A little concept art of how I imagine Mia Lara Kent to look like, incorporating both Kryptonian and Amazonian clothing together in homage of her parents. I also have not the slightest clue on how to color well so... yeah! Cir-El of this world is an amalgamation of Cir-El and Lara Kent from TDKR’s.

p.s. she does indeed have a pony tail and I imagine her hair to be a dark blue.

The World of Superman: His Super Friends and Family PT.1

Kryptonian Members

Kara Zor-El: The cousin of Superman, Kara Zor-El landed on Earth 30 years later than Kal-El due to debris from Krypton sending her ship off course. Due to this and the make of the ships onboard stasis, Kara remained unaging on her journey to Earth. When she arrived however Kal-El would take it upon himself to help his cousin adapt to life on Earth where they would build a sibling like relationship as Kara was taken in by the Kent's as one of their own. Upon taking on the House of El sigil just as her adopted brother Kal-El, Kara would become known as Supergirl in her teen years before adopting the moniker; Powergirl.

Jor-El II: Named after his Kryptonian grandfather, Jordan Kent is one of Clark’s twin boys. A rather shy and anxious kid, Jordan is the quieter one of the two harboring limited Kryptonian abilities showing the limits human genes put on hybrids. Jordan while not as shining as his more out there brother still cares greatly for those around him and has an aptitude for science among other things.

Jon-El: Jonathan is named after his human grandfather and is the much more louder of the two boys, the golden boy if you will. Seemingly being more gifted than Jordan, Jonathan is more of an out there heart of gold kid who enjoys sports and getting rough n messy. While not having a knack for science like his brother Jonathan does have a knack for machines and tends to help out on the farm whenever his mother needs him.

Kon-El: A clone born of combining the DNA of both Superman and Lex Luthor, Kon-El would be found alongside his “sister” Cir-El in Project Cadmus’ secret laboratory under the name Project Kr where Cadmus’ scientists were attempting to create metahuman Kryptonian clones in an effort to destroy or replace Superman should he perish or turn against mankind. Kon-El would receive his Kryptonian name from his father and his human name from his friends on the Teen Titans, Conner Kent. In time, Kon-El would take on the mantle of Superboy alongside the House of El sigil. Due to Kon’s half human parentage and genetic modification, his meta-gene has yet to activate limiting him to weaker levels as well as limited levels of a pure blooded Kryptonian’s abilities. It was for this reason his “younger sister” Cir-El was made half Amazonian to counteract this power issue.

Cir-El: A clone born of combining the DNA of both Superman and Wonder Woman, Cir-El would be found alongside her “brother” Kon-El in Project Cadmus’ secret laboratory under the name Project Kr where Cadmus’ scientists were attempting to create metahuman Kryptonian clones in an effort to destroy or replace Superman should he perish or turn against mankind. Given the earthling name Mia Lara Kent and her Kryptonian name Cir-El, she would take up the mantle of Supergirl II after receiving her aunt Kara’s blessing. Cir-El is the genetically engineered child of Wonder Woman and Superman, the reason being due to the genetic complexity of the Kryptonian genome resulting in Cir-El’s older brother Kon being limited in his Kryptonian abilities due to his half human nature. With Cir-El being half Amazonian, she sports boosted abilities of that of a Kryptonian including the activation of her meta-gene which is divine in nature due to Wonder Woman’s DNA thus allowing Cir-El a higher resistance to magic, the ability to summon, manipulate, absorb and redirect lightning, as well as talk to animals.

Krypto: A normal wolf that was altered by meta-tar to have super strength and durability comparable to Superboy, Krypto was named by the Titans and adopted by Kon-El & M’gann M’orzz.

Kem-El: A Kryptonian AI, he is programmed to stop crime and protect Kal-El, even with excessive force. He created the Fortress of Solitude as a means to revive Kal-El, returning to the Fortress to charge his body with ion rays to accelerate Kal-El's recovery following his battle with the monstrous Doomsday.

Lor-Zod: The birth son of General Zod and his lieutenant Faora-Ul, Lor-Zod is the Red Son of Russia, the Ultraman. Lor-Zod’s pod landed in a Ukrainian collective farm in Soviet, Ukraine. There Lor-Zod is immediately taken in and recognized as an alien with advanced powers and abilities that will be used for the greater good of the country growing up as a Soviet citizen, the “Soviet Superman” is a good person who dedicates his abilities to the safeguard of Soviet citizens. His origins of how he survived Krypton’s destruction is similar to that of Kal-El’s but where as Kal-El was sent to Earth on purpose, Lor-Zod arrived by mere chance as the young Kryptonian was born on the Black Zero ship where following Krypton’s destruction it was damaged with a portion of it being the debris containing Lor-Zod that crashed on Earth years later.

