You know analog horror right? Like The Backroom, The Mandala Catalogue, Angel Hare, Arcadia, and The Walten Files?

I would like there to be an Octonauts Analog Horror.

In the 80s/90s/early 2000s, the US Government decides to make a secret experiments to use human test subjects and turns them into animals to use them in organizations where it is impossible for humans to be.

For some test subjects, they’re willingly members of the government. But for the others, not so much…

For example: A young boy who dreams of becoming a doctor is kidnapped and experimented on, turning him into a penguin.

Ok, this is a long shot but it’s a cool idea and I want to see it.

Slasher Billy Bob could actually work really well outside of Freddy Fazbear or that one short film.

Like it's actually a good concept if he's written somewhat in character and given an interesting motive that's not just "evil because he's an animatronic" maybe Concept Unification drove Billy mad with a desire for vengeance, maybe he's experiencing delusions where he thinks just playing around with victims and just completely unaware he's hurting people. Maybe he got drunk off gasohol and accidentally killed. What if blood is the secret ingredient in gasohol or Showbiz's pizza? I don't know. I really liked Rolfe Dewolfe Fan's villan!Rolfe au and I wanna do that with my second favorite guy

Animatronics and puppets undoubtedly belong to the same family. If you have appreciation for one, then you most likely have appreciation for the other.

Puppets use animatronic elements, just done manually instead of pre-programmed and fully mechanical. When you dissect them, the blinking mechanism that a puppet might use is very similar to the mechanism an animatronic would use.

Animatronics use puppet elements, like the idea of having non-mechanical parts that move with the character for visual interest (think Cookie Monster’s googly eyes) In comparison to the Rock-afire Explosion’s use of springs, hair, select latex parts and pom poms that add a ton of motion to the show. Heck, look at Earl’s entire body which is intentionally weighted to swing around and add visual appeal, without adding more mechanical elements to Rolfe’s design.

I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole in both my lifelong interest in animatronics and puppets, and I think it’s often overlooked how similar they are. I also feel like many costumes, mascots, and fursuits also border on being in the same group of things that animatronics and puppets fall into.
