A Statement of Solidarity from the Dramione Month Mods

An important statement as we move closer to #Dramione Month. We have included the ALT text of the images below the cut. but you can also read our full statement on our substack. With love for a safe and inclusive community, Your Dramione Month Mods ✨ ⏳ 🏳️‍🌈 (ALT text of images below)

Due to escalating attacks on the transgender community, the Dramione Month Mods would like to affirm our strong stance as anti-JKR, anti-TERFs, and anti-transphobes. We stand in solidarity with the transgender community and vehemently oppose any efforts to strip our trans friends and community members of their rights and ability to exist peacefully.

We do not endorse or condone the purchase or consumption of any HP merchandise that provides money to JKR to fund her hateful agenda. This includes but is not limited to: the Harry Potter books, merch, games, theme parks, studio tours, food, the CC stage play, the upcoming HBO show, etc.

Participation in fandom spaces is inherently free and we will continue to put in the work to keep this fandom event inclusive and free for all to participate in and enjoy. This means this space is not open to those who materially fund or actively support creating a world where our trans friends cannot exist peacefully.

For this Pride Month, we have donated $100 to Mermaids UK. Additionally, as members of the dramione and queer communities, and on account of our deep love of both, we will be making a donation to Mermaids UK after Dramione Month finishes, donating a dollar for every 10 works created up to 3000 works. We encourage you to join us in contributing to this amazing charity! We will be running a fundraiser linked on our Instagram from now through the end of October.

Like last year, Dramione Month will have four weeks with overarching themes and day specific prompts (that you help choose!). We'll be posting the weekly theme moodboards soon.

Updated Guidelines for Dramione Month

Hello everyone! Although Dramione Month has now officially ended, we would like to address the following updated guidelines. We have three main points that we wanted to make explicit:

NO PLAGIARISED WORKS

Plagiarism is the act of stealing and passing off someone else's ideas or words as your own. This includes any use of AI in the creation of your work, whether using a chatbot like chatGPT in any capacity or utilising AI generated images to trace or reference. Plagiarism also includes the lifting of art concepts/style/composition from others’ art without credited references or permissions.

NO MONETISATION

Dramione Month's mission has always been to encourage creativity and engagement within the fandom. As a free non-commercial event, any monetised self-promotion or solicitation connected to works created for Dramione Month is not permitted. Additionally, we do not allow the sale of any works created for Dramione Month.

NO PREVIOUSLY POSTED WORKS

All works posted for Dramione Month must be new fanworks created specifically for the event. Any work that has been shared previously (whether posted independently, part of a previous Dramione Month, or part of a separate fandom event) will not be reshared to our social media platforms. Previous works will not be accepted into the AO3 Collection.

“Don’t do this, Hermione,” he grumbles, running his hand through his hair. His bare chest flexes with the movement. The bloody towel shifts on his hips and she can’t tear her eyes away.

“What?”

“Push me away!”

“I’m not!” she scoffs.

“It’s all you ever do!”

“That isn’t true!”

“Do you know why I stopped going on dates? Do you know why I turned down every fucking girl my mom set me up with?”

Hermione does not want to hear this. She turns, heading back to the floo.

“Stop! Please!” he shouts, “let me finish... Let me get this out.” She pauses, unable to deny the hurt in his tone. “They aren’t you, Hermione. None of them, and as much as I love fighting with you, I’m sick of fighting this!”

Ahhhh I did it! another Dramione month done! This had been one of the most stressful, fun, chaotic, rewarding months of my life!
