Last year, Walmart was successful in capitalizing on competitors' lack of product availability and delivery issues. More recently, Samsung, Nokia and Microsoft bought Promoted Tweets around Apple's new iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina announcement.

Teens Say Twitter is the Most Important Social Network
Piper Jaffray's September 2013 study on teens and the social networks reveals that teens view Twitter as the most important. Facebook and Instagram are tied in second place, but Facebook is trending down while Instagram continues to rise. The overall landscape is shifting and teens are looking for new social networks, which is supported by the fact that the "other" category jumped from 2% to 17% year over year.

"See It" Button Embedded in Tweets Lets You Stream and Record

Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Twitter partnered together to create an embeddable "See It" button in tweets. The button will allow users to tune into live streaming from set-top boxes and mobile devices. Other capabilities include setting the DVR, creating reminders for upcoming shows, and purchasing Fandango movie tickets. The feature will roll out in November to Comcast Xfinity TV customers.
