Karrin rubbed the back of her neck, pulling a cop face with blue eyes focused on Puck. "Yeah, I have... questions."
Puck flashed the human woman a quick impish grin- stars and stones it was lovely to come across an adult human about her height for a change why were mortals so bloody tall these days it was irritating- and flitted inside. With the invitation, the threshold didn’t stop her, though it still tingled sharply as she passed over it.
“Hello dearie,” she said. “You must be Karrin Murphy.” She didn’t have the woman’s Name, but she still pronounced it just slightly wrong. It was her habit to do so in situations where she needed to demonstrate goodwill, a sort of ‘Look, I don’t want to use your Name, I have no interest in compelling or coercing you.’

Karrin Murphy eyed him for a heartbeat, her guts telling her he was alright. She noticed his green eyes first then his grungy, home spun clothes, calloused hands with stubby nails outlined in dirt. He had a goofy hat and a lot of hair the color of muddy brown water - hair in Pippi style braids and 'stash in a style she had never seen in her modern age. His face and stance were friendly and receptive. Short statured much like herself. No. Correction, he was shorter than her by inches and his proportions were a little off - longer in the torso than in the limbs, it seemed. Dwarf? Svartalf? Never met one. Nice change from always having to look up.
She gave him a small smile, a shadow of a dimple in one cheek and a nod. "Murphy." Giving him a name to replace the 'lass'. "You are?"

Of The Realm of Men. Slender but with a considerable amount more muscle than average. Fit or fighter, he did not have the eyes to place. Blonde as well. The sort less icy and more along the lines of poured cold beer. He liked her already. Strange clothes though.
“Lass.”

"Hey Puck." If she could sum up Puck in three words they would be androgynous, fluid and animated. She had the energy of a five year old. Murphy's eyes narrowed just a fraction at the way her name was said but didn't bother to correct the fae. They had their reasons and discretion was needed.
Murphy was having a fit of giggles she heard the loud shrill whistle. She jumped, clutching a wall, heart slamming away inside her chest and she eyed her SIG next to her coat on a lone chair. Easy reach.
She leaned out so she could see the window over her sink and saw a Puck outside the window. “Come to the door!” Her blue eyes flashing with annoyance.

Karrin Murphy opened the door, "Puck, please come in." Before you draw attention to my house. She made a dramatic sweeping motion with her arm and stepped back to allow Puck to pass.
Murphy got off her cell with Mr. Burnett and paced her tidy kitchen in her bare feet, lost in thought twisting her small fingers causing her knuckles to pop. There were those ugly feelings bubbling up about not being back at the Waterbeetle in time to save Harry. It wasn’t anyone's fault, but if she could wish those moments back again... Her mind careened over a short cliff and into the sharp and somewhat jagged memories of a nightmare her life had become and the changes she has had to make. So far.
She took a deep breath and puffed out her cheeks. This wasn’t like her. She shook her hands out, hopped a few times in place like she was getting ready for a sparring match and then put coffee on to perk.
She moved into the living room and made sure she a wall at her back and a decent view of the dining room off to the left before she called out the fae’s name. “Puck, Puck, Puck.” This definitely didn’t have the same atmospherical feel to it that Dresden always whipped up with his spells.
Murph snorted.
The house was quiet. She could hear a car passing down her street.
Then she laughed at how ridiculous this all was.
