the sound of notification... But it can probably wait untill tomorrow! You've done enough and you still have work soon so you need some good rest!

Your eyes finally closed and soft sleep embraced you without single worry in your head...

And you held yourself to that promise! Once the sun rised, you immidietly reached for your phone and your heart freezed... you saw a message from "anonymous" and normally, you'd think it's a joke...

You immediately switched to contact Heizou, hoping it's not too late yet!

This somehow made your heart sink... you were definitely too late to help Inazuma and Heizou but now you need to help other regions too...

You wish you could see Teyvat's map so you could figure out who you'll have to deal with soonest or try figuring the pattern on your own. But for now, you might just try getting some more informations about this whole situation and person they's causing it.

Once you finally came back home, you realized you completely forgot to check what the box Heizou have you had inside! So despite feeling tired, you opened the box to find there a small camera...

You inspected it and found out it's still recording! Meaning person who's watching from the other side can see you! You quickly covered camera with tape and plugged it into your laptop, trying to take control over it.

Luckily for you, you swiftly managed to do just that! You didn't secure it yet since for now you just wanted to know more about how it got into Teyvat since this certainly looked like camera from your world...

You finally sat down relieved, seeing that camera was still under your control. You placed your hands on keyboard and tried tracking location of previous source.

It didn't had any securing which make it very easy. Too easy... you ended up minimap of specific location in Teyvat. It told you almost nothing so you did screenshot on your laptop and took photo of the screen with your phone, just in case.

It was weird how it had no protection so you scanned tour laptop for any viruses while you sent Heizou the map you managed to get your hands on.

After that, you flopped on your bed, ready to fall asleep. Your eyes closed immidietly as you felt the wave of tiredness taking over you. You were just falling asleep...

PING!

But then you heard the sound of notification...

Both you and Heizou entered a nice restaurant, immidietly ordering something to drink and a nice sweet to chat along and answer each other's questionss.

H▹"So! I can't help but notice how... easily you agreed to meet up in completely unknown world. Of course, I really appreciate your cooperation! But what if I was up to no good?"

You quickly realized you're still on his suspicion list despite all the talking. It might be good to clear yourself once and for good. Especially since you have some questions of your own.

Y/N▹"I really care about Aether and Lumine. They helped me a lot in my world... I'd go as far as to say they saved my life so now it's time for me to repay them. They're like a family for me by now."

Heizou kept an eye contact for a little more while before he took a sip of his drink and nod.

H▹"Alright. You have my trust for now."

You gave a nod in return, satisfied from the answer you got.

H▹"Now... I believe you may have question of your own. Why won't we... take turns asking questions?"

Y/N▹"Sounds fair. Well... do you have any clues onto what might've happened to Aether?"

H▹"Not any clues so far... but I do have my ideas. I'm guessing it may have something to do with his sister. I highly doubt he was kidnapped judging from his skills..."

Y/N▹"Heh, yeah... he'd probably escape by now if that was the case."

H▹"My turn. Did Aether had his more... murderous or terrorist side?"

Y/N▹"Oh no, Aether is pure sweetheart really! Though Lumine could be a bit scary sometimes..."

H▹"Was Aether scared of her?"

Y/N▹"Maybe? But it was more of a sibling relationship, I'd say. Nothing serious."

H▹"I see. Well that's 2 questions in a row for you."

Y/N▹"How dangerous is this world?"

H▹"As I mentioned, we do have monsters here so it is rather dangerous. Not to add... war happening in Natlan now..."

Y/N▹"War? Is this by these bad guys? They were called something on 'f' I think..."

H▹"You must mean 'Fatui'. But I doubt it was them. From what I heard, Natlan was attacked by monsters with weird aura... no one had the chance to inspect it so that's all I know."

Y/N▹"Could Aether end in Natlan?"

H▹"I highly doubt it. Now 2 questions for me..."

He pretended to think hardly of his next question by bringing his hand to his chin. Though it was quickly replaced with small smirk as he looked your way.

H▹"What's your favorite sweet?"

Y/N▹"Huh?! Wait... shouldn't you ask something Aether-related?"

H▹"It's not your turn to ask questions, is it? Now answer mine!"

He said with a soft smile, so all you could do was give a small sigh and answer his question.

