🍇Dionysus Post🍇

Words of advice: Don't let this horribly unimaginative, boring, high standard world crush and can you into something you aren't. Lose those friends. Lose that family. Lose the learned fear through learning and therapy. I used to be a slave to other peoples perception of me and would cater to my ex friends' insecurities so I wouldn't be judged/embarrass them by being me. Now idgaf. Be "ugly", be happy, be wild, laugh as loudly as you want, eat what you want, dance however you want, take up space (it is yours as much as it is theirs), consume life as it is meant to be consumed. Loose yourself in the pleasure of happiness, not in the negativity of others.

Dionysus Choroplekēs
"Danceweaving Dionysus”. This epithet suggests that Dionysus isn’t just a dancer, he 'weaves' the dance itself, creating a flow of harmony and balance in every movement. Dionysus becomes the dance, transforming it into a sacred ritual.

Had a shitty audition yesterday. — i hate that whenever i fuck up at an audition or don't perform as expected, my mind immediately jumps to believing dionysus is upset with me or that i performed like this because there's something 'innately wrong with me'. I get so anxious and then it just spirals into me believing that not only that dionysus is mad at me and that i'm disrespecting him, but that 2 of the figures in my life that are most important to me are mad. TwT
Obviously I know that it takes way more to disrespect a god or the 2 people prev mentioned. (one of them doesnt even know about my audition and im not even gonna mention it to her) It's just so difficult to stop assuming that they're mad at me and to stop catastrophizing. Really hating how this is starting to manifest in my relationship with Dio but I think it is worth working on with him.

If you are a pagan devoted to a deity, please live.
Continue writing about them, please keep saying their names. Please keep worshiping them. If you can’t find the strength within yourself to live for yourself, please try to live for them.
I know it’s getting scary. I think it’s going to get scarier. But please, if nothing else. Live.
Thousands of years, hundreds of genocides and crusades and decimation of culture, and yet somehow my Lords still have followers. Somehow I’ve found them. Somehow these names still have meaning. Through all of us they still remain.
Despite the efforts of centuries of suppression and control, My Lord is still alive, because I am alive.
In our fringe little cults, even when we must whisper because we cannot scream.
and maybe one day we’ll be free to frolic in fields or dance in forests while we chant without fear.
but for now, just live. Please.

Hellenic Polytheist Challenge: Listen to Greek people when we say Hellene is an ethnonym for Greeks, Hellenism and Hellenismos are not names for the Hellenic Polytheist religion and have more meaning beyond that.
Level: Impossible.
Edit: See my reblog for clarifications!

Happy Lenaia to those celebrating for the next three days, January 12th-15th!
Here is a great informative post (celebrated by the sub in February) about the festival from the r/Dionysus subreddit. Remember that it's ok to celebrate festivals later if you miss the official dates, and it's also ok if you can't/don't celebrate festivals. Sometimes things get in the way, and that's alright. Take care, everyone!
Hail Dionysus! 💜 🍇

YOUR GODS DONT HATE YOU
I can't stress this enough. Your gods love you, TRUST ME. They love and care for you so much, so much more then you might realize.. the gods only want the best for you, they want YOU to be the best version of yourself. It is so hard to anger deities, especially to an extreme amount. If you do feel you've upset a deity, apologize with prayers and offerings, you're likely to be forgiven.
