can i just say i love how committed you are to drawing different face shapes, including noses?? i’ve always been self conscious of my big nose and seeing you draw the characters with one every now and then has really helped with confidence so thank you for that ❤️
Awww it makes me happy that you feel represented in my art but also sad. Big noses are so beautiful and I especially love to draw it on women, always so ethereal! You know these „before and after“ vids? I don’t want to shame anyone for their decision to change their features, it just feels like an angel loses it’s wings when they do it and I blame society and its ridiculous beauty standards for it.
And I actually doubted my skills at drawing features so your ask means a lot ❤️🩹 I‘m inspired to draw more characters with big noses now—It’s time to be appreciated!
I love designing the Archerons and the bat boys cause I want them to look different from each other. There are so many beautiful fanarts of them, but the only way you could distinguish them is by their symbols (Feyre and her tattoos, Azriel and Cassian their syphons, Elain with flowers etc.). Sometimes I even have too look at the caption to know who’s who. I want people to look at my art and know instantly just by their faces.
I still want the Archerons to resemble each other so it's clear they're sisters, but the guys should all look very different from one another. I LOVE Nesta, Cassian and Elain in this. I‘ve done a pretty good job on Azriel and Feyre too, but Rhys pisses me off here. I feel like his design is so basic but idk.
— (Edit) I‘m trying to depict the guys as Albanians, I hope I‘ve done a decent job. I want Rhys to be half Türk, so hopefully you could tell? (I don’t think so)
Anyway, here’s some more face-study sketches that were collecting dust:
Merrill and Gwyn. I have an interesting version of Merrill in mind that isn’t evil at all. (I might change her hairstyle though)

I hope you have a lovely week 🧡

So uhm.. is it safe to say this?
I‘m dreading the announcement.

Pros: Canon ship is settled and there wouldn’t be a need to prove it anymore. Content creators that had left the fandom might come back and new people join in.
Cons: The book might turn out trash like all Sjm‘s latest books from 2021 til now. Mid at best.
And imagine when it’s out and it turns out bad/mid, people will pull out scenes to roast the ship like it was done to Nessian 😭
Also, they might confirm it as only Elain‘s Book and you‘ll have Elriels and Eluciens at it all over again.

Your remake of Cassian has a better reason to dislike Nesta at first because he feels for Feyre since he's empathetic and feels Feyres pain more than a 'Miss boss lady said I have to dislike you' I quite like it :)
I‘m glad!! And it’s not just that! I prefer to have Feyre build connections rather than have it instant with the inner circle.
When Rhys introduces her to his circle, Cassian is the only one who truly appreciates what she’s done for them. Unlike the others, he doesn’t mind her presence or the fact that she knows about them. At times it’s a little awkward when he trains her, but through time they build a deeper bond. While the others make it hard on her, Cassian becomes the one she turns to for company and support. It means a lot to her because she never truly had someone care and support her like family. (Technically Tamlin, Lucien and their people were there first. But with Cassian, it’s more of a brotherly connection yk)

He becomes like a big brother to her by the time they meet Nesta and Elain, and Feyre barely told him anything about her family by then. So while in my remake Cassian isn’t constantly on Nesta‘s ass when it’s not for a reason, Nesta does strike a nerve there.

Humour me for a moment, please 🙏
A lot of people like talking about what if there was another Archeron sister? Just like, four instead of three, not like a secret sister. And since I really like your story telling, what do you think she would be like? Where would she fall in the birth order? What would her powers be? Etc. Obviously being that in depth is optional, but I, again, really like your story telling abilities and wanted to see what you would think!
Beware, some drawings look wonky and please excuse the poor dialog. I just drew it all over the weekend.
Meet Edith Archeron:
Let’s start with her past: Edith was born from a scandalous affair between Mr. Archeron and a wealthy lady. To protect her family’s reputation, her mother gave Edith up to the Archerons. It all happened shortly before Mrs. Archeron fell gravely ill and they lost their fortune. So unlike her sisters, she only ever knew poverty.
There was no one to properly raise Edith, even with her family around. Feyre was always out hunting, Nesta and Elain busy with chores, and their father sat uselessly in his chair. Edith grew up without guidance, no education, no manners, and little love. Nesta, angry at their father, would at times take it out on her, Elain was too focused on keeping herself alive, and Feyre believed that keeping them all alive was enough— Once, when Edith asked to join Feyre hunting, her clumsy movements scared off the prey and it frustrated Feyre a lot, she told her to not bother and go back. That’s when she got lost in the woods and got bitten by a magical little plant that infected her body. Without immediate treatment, she’s cursed with a slow, incurable disease. She’s in the early stages in which she can‘t use her bitten leg properly. She didn’t tell her sisters about it, thinking that it’s no big deal. She might not live past her early 20s.
I love to think of Edith as this weird, awkward, nonchalant kid. She‘d spent her time either helping with some chores, sleeping through the day or doing whatever she could outside (not far from the cottage) to entertain herself. She made some animal friends as well, hehe.
She also has no chill when it comes to saying what’s on her mind. Like when the Bat Boys meet the Archeron family for the first time— while Nesta and Elain are trying to stay calm despite their fear of Faeries, Edith just watches that one big bat spit some chewed-up food bits right into her dish. You can imagine how she called him out on it.
On to your question about her powers: She has none. She’s human and stays that way.-> After Tamlin provided them with enough wealth, Edith developed a habit of going out in the middle of the night to dip her feet into the lake. This act saved her from being kidnapped by Hybern‘s beasts when they came and forcefully took Nesta and Elain. It was quite a scare to run back in and find her sisters gone and their rooms destroyed.