Thara Ak-Var: An Argonian survivor, Thara Ak-Var goes by the moniker of Matrix. She is the last daughter of Argo, Krypton’s sister planet who managed to survive in stasis until help arrived in the form of Lor-Zod who traveled amongst the stars for a time to witness the remnants of Krypton. Being saved by Lor-Zod brought the two close together, and upon returning to Earth Thara and Lor-Zod had begun a relationship with one another. She protects and rules the Soviet nation alongside Lor-Zod, and their Kryptonian AI Brainiac that has been programmed to protect the two Kryptonian’s similarly to Kal-El’s own Kem-El. Thara is unique in that she is a meta-kryptonian, one who posses the ability of projecting, manipulating, absorbing and controlling fire of all kinds that even extends to her solar absorption ability being augmented higher than the conventional Argonian and Kryptonian.

Val-Vex: A fellow survivor of Krypton, Calvin Ellis is a member of the House of Vex. He like many others succeeded in fleeing Krypton before its destruction and landed on Earth shortly after Kal-El had where he was found by the Ellis family. Raised to stand up for himself no matter the odds, and to fight for what's right, Calvin would come to become a close confidant and friend to Kal-El when the latter emerged as the Man of Tomorrow. He in time would also run for President against Lex Luthor and won, being able to aide in affairs using his costumed identity and public for the greater good.

The Superman Mythos: Krypton, Kryptonians, and... Darkseid? PT.2

Krypton: Krypton, home to a race of beings that host the universes greatest organic power storage units within their cells known as the Kryptonians, is the well known home of Superman and other Kryptonians. A proud peoples, the Kryptonians were fairly highly advanced in all aspects of their society and culture to the point of collapse. Long gone were the days of natural childbirth, as were the days of Krypton itself. Despite their advanced nature, Kryptonians never left their home world but a hand full of times ages ago during Krypton’s golden age which resulted in Krypton’s sister world Argo being colonized and Daxam a fellow world of Krypton similar to Earth’s own Mars. Krypton itself,  chose to become an isolationist planet out of fear following the attack by Brainiac, their first alien contact aside from the natives of Daxam and Darkseid himself. Brainiac, taking an interest in Krypton stole the capital of Kandor months prior to Darkseid’s destruction of Krypton. Following the expansion in Krypton’s golden age and the encounter with Brainiac bringing it to an end, the Kryptonians garnered the attention of the New God Darkseid, of Apokolips. Thus beginning the Darkseid War, the New God seeking to trap the Kryptonians on their home world to die with their world as he felt their advanced civilization served as a threat to the New Gods rule among the cosmos. Argo and Daxam were spared in the conflict, as they had long ago split from Krypton who in later years began to lose contact with their old outpost worlds due to the war. Whether it be fate or mere chance, Darkseid’s final strike would merely ensure Krypton’s destruction due to Darkseid establishing an outpost on world which began mining Krypton’s already unstable uranium core. Only a handful of Kryptonians were saved that day, whether it was through imprisonment or immigration to a new world, both were lucky to even be alive.

Kryptonian Culture: Kryptonian Culture was fairly similar to the indigenous people of Mexico, Africa and even Greece respectively as for advancing as far as they had they stayed true to their roots from when they started millennia ago. Much of Krypton’s structures and technology were of a bio technologically advanced crystalline engineering that allowed them to seamlessly engineer and interact in vastly any environment as long as water was around before taking root. Each crystal being grown from a primary source that responded solely to the head of their respective houses unless stated otherwise. Much like the aforementioned similarities to Maya, African and Grecian culture, Kryptonian’s built mega structures in the forms of temples, pyramids, spires etc. All for both practicality and in respect of their gods.

The Rao-Orthodox Pantheon contains 14 major deities, 211 demigods, and 1402 titans. There were many more ancient gods, whose worship ended after a flood, though the figures were still used in folklore, stories and the arts.

Kryptonian society mainly places its values on arts, science, military might, and theology, strictly dividing its citizens into the five respective guilds. All citizens were placed into guilds upon birth. 

The Military Guild - Governs all forms of martial power and military might on the planet and serves as the backbone of Kryptonian conquering authority. It maintains the martial glory of Krypton.

The Science Guild - Governs most forms of technology and science on the planet and houses the race's most ingenious minds. The guild is decried as emotionless but has contributed to the race being being a mighty technological power

The Artists Guild - Governs all forms of art, design, and creativity and believes the most strongly in the religions of the Krypton besides the Religious Guild.

