The qualities of light piercing through cloud, setting forth dramatic colour is used to embody the idea of religious ‘rapture’ (according to some millenarian teaching, when a believer is transported from earth to heaven at the Second Coming of Christ). Spectacular nature conjures a divine equivalent in the physical universe; phenomenolgy that lends itself easily to the fabric of the imagination and whereby we might more easily entertain belief in such miraculous, fantastical events.

A creationist’s view of evolution: citing scientific hoaxes and errors such as Nebraska Man, the name applied to Hesperopithecus haroldcookii, (ape of the western world) which was heralded as the first higher primate of North America. Later however,  the fossilised remains were classified as belonging to an extinct form of pig.
