Our Last Resolve
Here we stand, our last trial before us, fate's final gambit set to unfold. We may live. We may not... But promise me one thing, my dear, my love, my beating heart... Remember that I love you, that I have loved you, and that I will love you. Carry this close, beloved, for whatever comfort it may bring, whatever safety or protection... One way or another, we'll find each other again.
Based on a screencap of my OC, Quincey, and Gale before the final section of BG3.

Diggory, Grave Domain Cleric of Kelemvor
Diggory began life as a farmer in a decent-sized town called Red Meadoway. Known for both its grain output and for being a stop-off between the cities of Iriaebor and Eshpurta, Red Meadoway was fairly prosperous for a town of its size.
However, when Diggory was a young man, the entire town mysteriously died during a mass-asphyxiation event, Diggory's parents and brother included. Diggory was the only one who survived, though he never understood why the event happened, nor what caused it. Ever since, his mind has been plagued with persistent ringing laughter at random moments.
After the event, Diggory tended to the bodies of the dead, burying them even as he dissociated through the trauma. This earned him the attention of Kelemvor. Afterward, he became a cleric of the grave domain.
Diggory has spent most of his time in Red Meadoway, but can be occasionally lured away with the promise of gold or expensive creature comforts--particularly wine. Whenever he happens to leave, the care and protection of Red Meadoway and the dead that reside there falls to the Ruin Enchanter that sprung into being not long after the event that massacred the townsfolk.
Below are some concept ideas I've begun working on for this figure; my hope is to get more polished artwork in the future, but for now, I feel this is a good start!

Absolutely everyone in relation to this town has the gauntest cheekbones in existence. No full beautiful faces here, just tired people with one layer of skin stretched over their bones.
Here is a sketch of Red Meadoway, Diggory's home town, to just get an idea in my head of what I wanted it to look like:

Difficult to see, and extreeeeeemely rough, I fully acknowledge this, but I was very happy to have actually gotten some stuff done in traditional form, so oh well!
The flowers in the foreground are known colloquially as "The Blood of Chauntea," owing to the legend surrounding their existence in and around Red Meadoway and nowhere else: it is said that, long ago, Chauntea fought a battle in the very spot that would become Red Meadoway, and before she emerged victorious, her blood spilled into the earth and eventually regrew as these flowers. They signify luck and good harvests to the people of Red Meadoway.
The great wall surrounding the town (past which is the general temple, the manor house on a hill, a fountain with a statue of Chauntea at the center, and a watchtower) was constructed by Diggory, with the help of the Ruin Chanter. Its gates remain perpetually closed, and the Ruin Chanter regularly patrols the perimeter, singing old folk songs and work songs, and refusing to let anyone pass through or into the village. Though, the mournful chilling singing has become enough to deter anyone from even trying to approach the gates.

There are a lot of great “Gale Approves” moments in the game, but I think my favorite might be one of the earliest (or possibly the very first?) one you can get.
It happens right after you ask him about himself and he gives you his “cat, wine, library” dialogue, ending with “didn’t that paint enough of a picture?”
If you press further by trying to peer into his mind via the tadpole and you succeed, you’ll only get a glimpse before he angrily shuts you out, and you’ll earn his disapproval:

He’s pissed, and rightly so.
However! In the next dialogue, if you tell him curiosity made you do it, he not only immediately forgives you, he ALSO gives you approval for it (thereby canceling out his prior disapproval):

I love this interaction for two reasons:
First, because it instantly tells you everything you need to know about Gale—he’s reserved until he gets to know you, he’s curious with a hint of mischief, and he’s very sweet and forgiving.
And second, because the whole interaction can be summed up as:
Gale: How dare you?!
Tav: Sorry, I’m a total nebshit.
Gale: OH! 😃👍 same

EXTREMELY underrated Lae’zel trait is that she approves of you heckling Volo at the goblin camp but disapproves of you heckling the clown at the circus. funniest character growth ever