While we see each of her sisters healing, finding their purpose in life and accepting their reality in the recent years, Edith starts to wonder about her future. She pretends it doesn’t bother her, but she questions her worth. She has no passions, any goals or a purpose in life and so It’s hard for her to watch her sisters happy while she’s left behind with nothing, merely passing through the days and waiting for the disease to take over. That is until she stumbles upon Bryaxis while trying to find a book with interesting enough pictures and doesn’t require reading.
The friendly, near invisible demon seems to know everything about her. It convinces her to strike a bargain: To live and be like her sisters in exchange for a favor it will call upon. (See the sketch above far right)— Don’t blame her, remember that she wasn’t taught basic survival skills and to be cautious.
It tells her exactly what to do, how to become immortal and powerful. The catch? She has to steal it from Rhysand. It was difficult but she pulled it off. ( Don’t ask how cause Idk. Maybe by using Faebane or something)
Edith now enjoys her new life. For the first time she has something that brings her genuine joy and she becomes quite obsessed with it. She even feels no pain in her left leg anymore! Her sisters though aren’t particularly happy about it and that bothers her a lot. She doesn’t understand what she‘s dealing with, nor that her sisters’ concerns come from love, not hatred. With that, Bryaxis takes advantage of her hurt and confusion and becomes her only „friend“. It speaks to her in mind, whispering manipulations, convincing her that everyone is against her. The more her emotions spiral, the stronger grasp Bryaxis has on her.
(Don’t mind the sketch below far right with the broken wrings, it has no relation to the story. I just thought it looked cool)
There’s a long history between Bryaxis and the royal family of the Night court. Long story short, It was hunted down and forced into servitude by a former High lord. In an act of vengeance, Bryaxis used people as vessels to spread chaos and destruction within this court. Therefor the High lord at that time caged it in the heart of the House of Wind, no one ever allowed to enter the the pit of the library and awaken this monster. (You can keep the scene of Bryaxis scaring the living sh*t out of Cassian when the bat boys were on their rebellious phase. It revealed its true form to him)
Rhysand is completely stripped of his magic and his immortality. You can Imagine how the power-hungry king feels about this. (Not to mention how disastrous it would be if people, within and outside the Night Court, hear a whisper of Rhys‘s current state). Rhys could learn how to view the lower class as more than weaklings.
And finally, when Edith completely loses control does Bryaxis step in and demand that she fulfill her end of the bargain: giving up her very soul to fuse with Bryaxis. Combined, they (more like Bryaxis) destroy everything in their path within the city of Starlight. Though Bryxis cannot venture beyond Velaris, it is more than satisfied with its newfound strength to destroy what’s precious to Rhys.
Feyre, of course, won’t stand for this. Since she cannot defeat Bryaxis without losing Edith in the process, she strikes a compelling bargain. Rhys isn’t at all happy about it.

