Offering stones

When taking something from nature, such as herbs, it is nice to give something back. You can leave these lovely air-dry stones in places such as the forest as a way to say thank you. Leaving these in nature is also totally safe for the environment. You can also offer these to a god/goddess.
Recipe:
2 cups of baking soda
1 cup of corn starch
1 ½ cups cold water
Mix until smooth, then put it in a pan and stir until it boils. Keep stirring until it is the consistency of mashed potatoes.
Let it cool and take the clay out of the pan. It should feel really smooth and you will probably play with it alot before you are even going to make the stones :)
I added some herbs and flowers, such as rosemary, lavender, roses, carnations, thyme, cloves, cinnamon, some blue flowers of which I don’t know the name and some orange berries that I found near the park.

I just made a little ball, then made a hole in it and added some herbs.

Now you can decorate it! You can add anything and shape them in any way you want. As you can see I made some squares, hearts, blobs and even an easter egg :) I’ve seen some people use glitter and I recommend you don’t add any glitter since that is actually bad for the environment. I tried using normal white sugar as an alternative, but i noticed that the stones got kind of wet, which I should’ve seen coming. Not sure what’s going to happen when it dries so I’ll keep you guys updated.
I’m so happy with these and I am definitely going to use these for Ostara ^^ Of course you can use this recipe to make anything you want, not just offering stones.
I hope this was helpful for you guys ^-^

Pay the Piper Spell Jar
Here’s a spell for those times when you’re waiting on payment from a variety of different sources for work you’ve already done. It’s money drawing with modified intentions, since you know who owes you and for what. (In my case, a freelance article, music royalties, and a supplies trade.) I lifted this format from @witching-and-wondering’s beautiful anti-nightmare spell bottle.
You’ll need:
jar
tealight candle (green if possible)
salt
basil
mint
bay leaf
Optional:
green ribbon
star anise
cinnamon stick
a whole clove for each person that owes you
calcite
sigil on paper
bergamot oil

Place the ingredients in your jar in an order that pleases you. The calcite can rest against the outside. If you like, draw or pierce a money-drawing sigil on the bay leaf before adding it. Tie green ribbon around your jar and anoint your tealight with bergamot oil, if applicable. You can also sprinkle mint on top of the tealight. Put your tealight on your jar (or next to it if it’s a tiny jar) and, as you light it, recite:
My obligations now fulfilled With knowledge deep and labor skilled In return and with all speed Complete the trade that was agreed
If you have a sigil on paper for this purpose, light it with the candle’s flame and burn it to ash in a firesafe container.
Let the tealight burn down, while focusing on your situation–but try not to dwell on resentment toward the people who haven’t upheld their bargain yet. Instead, consider the positive emotions you’ll experience when you have what you’re owed, like the sense of relief when your rent is paid, or the comfort of a new item of clothing you plan to buy. If you feel negative emotions taking over, or you’re short on time, snuff the candle.
Seal the jar and keep it in a safe place. Then, if you haven’t recently, politely but firmly check in with the people who owe you.
Charge the jar weekly by burning another candle on top of it (but hopefully that won’t be necessary). When all your payment comes in, empty the jar and cleanse it for reuse. Remember not to dispose of salt outdoors!

I recently taught an introductory rune casting class and thought I’d share the rune study worksheets that were provided. They’re excerpted from a very rough draft of a book I’m working on. Feel free to take them for personal use. I have pages for a lot of other spreads, but we just reviewed the one to break the ice :D. Runes 101 RUNIC MAGIC IN THE SIGRDRÍFUMÁL Bindrune Workshop(s)

Congratulations!!

Last Night I was Handfasted in marriage to my best friend. It was simple, quirky, and beautiful all at the same time. We made our own cords, and I prepared the ceremony. Our officiant is a close friend of ours, and wrote our ceremony in this beautiful book with some personal touches. We were married in front of a fire, with our four sisters surrounded by candles and loved ones. Our photographer is also a Pagan artist friend of ours. I think it was everyone’s first gay pagan handfasting ceremony but everyone loved it! @careyward26

