“At thirteen, poor Anastasia began getting rather lumpy - in spite of all the exercise she took. She was also much shorter than her sisters and quite unaccountably lost all interest in her studies. Her teachers called it laziness. But I am not so sure. I think books as books never said much to her. She wanted to come to grips with life. I know there were many things that troubled her. She hated the Cossack escort always accompanying their outings and so on, but none of it marred her gaiety. That is how I remember her - brimming with life and mischief and laughing so often - sometimes for no reason at all, which is the best kind of laughter. The child was the gayest Romanov of her generation and she had a heart of gold.”
- Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna.

SWAN  PRINCESS
The  Swan  Princess  follows  the  story  of  Princess  Odette,  who  is  cursed  by  an  evil  sorcerer  named  Rothbart.  He  transforms  her  into  a  swan  by  day,  only  allowing  her  to  return  to  her  human  form  at  night.  The  curse  can  only  be  broken  if  she  is  rescued  by  true  love’s  vow  before  the  moon  rises  on  her  21st  birthday. Odette  flees  to  a  peaceful  lake,  where  she  and  the  other  swans  live  under  Rothbart’s  control.  Prince  Derek,  who  was  once  betrothed  to  Odette,  is  unaware  of  the  curse  and  believes  she  is  lost  forever.  However,  after  a  chance  encounter  with  Odette  in  her  swan  form,  he  learns  of  her  plight  and  vows  to  rescue  her. Rothbart  tries  to  thwart  their  efforts  by  disguising  his  daughter,  Odile,  as  Odette  to  trick  Derek  into  breaking  his  vow.  However,  Derek  sees  through  the  deception  and  defeats  Rothbart.  In  the  end,  true  love  conquers  all.  Odette  is  freed  from  the  curse,  and  she  and  Derek  marry,  bringing  peace  and  happiness  to  the  kingdom.

The Russian Tiara in 'Anastasia'
The tiara that Maria Feodorovna gives to Anastasia actually existed and was called the “Russian tiara”.
According to legend, the “Russian tiara” was part of the jewelry collection that Maria Feodorovna (left) did not want to give to the new empress Alexandra Feodorovna (right), who was Anastasia's mother, despite tradition.
This, however, did not prevent Alexandra Feodorovna from having a “Russian tiara” specially made for her.
The fate of the two tiaras belonging to the last empresses of the Russian Empire is unknown.