As punishment, Edith is permanently banned from the Night Court. With Thesan's approval, she‘s sent to reside in the Dawn Court, where she undergoes surgeries and a mental recovery process. Elain decides to temporarily accompany her, working with scholars and scientists to assist in her treatment. Some of the researchers are excited to document her case, particularly the rare disease she contracted. With Elain's help, they manage to create a cure for it.
This is my design of her grown. During her recovery, Edith decided that perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad to receive an education. In the years that followed, she discovered her aspirations and passions and learns to be content with herself as a human
Don’t forget that Bryaxis is still out there, though no one heard a whisper of it since that incident. What if they meet again? And this time Edith‘s not interested in conserving with it while Bryaxis is kind of obsessed with her. I‘ve also added some love interests for it (see the rough sketches). I personally prefer no love interests, but if people like they can decide between the 2 or have both.
I‘m not quite sure what profession she‘d take. I’m thinking of her in the engineering field, working to progress the human lands maybe? Or she stays in the Dawn Court and work as an historian. Idk.
That was fun. When I first read your ask I actually just wanted to tell you that I‘m not a fan of the 4th sister theory and move on, but I decided to think on it. I wanted to draw it all too, but it didn’t come out right 😬
It’s not going to be a part of my remake though. Just a fun little story that could be applied to the original if people don’t have a problem with Bryxias & Feyre’s first meet up being changed. But thanks to you I have a new oc now! 🤗

I just looooove your Az so much. Wish we get more of him in the future! He does something to me. Those dark circles are to die for. I remember you did a sketch of the Bat Boys once, and I must say, that's exactly how I imagine them! It's uncanny how you literally pulled them out of my head and brought them to life. That's how I imagine their heights as well, so it was a bonus! Also, your Gwyn is perfect as well! Very book accurate with her pin straight hair and all. Ugh, your art is just spectacular!
STOP— I can’t take that much love!!🤧
I‘m planning on designing each character. You‘ll then know what I have planned for them 🤭 I‘m glad you like my version so far, especially the one grouchy bat boy in particular!

Your Elucien artwork is wonderful ❤️
Are you planning some other couple? Like Nessian or Gwynriel or Feysand or Ruhnlidia...?
Gwynriel definitely. I actually drew the Gwynriel wip before the Elucien piece, but I was struggling on that one so I moved on to Elucien.
I was thinking of doing Nessian and Feysand, but I‘ll draw them as my own version instead of canon. I won’t make a Ruhnlidia version.

I LOVE it when artists depict a very clear dynamic between lovers, so much so that I could literally ship that couple without even knowing them. I hope I’ve managed to draw enough of the kind of dynamic I envision for Elucien. It’s not the full scope of what I imagine them to be like, but certainly a chunk of it!
And also… I heard that the people who voice Elain and Lucien both ship Elucien. If that’s true, I‘m gonna scream. You know how the voice actor of Zuko made a fan audio in which Zuko confesses his love for Katara? I need something like this for Elucien 😭
Gwynriel WIP. I might have to change some poses and rearrange them all. It’s just not as good as the Elucien piece and it’s bugging me.

