the year is 2025. tumblr influencers exist. gone are the days where you could login to see your mutuals’ unhinged posts or look at cat photos. they’re everywhere now, the pay to read more button flashes at you. the blue signs that signify the social heirarchy of this world. massive blogs ask their followers to pay for text posts that a generator could have produced. you can’t block a person who is suscribed to you. tumblr influencers get into restaurants for free.

to an extent, the excuse of ‘its just fiction’ will pass because we can’t expect every character or piece to be without flaws but condoning this with the excuse is gross and its important to remember that our perception of media affects how we are in the real world. there’s more nuance i could go into but god, my brain is tired and its easy to see how messed up this is. i’ll come back and edit the post later.