Y/N▹"It's [fav sweet]... Now may I know what this information has to do with your case?"

H▹"Almost nothing. I simply wanted to know you better nad hopefully get some tension off. No need to make this meeting only business related. We could just... get to know each other!"

You hesitantly nodded, finding his words both kind and a little bit hard to believe.

Though apparently you worried about nothing! All he wanted to do was certainly only getting to know each other. It's like Aether never disappeared and the two of you were just friends hanging out.

With time, your conversations even became more casual and confident, joking around and even jokingly flirting with each other! It was almost hard to believe how fast the time flied...

The day finally arrived. The day when you were supposed to visit Teyvat.

You made preparations yesterday so it was pretty swift to travel into another wrold. It was certainly a new feeling but you could get used to that.

You ended in place with cherry blossoms around and decided to go into the city as that's where your phone was showing Heizou is.

But when you were literally at the same spot as he and looked around, you just couldn't find him for some reason! Maybe it's that the map on your phone isn't as detailed or that you can't zoom in that much... but still, he has pretty unique features so you should notice him immediately!

After few minutes of waiting and looking around tho, you decided to text him and figure out where he was.

H▹"Forgive me, I just couldn't help but confuse you a bit!"

You looked up from your phone to see no one else than claret hair detective. He was wearing small smug with could only tell you that he was avoiding you for some reason...

Y/N▹"Were you really purposely avoiding me?"

H▹"Yes, but not because I didn't wanted to talk with you! I just thought your confused expression might be worth seeing!"

Y/N▹"So you did that on our first meeting? You're certainly... something."

H▹"Not JUST our first meeting but also most likely last. Might as well make the most of it!"

Y/N▹"I'm just here to collect the thing you found, you know that?"

H▹"Right, right. Here you go. I kept it safe."

He handed you small box which you gladly took and was about to open it to check it when he stopped you.

H▹"Ah-ah, we're in public. It'd be better if we go somewhere more secure with it. We don't want any witnesses."

You nodded. He was somehow right about that... Guess he's just being caucious so both of your work won't go to waste."

H▹"I know pretty nice place! We could order something and you can also inspect the inside there."

Y/N▹"Why do I feel like you're inviting me there just to make me stay here longer?"

H▹"That's part of the truth, yes. I'd also like to talk about few informations you see. It's easier to ask right questions in person."

Y/N▹"Just say you're gonna use psychology on me from now on."

H▹"As you wish! You're gonna be professionally interrogated!"

He said that with a smirk, telling you easily it was just another joke of his so you chuckled lightly.

Y/N▹"I hope you're aware I didn't brought money with me."

H▹"Well I hope you know that I don't mind paying for pretty girl/boy like you!"

You chuckles and playfully hit his arm. You just met but somehow he was already like your best friend. Maybe it was just him pretending? Or maybe it really just clicked between you two?

Well now you're going on free meal and you can't really say no to that! You admired the city too as he lead the way, telling you about few specials and what to expect at your destination.

A bit before 5pm you got another text from Heizou. You quickly checked it out since you literally couldn't find anything related to Aether's and Lumine's disappearing among your old messages.

The fact you also changed messages color to math the next pfp you set for him catched you a bit off guad... you know it'd be noticable but your brain just couldn't take it not matching for some reasons.

But now that he was.. well... definitely tried sending you photos of the device he found... it all just made you laugh. You figured he wouldn't be good at it be since he doesn't have much technlogoy there at Teyvat but he sent you like 50 pictures and every was shaky or covered by his finger. Some photos also included his face or when the phone fell on the phone fell on the floor! Claiming for them to be "mistake".

You finally decided to put a stop to it, seeing how he just couldn't take normal picture, even if he tried his best.

You honestly didn't knew now if it was that inside feeling of wanting to see him with your eyes or if it really was just for the sake of seeing that camera-alike thing he found. Maybe a bit of both?

But that shouldn't be your worry... your worry should be that you're supposed to be at Teyvat in 17 hours and you have absolutely no idea where to start.

You had to pack yourself and remember how Aether with Lumine teached you how to travel between worlds.

So now, you're getting small bag to carry essential things and get ready to travel to Teyvat the next day! It's just getting the item that detective found but you seem to find that little adventure oddly exciting... as if something would happen there. Not necessarily something but but certainly something important...