My SJM- based opinions that nobody asked for, but I‘m sharing anyway.
I made a lot of critical points that may trigger some people…
- Manorian sucks. They had potential until they became canon, and SJM turned Dorian into another shadow daddy. Dorian dominating Manon is a joke—it's just ridiculous. Also, Dorian should be shorter than Manon.
- Dorian and Sorscha are cute together. RIP, though...
- Chaol is one of the best male characters in the SJM universe.
- Chaolryne is the healthiest and one of the best ships in all of her book series.
- Sam’s death WRECKED me.
- Kaltain deserved better.
- I think I like Rowan with long hair better.
- The Assassin’s Blade and ToD are severely underrated. KoA wasn’t that great.
- I hate the spy theory with a burning passion for both Elain and Gwyn, especially Elain. Maybe it’s because I have other plans for them, but I just don’t see either of them as spies. Let’s be honest here—the only reason most people support the spy theory is because of Azriel, not because they genuinely think Elain and Gwyn are suited for the job.
- Azriel is far from being the best spymaster. I’d say he’s very bad at his job, and Rhys makes it worse. 😭🙏
- The High Lady title is overrated. The position of a ruler isn’t some internship that any 14-year-old can apply for. → Nesta or Elain as High Lady of Dusk? Elain as High Lady of Day or Spring? Gwyn as High Lady of Summer? Emerie as High Lady of Dawn? The only female characters I want to see rule are Viviane and Cresseida. Headcanons are cool and fun, but some of y’all treat them like facts.
- I’m not a big fan of High Lady Feyre anymore. I see her as more of a neutral party than a ruler of a specific court—or better said, a city.
- I love the Inner Circle, but I’d hate to be their friend, and I don’t think they’d enjoy being my friends either. I’d rather hang out with the Valkyries and Elain.
- I love the Valkyries, but I’m just annoyed that Nesta was given a sword and armor like most of SJM’s female characters. I fear that Elain might be the next target and I hate it.
- Nesta made the right decision in choosing her safety and comfort (sitting on that rock instead of training) over Cassian’s already-bad reputation. It wasn’t one of her prideful moments like people think so.
- Amren should’ve stayed dead. She contributes nothing to the story after ACOWAR. All she does is b*tch, whine, and moan.
- Vamren doesn’t really make sense. Amren doesn’t strike me as straight or as someone who would even pursues a relationship. It seems like Varian was just thrown at her.
- Justice for Jurian!
- Rhys does NOT need to be superior in every way. It’s okay for him to lack power in certain areas and actually be flawed. I came to that conclusion when I worked on Rhys’s character for my storytelling—it makes him a more compelling character. Tamlin also doesn’t need to suck in every way possible.
- I’m fairly confident that Gwynriel and Elucien are endgame, but I don’t care enough to try to convince people of it, nor will I be upset if they’re not endgame. SJM builds up great potential and then wastes it, so I’m not sure if an announced endgame is a good thing. You either write a good story or don’t bother at all. I won’t accept mediocrity anymore.
- Case in point: ACOSF Nessian sucked. Their love story consists of repeated sex and unnecessary arguments—bleh. Potential wasted.
- I feel nothing for Sarion or Elriel (though there’s one thing I don’t like about them, which is thankfully still just a headcanon), Emorie… and probably more ships that I can’t think of rn. I don’t like nor dislike them—they’re just there.
- I love Helion x LoA’s tragic love story, but I don’t want them together. At least, not so soon after Beron’s death. His existence isn’t the only obstacle between them. There are a lot of unresolved feelings, resentment, and trauma built up over the years. It’s really not that easy.
- Neither SJM nor the fans are aware of how long 500+ years truly is.
- Sarah’s right—Ruhn and Lidia’s wedding was corny and unnecessary.
- I loved Ruhnlidia in HOSAB. They were kind of boring in HOFAS. Then I realized that I just love DayNight more than Ruhnlidia.
- The only girl I like to see Tharion with is Hypaxia. I think their banter is cute. I know she’s a lesbian, but based on how boring SJM writes her queer ships, Hypaxia x Celestina was only bound to be unremarkable.
- Tharion was intriguing until he got his own POV. I really don’t want to feel the same about Azriel when his book comes out.
- Hunt deserves better, but he needs to give up that foot fetish.
- The only interesting bonus chapter that came with HOSAF was the Ember x Randall chapter. To be honest, a lot of bonus chapters SJM writes are so unnecessary and boring.
- The crossover should’ve never happened. It feels like a corny Marvel dream SJM had. The only good thing that came out of it was Ember being a mother hen to Nesta.
- I really don’t care about Bryce’s friendship with Nesta and Azriel.
- I’m not a fan of the headcanon that Bryce and the Valkyries would be friends, even though it makes sense.
- Bryciel gives me the ick. I saw a post that mentioned how it would be a one-night stand followed by no contact afterward, and I couldn’t agree more. I feel like they’d get annoyed with each other pretty fast. I’m sorry to anyone who ships it, but their personalities don’t mesh well...
- The torture Ruhn, Hunt, and Baxian suffered under those weirdo angels wasn’t even that bad. I shouldn’t have had high expectations.
- Baxian is a good boy, but I don’t like his mate.
- Cormac is cool. Rip.
- HOFAS was bad. I enjoyed it at first, especially the whole deal with the Viper Queen, but I got bored over time, and I couldn’t keep up with the plots anymore. HOEAB is the best book in the series. HOSAB was fine.
- All villains (except Maeve and Arobynn) are so cartoonish and corny.
I have more opinions, but that’s enough for today. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on these books (and some theories/headcanons), and I’d love to hear your opinions!
I’ve also made the decision that I won’t read another SJM book ever again after ACOTAR ends. Until then, I’ll support my local library or download the upcoming ACOTAR books in PDF instead of giving her my money. That’s how you actually separate the art from the artist, rather than just saying it. 🥰

