Yeah I just can’t get into male characters. Every time one shows up he’s always just the Male Character to get brownie points and make an obvious epic maleboss so the writer can feel better about themselves. Not to mention they’re always getting in the way of my cute yuri ship. I just rather go focus on women instead. They’re always the more interesting and better written characters than the one random man they decided to shoehorn in.

Have to say the weirdest part of being in Social Work classes in America is the non-zero chance that you will have active duty military as peers.

Cause like idk.. I feel that being involved with and supporting a military by itself hits a few ethical grey areas, but working with the AMERICAN military whose history is filled with war crimes, instances of colonization and imperialism, and a list of countless other issues defiantly goes against most NASW code of ethics??

i think when we used to point out that a story didn't need a sex scene what we meant was "this story reduces its women to mere sex objects and gives them no interiority so the sex scenes are gratuitous and geared towards the male gaze" it wasn't the sex that bothered us per se it was the objectification of female characters while givig them little to no consequence to the overall story but nowadays people mean "sex is icky and gross and has no merit to ever be portrayed in our arts which should be good and pure and never ever make ME feel discomfort" and it's like. i bet a bowl of unfrosted flakes looks real good to you rn