The Religious Guild - The most secretive and reclusive of the guilds which serves as the absolute religious authority on Krypton. The guild is governed by priests which represent all Kryptonian Gods, each in turn representing a guild.

The Labor Guild - Keeps the planet functions running, taking on all and any manual jobs and ordered to serve all the other guilds. They are commonly the unseen masses of Kryptonians that are often overlooked and looked down upon as second class citizens by the other guilds. To further the point, they lack any guild representation. and have no say in society affairs.

Determining of which guild a Kryptonian was placed in was due to the parent unit that was seeking to expand their family by the codex of Krypton that housed all of Krypton’s genetic potential, and as such added to Krypton’s own downfall in the end due to a lack of real free will.

The houses of Krypton are as follows: House of El, scientists and engineers pioneering tomorrow ; House of Zod, the ruthless warriors and protectors of Krypton, House of Vex, the lawmakers and a political powerhouse known for being secretive and manipulative; and lastly House Em, who are devout servants of the Kryptonian sun God Rao.

Kryptonian Bodies: Solar Houses!

Kryptonian Physiology: Kryptonian cellular structure is much more dense, resilient, and biologically more effective than human tissue. Kryptonians do however possess superhuman strength levels even without their cellular structure charged with yellow solar energy but to a much lesser extent. Without such charging, their physical capabilities are limited to their enhanced senses and sight with a certain degree of super strength depending on their respective height and weight. As an alien, Kryptonians possesses several organs whose functions are not yet disclosed or understood but are believed to be part of or the source of their bio matrix force field and reclamation aura. Kryptonian bodies also store energy actively within their bio-cellular matrix as an energy pattern that is linked to their body's electromagnetic field. This energy powers most of their electromagnetic capabilities such as flight, heat vision and supplementing their physical abilities to superhuman levels.

Superhuman Senses: All Kryptonian's senses are heightened to superhuman levels.

Solar Radiation Absorption: Kryptonian cells function like a super battery, hyper metabolizing specific wavelengths of radiation as fuel to enable superhuman abilities. Different wavelengths of radiation have different effects on Kryptonian physiology and well being, but their cells cannot absorb or utilize all types of radiation. The wavelength of their home solar system's red sun enables their body to function as repressed versions of their charged states; while Earth's solar radiation in its filtered state through the Earth's atmosphere acts as fuel to enable all of their powers. Every time a Kryptonian uses any of their superhuman abilities, their body utilizes absorbed sunlight and is capable of utilizing any of them to various degrees through controlled circumstances. The constant exposure to proven "healthy" radiation sources is not required for them to live and utilize their powers, but prolonged periods without exposure to them and/or utilizing their powers will require Kryptonians to recharge in order to live and continue using their powers.

Enhanced Strength: The exact limits of a Kryptonian’s strength are unknown, but different periods and intensities of exposure to Earth's solar radiation can cause their strength to fluctuate over time.

Enhanced Speed: A Kryptonian is capable of moving, reacting, running and flying at superhuman speeds. While not as fast as the Flash or other experienced Speedsters, Kryptonians can still move at speeds on par with a novice Speedster.

Enhanced Stamina: Kryptonians have the ability to maintain continuous physical actions for an undefined period. They’ve been shown to have unlimited stamina if consistently exposed to yellow sunlight, though they still prefers to sleep like a normal human as their mind can suffer the effects of sleep deprivation.

Flight: Kryptonians are capable of defying gravity and flying at supersonic speeds in a planetary atmosphere and possibly faster while in space.

Ocular Heat Emission (Heat Vision): Kryptonians can fire beams of intense heat from their eyes. These beams can be made invisible, allowing them to work undetected, but when fired at full-strength the effect is displayed as an intense red burst from their ocular cavities.

Invulnerability: A Kryptonian’s body is nigh-invulnerable due to their super humanly dense cellular and anatomical structure as well as their radiating bio-electrical aura. Kryptonians under some circumstances, are resistant or immune to different forms and levels of lacerations, blunt force trauma, energy-based assaults, falls from great heights, explosions, the cold void of space, toxins and all known diseases on Earth. Their supercharged bio-electric "aura" acts as an invisible "force field" radiating within a few millimeters from their skin. Kryptonians can willfully utilize their aura strengthening its power to a greater degree to provide an additional defense against certain levels of physical and energy attacks for a considerably short period of time, but doing so can endanger them should the attempted feat prove inefficient for any reason. A Kryptonian can utilize their aura by expanding it around a person(s) or object(s) to enable their structural stability when lifting or traveling with them. Their invulnerability has been in a constant flux dependent on their levels of solar absorption.