I was thinking recently about your acotar concept/remake, and all the cool elements you’re adding to build up the world-building and it got me curious. will the Archeron sisters’ dynamic between each other stay relatively the same?
And on the flip side, what is the dynamic between our main 3 brothers now that Rhysand is more morally-grey? Does that make Cassian and Azriel morally-grey, and in what way specifically?
Relatively yes, their dynamic is stays pretty much the same.
I’d like to delve deeper into the Archeron sisters' lore, particularly how their family dynamics shaped them. The root of their strained relationship lies in their parents: their mother’s favoritism and abuse, as well as their father’s favoritism towards Elain and his overall cowardice, left quite some scars on their daughters. I want to explore their relationship that doesn’t include the constant interference from the Inner Circle or anyone else. Others may have opinions, but I won’t let them take it upon themselves to solve the sisters’ issues. Pleased to say, I’ve found a way to get Nesta to the House of Wind without force or intervention from the Inner Circle—especially since, in my story, they couldn’t care less about anyone outside their circle and have no interest in helping Nesta (Except Cassian, but he… isn’t capable of even thinking about her around that time)
Here‘s how it goes:
Nesta, raised to believe Mother Archeron stands always right, ignores Feyre as she’s convinced that their mother‘s neglect of her was for some reason justified, and later resents her little sister for taking their father‘s role in their cottage years. Elain, protected by their father from their mother’s cruelty (while Nesta was not), was never used to fending for herself. She seeks refuge in the next person who can care solely for her (which turns into coddling her). Nesta’s years of resentment and Elain’s sudden shift when they became poor affected Feyre a lot, making her believe she was the problem in their family and had to „make up“ for it.
Since Nesta and Feyre never had a real relationship, it’s going to be awkward when Nesta starts showing affection: Feyre’s confused like “Uh… what is this?” and Nesta goes: „Oh thank god you’re alri- Wait a damn minute.” (And vice versa.) Same with Elain’s polite apology—Feyre forgives but secretly resents her for always getting a pass. Imagine it like this: “I want to help the refugees. They’ve suffered enough.” Feyre: “That’s rich.” Elain: “What was that?” Feyre: “Nothing.” In turn Elain resents Feyre for never being honest to her. Nesta, after years of coddling Elain, is stunned and angry when Elain „leaves“ her in her worst moments, leading to little fights similarly to the ones in ACOSF.
Basically, they hold a lot of resentment toward each other and are too proud to even acknowledge it, let alone communicate. Their perceptions of one another are shaped mainly by how their parents treated them individually. After Feyre develops an attitude from her time in the Spring Court, you should expect plenty of sharp words, reluctant care, constant bickering, and a whole lot of snark as they're forced to work together. It’s going to be emotional and fun 🤭.
As for your question about the bat boys:

The guys are the opposite. They didn’t let their parents' influence define their relationship, instead they found solace in each other. They aren’t really good at communicating, but when times get tough, they try to be there for each other.
With everything Cassian and Azriel endured as children, the closest to a guardian next to Rhys’s mother was his father (which was hell). Cassian was seen as a worthless orphan, barely acknowledged by the former High Lord, yet he became the most empathetic and compassionate in the inner circle. He’d hesitate to kill innocents directly, even if necessary. Ignorant at times when his family is rightfully criticized or insulted (Illyrians spitting on Rhys for abandoning them to Amarantha), but not truly morally gray. Meanwhile the little Shadowsinger, rare and powerful as they are, was expected to be a perfect weapon and therefor bore the brunt of the High Lord’s anger. Both of them are forever grateful to Rhys and his mother, but for Azriel that gratitude extends to Rhys himself. Azriel feels like he owes him his life for everything Rhys has done for him (like shielding him from his father’s tantrums) and so whatever Rhys commands, he does. No objections, no hesitation. A spy caught doing his job? Tortured until he talks, then slowly killed (even if it’s eating up his soul). He holds Rhys in the highest regard, while Cassian, though equally loyal, simply treasures the family he was given.
Neither of them care about the rest of the world and why should they? They all look down on them (rightfully so lol) and whatever happens outside of the Night Court is none of their business. As long as their court stands strong, they’re fine with this devious asshole chasing power and dooming others, at times even support it… that is until Rhys goes too far by choosing power over family, the one thing that Cassian and Azriel treasure the most in the world. That’s when a rift in their relationship happens.
I tried my best to answer your questions. There’s just soooo much to say, but I didn’t want this post to be too long.. It makes me so happy that people are already thinking about my acotar story 🥰
#excuse my poor attempt at drawing hands and wings#it was a quick sketch#I‘ll also dig deep into Rhy‘s family tree and bloodline as it’s important to the story#feyre archeron#nesta archeron#elain archeron#rhysand#general cassian#azriel shadowsinger#acotar remake#storytelling#concept art#illustration#digital art