Reasons why some may not like "Blessed Be"
1,) It’s history:
Wicca is a fertility religion. The fact that “Blessed Be” stems from a ritual referencing sex and fertility should not be surprising. But for those who do not know where the phrase stems from, it comes from this ritual called The Five-fold Kiss:
“FIVE FOLD KISS FEMALE
The High Priest kneels before the High Priestess and gives her the Five Fold Kiss; that is, he kisses her on both feet, both knees, womb, both breasts, and the lips, starting with the right of each pair. He says, as he does this:
“Blessed be thy feet, that have brought thee in these ways. Blessed be thy knees, that shall kneel at the sacred altar. Blessed be thy womb, without which we would not be. Blessed be thy breasts, formed in beauty. Blessed be thy lips, that shall utter the Sacred Names.”
For the kiss on the lips, they embrace, length-to-length, with their feet, touching each others. When he reaches the womb, she spreads her arms wide, and the same after the kiss on the lips.
FIVE FOLD KISS MALE
The High Priestess kneels before the High Priest and gives him the Five Fold Kiss; that is, she kisses him on both feet, both knees, phallus, both breasts, and the lips, starting with the right of each pair. she says, as she does this:
“Blessed be thy feet, that have brought thee in these ways. Blessed be thy knees, that shall kneel at the sacred altar. Blessed be thy phallus, without which we would not be. Blessed be thy breasts, formed in strength. Blessed be thy lips, that shall utter the Sacred Names.”
For the kiss on the lips, they embrace, length-to-length, with their feet touching each others. When she reaches the phallus, he spreads his arms wide, and the same after the kiss on the lips.“
Even if you don’t realize you’re referencing this, people can be reminded of it simply by you saying “Blessed Be”, and it can make them uncomfortable. In this case, listen to them and don’t fucking say it.
2.) They are uncomfortable with unsolicited religious blessings
Undoubtedly, Blessed Be is a blessing tied with religion. People who are not part of that religion, or are without religion completely, may not want to receive any sort of blessing from a religion that is not theirs. Same goes for people who say “God bless” to those who are not of an Abrahamic religion (since God inevitably is tied to YHWH in the west). This is just rude to do
3.) Its ties to the Wiccan God and Goddess
Like the “God bless” example listed above, many people associate “Blessed Be” with a blessing from the Wiccan Lord and Lady.
If someone is dedicated to a deity, and only wants interactions and blessings from that specific deity, then the blessing of deities from another pantheon would be unwanted and intrusive. This can be supremely annoying when one wants NOTHING to do with the Wiccan Lord and Lady.
So if someone says they would prefer you not say “Blessed Be” to them: listen to them. They’re not being “Wiccan-phobes”. They likely have a valid reason to request you refrain from blessing them. Just fucking listen to them
And remember, a secular blessing like “have a nice day” works just fine.

A Hex to Turn Joy Into Misery
Fill a small jar a half of the way up with honey. On a piece of paper, write your target’s name in red ink. Drop it into the honey and let it steep for a day on a sunny windowsill. Name all the good things happening to them. Name their joys. “This is their life today. Come the morrow, all sweet things will wither.”
The next day, remove it from the window and open up the jar. Remove the name from the honey with your fingers. Reach into their happiness and pull them out. Set it aside for now.
On a plate, take all the ashes and dirt you can find around the house and make a heap. Sweep your floors, dust, clean out the fireplace, empty out the incense burners, clean everything.
After it’s all on the plate, put the honey covered name on the ashes. Fold the ashes on top of it. Stir the name around. Make sure that it’s covered. All the ash will stick to the honey. “For all your joys, let them wither. When you seek happiness, find nothing but dirt and ashes.” Now that you’ve made their bed, let them sit in it. Leave the dish in a cold or dark place, away from where others will find it.
Keep that little bit of honey in a hidden area. That’ll be their happiness. If you ever want to pull the strings again, they’ll be your puppet. And if you ever want to give them back their life, dump the honey on the ashes and dispose of the whole thing.

Crash course on fake stones/misrepresentations
Because I have been too lazy to type this all up.
Quartz:
If your quartz has teeny air bubbles it’s glass.
If it’s got a fruit name it’s dyed. End of story. (strawberry, cherry, lemon, pineapple, blueberry) yes there may be some very rare exceptions-fire quartz being dubbed strawberry- but due to the rise in fakes with that name it’s generally called fire quartz now.
Aura quartz is a regular quartz that’s been bonded with another material. (man made)
Cinnabar Infused Quartz usually reconstituted and mixed together to make a red crystal.
Green quartz can be grown in a lab and anything that forrest green color is
Turquoise:
Magnesite and howlite look very very similar to turquoise when they’ve been dyed, magnesite will have very deep cracks in it though.
No there is no white turquoise.
You can do a uv test to see if it’s real
Amber
Often faked with Copal. They look nearly identical.
Amber will float in salt water-copal will not.
Irradiated/dyed stones:
Very vibrant colors!!
Irradiated: (they irradiate the crystals to get a deeper or more vibrant color)
deeply pigmented topaz or kunzite
dark (almost black) smokey quartz
very deep pink or red tourmaline
colored diamonds
some cultured pearls
vibrant yellow heliodor
Dyed:
Pearls
Agate
coral
other stones may be dyed as well, generally if it looks fake..it is.
Heat treated stones: (really not a bad thing but if you’re going for natural)
Amethyst-lighten color+remove brown
Citrine-heat treated amethyst.
Aquamarine-remove green
Ruby-clearer stone
Sapphire-clearer stone
Rainbow Cal-Silica
Nope, completely fake 100%
Literally just car paint layered with calcite and resin.
Citrine: (im so sorry)
Much of the citrine on the market is lab made.
If it’s lab made it’s usually amethyst that’s been heated until it changes color
The bottom of these stones will be white with more color at the tips.
srry
Lapis Lazuli:
High quality is vibrant blue, hard to come by, and very expensive.
Low quality howlite, jasper or sodalite is dyed blue, and passed off as lapis.
Acetone will remove the dye but damage the stone.
Obsidian:
The clear green obsidian you see all over ebay is slag glass.
Natural green obsidian has been found but it is opaque and is more gray than green.
there is red obsidian as well but again, it’s not a vibrant red and is more brick colored.
Wikipedia is not always right.
Goldstone:
it’s glass it’s legitimately just glass
Opalite:
also glass.
real opalite exists but it’s green and not commonly found
once again, don’t believe everything on wikipedia.
Bismuth:
Doesn’t naturally form in the crystals, lab made!!!
rlly pretty though
Hematite:
Not naturally magnetic!
Magnetic hematite is 100% man made!
I’ll add more as I come across them~