Intense Lung Capacity: Kryptonians can create hurricane force winds by blowing, and also chill their breath to freeze a target. They can also breathe in large amounts of air to dispel clouds of gas by exhaling it.

Hearing: Kryptonians have the ability to expand their hearing range, giving them the ability to hear sounds before the sound waves actually reach them. This also gives them incredible hearing at extreme variances of sound and pitch frequency, allowing them to pick up noises from across the globe. They have also shown enough control to block out ambient sounds to focus on a specific source/frequency.

Smell: On various occasions, Kryptonians have demonstrated that their sense of smell is significantly enhanced to the point they can smell odors from up to a mile away.

Electromagnetic Spectrum Vision: Kryptonians can see into all of the EM Spectrum. They can see and identify radio/television and any and all broadcast/transmitted frequencies, allowing them to avoid detection through radar or satellite monitoring methods.

Telescopic Vision: The ability to focus their vision to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics.

Microscopic Vision: The ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the sub atomic level.

Ocular X-Ray Emission (X-Ray Vision): The ability to see through anything except lead. Since it is passive, this ability would not generate harmful radiation in the same manner as a focused projection of hard X-rays.

Thermal Vision: The ability to see through the heat tracks left by a living being or object.

Solar Flare: A Kryptonians ability to immediately expel all of their stored solar energy in one gigantic burst of explosive force. This Solar Flare utilizes all the stored energy within their cells at once, allowing for an all out attack.They cannot use it more than once or twice however, as it drains them of all their powers, including their normally enhanced abilities with the exception of their enhanced senses and sight until they can recharge their cells with solar energy. Give or take 24 hours, in that expanse of time, they are rendered virtually human and vulnerable.

Weaknesses

Vulnerability to Magic: A Kryptonian's bio matrix is their most powerful asset, but the strength of this field is also its greatest weakness. Its permeability to certain wavelengths makes them vulnerable to certain radiations, particularly magical energies whose chaotic electromagnetic or extra dimensional signatures disrupt this force field. Kryptonian's vulnerability to magic varies depending upon the special effects of the magic. Magic can have powerful and unpredictable effects on a Kryptonian, certainly making it one of the deadliest weaknesses.

Vulnerability to Kryptonite: Since the destruction of Krypton, its remains (rendered radioactive by the explosion) have been spreading throughout the universe as Kryptonite, a crystalline substance whose specific radioactive wavelength is lethal to Kryptonians. The most common form of Kryptonite is Green Kryptonite, and its effect is directly poisonous to them.

Lead: Kryptonians cannot see through lead with their x-ray vision powers.

Solar Energy Dependency: A Kryptonian’s abilities will eventually weaken without replenishing their energy reserves with normal (yellow) sun radiation, especially if they don’t have any direct contact with yellow sunlight. When exposed to the same red solar radiation as Krypton's red sun Rao, it causes a Kryptonian to lose their enhanced powers with a large amount of exposure. Exposure to yellow sunlight will reverse this effect.

High-Pitched Noises: Because of their super hearing, A Kryptonian's ears are extra-sensitive to extreme noises.

Psionics: A Kryptonian's mind is vulnerable to psionic effects like any other.

Respiration: Even Kryptonians need to breathe.

The Meta Gene interaction with Kryptonians

The Meta-Gene is a genetic marker in certain individuals that allows them to endure catastrophic physical trauma by developing new abilities—i.e. superpowers. It has been speculated that the Meta-Gene is opportunistic in nature, taking advantage of pre-existing factors in an individual's system to cause a mutation.

Due to extremely complex genetic engineering done to Kryptonian’s over the years since live birth was abandoned for birthing pods, it’s extremely rare for Kryptonian’s to harbor any potential to develop a meta-gene’s activation unless engineered to be a Meta-Kryptonian, they are of natural birth, or are a hybrid. A notable Meta-Kryptonian being Doomsday, an unstoppable monster that warranted in the Kryptonians altering their DNA to prevent such an unstoppable monstrosity ever again.

The Superman Mythos: Krypton, Kryptonians, and... Darkseid?

Krypton: Hailing homage to the holocaust and Superman’s Jewish upbringing, Krypton was annihilated by Darkseid who viewed Kryptonians as a threat to the New Gods dominance. Unaware of their genetic potential, Darkseid dominated their planet before harvesting it’s core to fuel Apokolips which caused the instability of the planet. Few Kryptonians escaped the war with Darkseid, the most prominent being Krypton’s last son Kal-El. Krypton itself, was an advanced civilization that chose to become an isolationist planet out of fear following the attack by Brainiac due to Kryptonians seeking to spread amongst the stars and encounter alien life, their first contact being Brainiac stealing the capital of Kandor. Needless to say it was an experience that changed Krypton’s beliefs leading up to the war with Darkseid. Few Kryptonian colonies ever being self sustaining following disconnect from Krypton such as the Argonians, and Daxamites.