Well you won't know untill you get there so might as well pack your things, get ready and get some good sleep!

The day passed since you last spoken to this newly met detective and now, it was weekend for you! You were honestly not only bored but also worried about Lumine and Aether.

That's when you remembered you can at least try hacking into some camera's or databases, or whatever in this Teyvat! So without second thought, you just reached for your phone and started conversation.

You were a bit hesitant but it was him inviting you to check how he looks! And he even posed for you?! You curiosity was at it's peak and there was no changing that. So with swift movement you grabbed your keyboard and got into webcam of this phone.

And you met with boy with green eyes, each having one birthmark under. His claret hair was tied in ponytail and as for his expression... he was literally winking at the camera and sticking his tongue out slightly!! But it seems like even he couldn't take it for too long because he began to laugh at his own actions.

You were honestly surprised at both: the fact it's not just some Aether's joke and the fact he was actually good looking!

You were so grateful for that honestly. You're pertty sure he's doing that for the sake of his case but it just made you feel like small act of service was sent your way.

But what's even moreimportant... you took a screenshot of his face! Those were really emotions and you'd probably delete it later but... you decided to just put it as his pfp so you'd know who you're talking to! But who knows? Maybe there was more to that act?

For now tho, you could just wait for Heizou to bring you back some news as you went through your old conversations with Aether and Lumine, hoping to find some clue.

Today's work hours were passing way too slow for your liking honestly. You were constantly thinking of the questions too... you were a bit worried they'd ask something too personal or something that'd make everything awkward.

Luckily for you tho, all your worries were washed away when the moment came. You settled in your bed with some comfort snack next to you, so you could keep your stress at lowest point possible.

And from that little comfort base of yours, you finally decided to let the other person know you're ready...

Conversation wasn't the most interesting, questions were boring... but at least small chat's between them were fun! You somehow trusted them and treated them as your friend. Was it the fact that they still had Aether as their profile and name? Well... it didn't really matter because they seemed pretty cool.

You could drop risky sarcasting line and luckily, they'd get it and even drop small matching joke! Or you could suddenly drop small teasing text and they'd have comeback ready, leaving you slightly flustered as well!

As for questions... they were pretty basic. They just wanted to know how siblings behaved in your world, what did they do, did they have troubles, enemies, etc, etc...

You answered all of them truthfully of course! Not wanting to make finding your friend any harder than necessary.

You ended chat a bit embarrassed... you realized by now that this detective was indeed pretty laidback and seemed to like your little humorous conversation. Yet, you couldn't brush off the feeling for a while...

Once you calmed down a bit tho, you decided to finally put your skills to use and force changing of pfp and name on this account. Just to make it easier for sleepy you to realize who you're talking to.

So you deleted the profile pictire and changed name to "Shikanoin Heizou", not wanting to come with any nicknames. For now at least~

These messages honestly got you only more worried. You wanted to ask more questions and exchange some answers with that Heizou but it was obvious that your work was in the way so you choose to do that later, with clean mind.

For now, you just decided to play your games, slack off as much as you can and maybe think of possible questions from person you just talked to. Maybe you could also ask them few questions of your own while you're at it? After all it's disappearence of your dearest friends they're dealing with.

You were sitting in your office. You've already finished all the work assigned to you but decided to pretend as if you're still busy to not get additional work. Mostly you spent this time on playing games and looking through some socials.

When you were lost in making sure no one catches you, you got a notification on your phone! You quickly checked it and it turned out that was from... Aether?!

Aether was your old friend who once crossed your world with his sister, Lumine. You gave both of them few phones so you can keep in touch but they weren't really talking to you that often... in fact Lumine stopped first and few weeks later, so did Aether. That's why this message kind of surprised you.

But you couldn't mind! You liked talking to them, plus it may be something urgent so you quickly checked out the message.

This honestly felt a little weird... It could've been another of Aether's silly jokes but then again, he wouldn't play it so well, would he? It's not his style of responding either and it always gave it away, no matter how hard he tried to spook you.

And then again... who's this Shikanoin Heizou? Is this someone from Teyvat, world Aether went to with his sister right after yours? If so you know few names but this one definitely doesn't ring a bell.

Well maybe you shouldn't overthinking and just answer? It may just happen you catch Aether red handed in the end after all!
