On the theory going around that Genya and Rengoku’s brother didn’t have breathing techniques because they were joining not for themselves but for someone else. Wouldn’t that account for other Demon Slayers in the corps? Tanjiro joined to find a cure for his sister, for someone else not himself. Even Shinobu and Kanae in some way. And what about Sanemi (unless his was because of his hatred of demons before putting it towards protecting Genya.) What are your thoughts on that theory?

It’s interesting tho how out of the two, Genya has the genetics to withstand demon blood and use its strength. Having the jaw strength to bite into demon flesh. The Shinazugawa’s had interesting genes with Marechi, and Genya’s anatomy haha.

Genya essentially didn’t need a breathing technique since he could keep up. I feel some of the fandom paints him as weak, but yet he was able to assist in the fight with Uppermoon 1 compared to the other kids. But I’m not discounting the others of course

This is the first time I'm hearing of this theory and just like you stated it indeed doesn't make sense because if we're going to use that logic of 'joining for themselves' then no slayer except Inosuke maybe would have any breathing techniques because almost all of them joined for someone other than themselves. Plus even if they all joined for themselves it would defeat the whole point of the Corps which is to eradicate the Demons so they don't harm other people.

In my opinion both Genya and Senjuro weren't able given breathing styles because of their roles in the story and in the development of other characters. If Senjuro had a breathing style I don't think he would've been able to tell or give Tanjiro the Sun breathing Cliffnotes. The same for Genya too, if he had a breathing style it would've defeated the whole point of his character

One of the things I love about Sanemi's use of his blood and Genya's chewing business is how it reflects their resourcefulness which makes sense given their background where they grew up poor and had to figure out stuff on their own.

*cbz is a common file extension for digital comics and manga. You can use apps like ComicRack to read them.

I have a bunch of books I got from amazon. They're all in japanese so if you're okay with that I'll give you the PDFs. I plan to buy more so I'll be posting updates.

I also have a bunch of images, mixtures of mostly high and some low res. They come in png, webp and jpg formats.

I use them for basic, self-indulgent designs like this one below and the poster I used for my banner

If you do stuff like this too, and are looking for some images let me know.

A lot of them have those cursed watermark patterns because I extract them directly from the Ufotable/Aniplex/KnY websites. I just paint them over using software like Ibis Paint or Clip Studio(when I have the time and energy ಥ⁠_⁠ಥ).

If you want material for your analysis I can also share some academic texts and books I found about japanese queer culture, homosexuality among the samurai etc.

I also have like 5 of the official soundtrack albums and a bunch of other stuff. If you want to get them directly I can provide the links.

I don't want to just put them out there so I'm trying to decide if I should create a discord server or a patreon(free unless you want to gimmie money lol) because I also want to try scanlating some GiyuuSane doujins.

Performance fixes and bug improvements

I've been looking over some of my past posts and I made some mistakes that I need to address.

1.) It's Gotouge not Gotogue 🤦🏽‍♀️

This has to be my greatest shame as someone who loves her, and I COULDN'T EVEN SPELL HER FUCKING NAME CORRECTLY! I'M ASHAMED!! AHSAAAMMMEDDDD!!! I DON'T DESERVE TO CALL MYSELF A FAN!! I'M A DESPICABLE HUMAN BEING!!!!

2.) Sanemi's language

I mentioned in this post that Sanemi doesn't use honorifics when addressing people except the Master and Amane. I'm wrong, he used it when talking to Gyomei. That's all.

Oh also, shout-out to @lyrichi who explained further in the post about his use of 'Ore' when referring to himself, and I forgot to share it! Sorryyyyy!

3.) Sanemi and Giyuu's date

In this post, I confidently and shamelessly mentioned or rather alluded to Giyuu and Sanemi having sake daikon together in the those picture scenes in the final volume of the manga. They're not, and it's so stupid because the dishes look so different. I realized my stupid mistake from this post on Twitter

4.) That Muichiro Demon Slayer Mark Post

Yea, that post is shit. It's fucking shit and I hate it. I made so many grammatical mistakes and there were lots of sentences that made me go

I think one of the reasons I'm so invested in KnY characters and ships like GiyuuSane, ShinoMitsu, ObaMitsu etc. compared to other anime series is because they actually feel queer.

A lot of them(especially Shinobu, Mitsuri, Obanai, Sanemi and Giyuu) are really, really queer-coded with aspects of their personality, characterizations, backstories and even design elements that speak to queer identities and experiences, at least for me anyway.

I swear everytime I reanalyze their characters and interactions I always find something new that'll make me go

I dunno if Gotouge-sensei did this intentionally, but it's really cool regardless.