Kryptonians: Kryptonian powers stem from their ability to absorb solar radiation. They themselves are far more advanced biologically speaking despite their human appearance. So with that in mind it really doesn’t make sense for an advanced race who’s natural abilities depend on solar energy to be predominately Caucasian. So naturally all Kryptonians would be on the darker spectrum of skin tones as the darker someone’s skin is the more melanin they have which is better for protecting them from harmful UV radiation and through exposure to UV rays we make vitamin D within our bodies. So with a race of beings that specialize in solar radiation absorption that supercharge their bodies, darker skin tones are a must. Lighter skinned Kryptonians can occur albeit they’re abnormalities due to their less effective absorption of solar energy which can overtime adapt and evolve to become just as strong as a normal Kryptonian. The meta-gene is also present in Kryptonians but due to their complex genetic structure it is a rarity, a notable Meta-Kryptonian being Doomsday.

Kryptonite: A variety of Kryptonite exist following the destruction of Krypton which cause a variety of side effects or even death to a Kryptonian exposed to them. Such known to exist are Green, Ruby, Sapphire, Amber,  Sunstone and Onyx Kryptonite. 

Green K: Weakens and sickens Kryptonians even to the point of death with long enough exposure.

Ruby K: Hyper accelerates solar absorption within Kryptonians causing an increase in aggression and irrational thinking.

Sapphire K: Strengthens Kryptonians on a steady level and cleanses them of other effects of Kryptonite.

Amber K: Transfers Kryptonian’s advanced solar absorption abilities to other beings.

Sunstone K: Removes Kryptonian abilities under any sun by destroying their ability to absorb solar radiation.

Onyx K: A heavily altered version of Kryptonite that can induce insanity and warping of one’s mental state to ill effects.

Kryptonian Power Scaling: All Kryptonian's possess the same abilities under a yellow sun. Meta-Kryptonians are a rarity but can occur due to mutation or alteration to a Kryptonian or of Kryptonian descendance. More intense exposure to solar radiation can increase a Kryptonians power while absence of such radiation will result in the Kryptonian having to rely on their own reserves until they’re depleted. Even depleted however, Kryptonians are stronger than average humans possessing only enhanced strength, durability, senses, sight and the ability to leap extremely high while abilities such as flight, heat vision, and increased base abilities are inaccessible until they’re recharged. The newer ability of the solar flare is also included in a Kryptonians power set with the same limit of a one time use until the individual has recharged unless training has been undergone to better control this ability.

Darkseid: A fascist totalitarian god emperor of the hellish world of Apokolips, who destroys, dominates and enslaves worlds for his own use as he see’s himself as the superior being. Leaning in more to the god complex for Darkseid and his views on his existence in the universe. A lot of him and his history is going to be flushed out on his own page but for now, Darkseid IS... the destroyer of Krypton.

ANADRM Layout

So how I’ll handle the project is by breaking down all the changes for said specific character of the week (races origins, abilities, side characters etc.), then the character themselves and finally ending it off with a short pitch story featuring that character.

Each character will indeed be in their own interconnected universe, but the connected universe is not the goal. The story and the characters themselves are, the story will unfold naturally with them as time goes by. 

Now with that being said, our first character of the week is the worlds first superhero! The Man of Tomorrow; Superman! Last Son of Krypton!

All New All Different Rebirth Multiversity

I am a big comic book reader, my knowledge ranging from Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, Valiant, and the list goes on. I am here because well, it’s no lie to see that comics are becoming a dying medium in our current age. Not many are willing to pick up a comic book of a character with literal years of history on their back and I honestly don’t blame them. So like anybody with too much time on their hands, I’ve decided to take it upon myself to do something a little different. It might pick up speed it might not, but I really don’t mind. I’ll keep this as a place to vent out my ideas and thoughts on the characters and stories I came to grow up with.

A re imagining of them, but keeping their core character details intact. To show anyone interested who these characters really are at their core because like I said earlier, not many are willing to pick up a comic book. Instead they opt for TV format versions or cinematic versions which while good in their own right, they are changed heavily from their source material which is honestly okay, when done correctly and serves the basis of the story being told. So with that out of the way, this little project will be called ANADRM, or the All New All Different Multiversity Rebirth.

I will take characters at a time and go from there and if anyone finds any interest please feel free to give me your thoughts and opinions or even suggest characters I should check out!
