Hello ! I know it’s been a bit, but I’m a few days into winter break and felt the want to say ‘hi’ and also that I hope all is well !

With my semester all over, it’s been a bit rough …. nooooot entirely sure if I did well in my Chinese course but I’ve passed the others, so that’s really more important than anything. In my new free time i’m going to start writing a visual novel ! Isn’t that exciting? I’m also watching ‘horror’ movies again, so if I see any i’m particularly taken with i’ll tell you. I watched ‘I’m thinking of ending things’ the other day — i really enjoyed it.

As for me, Nothing exciting has really happened to me to report back, i’m afraid. I’ve been writing some terribly self indulgent fanfic. I got an internship? That’s about it. . . Mental health things got really bad and a bit scary a few weeks ago, but as always, I’ll be okay. I’ll survive — It’s just that time of year. I dropped one of my classes ‘cause it was too much to have alongside all the other coursework, so I should be fine for the remaining … three weeks. I think I’m gonna be able to pass well enough.

Hello !! I missed you both, I am embarrassed to say that I got really excited to see you two! It’s nice to see one of you feels the same. (I am just teasing. I know you both like me…! Sorry. That was probably too much.)

Anyway…! I find somehow you and I always sort-of get to talking about like experiences, but I get what you mean in that feeling of inadequacy. Maybe not exactly — i’m hyperexpressive but also terrible with tone. But also, I have BPD and that makes it hard for me to ‘be a person.’ Especially since there’s a sort-of stigma around us, I both have to be careful to never be too much as well as mirror what the person I’m with is like so they will think positively of me. It’s exhausting, but people like me. But my friends like me when I’m not trying to be someone I’m not, and it’s taken me a bit to like… recognize that really the only people whose opinions that matter about this sort of thing are the ones that are like, those who are kind. That probably doesn’t even make sense?

…What I mean to say is, I don’t think it’s a bad thing, not being what others expect. People who actually care won’t mind that, you know? I think you’re doing great. It probably doesn’t mean much if I say I’m proud of you, but I am.

That being said, a bit of background: I’m a college student whose focus is Anthropology. I am also autistic, and have a big fascination with humans in the individual, as well as a social group, but most specifically, I like studying the ways humans are kind. I know everyone has the, ‘Humans are the worst’ belief and I understand where that’s derived from, but I don’t think it’s wholly accurate? Altruistic behavior is an enduring trait that is one reason that we may have been able to advance so far. While usually underrepresented, there are a lot of instances in which humans have been kind to one another in prehistory, caring for those in their social group despite the risk it may pose!

This… isn’t really related to anything we’ve talked about, I just got excited. I love my studies but I get too excited sometimes. Sorry! Thank you for bearing with me, in any case. I’ll be sure to give you plenty of compliments from here on out. (& Some for D1d1 as well!)

That’s more or less how I feel, the reminder of it being fake! I think the closest I’ve gotten to proper fear as of late was watching ‘Lake Mungo’. I mostly just cried afterwords though. I’ll be honest I fell off my bed while trying to read your responses. Not anyone’s fault but my own obv but it was really funny and I felt the need to share. Ow :[

This is also going to sound weird but I really like the way you think about things, 1818. I was going to have a whole like, paragraph about some inane stuff on like altruism and anthropology but it’s not interesting so. Anyway, I think you’re already doing really well on the ‘being a good person’ front, from the very limited amount of time I’ve known you (Does this count as knowing? I don’t mean to overstep.)

I cannot say I wasn’t a tiny bit worried but I was also mostly confident you knew what the game sort of entailed. :,]

I really really like horror as a genre as well! I’ve been watching a lot of ‘horror’ movies, though I don’t think I’ve actually really been scared by any thusfar. Which is bumming me out because I WANT to be scared. I’m not sure if you’re much of a movie person though, so I won’t suggest anything, but if you’ve got a favorite I would totally love to add it to my list!

- I love horror movies!! But I definitely relate to your struggle. The concept of fear is kind of null with me. I don't know why. I've tried challenging it but nothing works! My system just constantly reminds me that they're fake, and I can't find myself frightened by that.

- The closest I've ever come to fear is more discomfort, and that came curtesy of Junji Ito. Is that the right curtesy? Courtesy? It feels incorrect either way. Anyway, the discomfort came less from thinking the situations could be achieved, but more where the ideas came from. The thoughts of such realities sprouting in a mind I can't even comprehend is uncomfortable to me, and I don't know why!

- That balloon one especially... I got awful uncanny valley with that one.

- My favourite horror film though, is probably Trick r Treat! I think it's fun!

What are your thoughts on plants? Do you like them? Do you enjoy gardening?

- I am indifferent to them.

- They are very beautiful, I can attest.

- While I could still smell them, that is.

- However, they prove to be a nuisance to me.

- To put a human inside a machine is increasingly difficult with size.

- When I failed to input my data into an ordinary computer like D1d1, I reached for higher goals, and a bigger body.

- ... plants will get too close for comfort once they breach a gap.

- They prove incredibly irritating to remove from clusters of wires.

- Carnivorous plants, however, are very useful for keeping bugs away from me.
