Helping Teens on the Road to College
How one Kia dealer is making a big difference in the lives of local students.
Medina, Ohio’s Bill Doraty Kia is one of the nation’s most successful dealerships. But this business is especially popular with local high school students. That’s because, for the past several years, Bill Doraty Kia has awarded multiple Medina County high school seniors with a free car for two years.
To be eligible, students had to maintain a 3.0 grade point average, participate in two extracurricular activities, and meet a high standard of attendance.
In 2018, eight students from seven local high schools were selected as winners. The lucky teens were awarded a free 24-month lease on a brand new Kia Forte, which should help take them to college in style.
It’s just part of the dealership’s involvement with the local community, which also includes safe driving courses for teens.

The Outlaw
The story of a horse that refused to be tamed.
When we visited Texas to film the Stinger GT, we met all kinds of unique people. But we also met something else that made an impression—a wild horse known to locals only as the Outlaw. This stallion served as our spirit animal as the Stinger GT ran wild across the plains. Never to be captured—except on film.

The Future Is Here, And It Looks Hot
With autonomous driving, over 300-mile EV range and a spicy design, the HabaNiro Concept is the “Everything Car.”
Kia spent its entire press conference talking about the spiciness of its brand. Spoiler: it's very spicy according to Kia. But they're not exactly wrong. After showing a drift version of the exciting Stinger the automaker took the wraps off an EV concept where all the doors open up like a supercar. Read more.

Living Our Truth
It just takes a look inside the Kia headquarters to see how we embody the Give It Everything spirit.
We don’t decorate the walls with “Give It Everything” to remind anyone of how hard to work. We do it in proud recognition of each of our employees. All of whom dedicate themselves to being part of the shared mission of building the highest-quality vehicles in the world. That’s a goal that takes an entire company sharing the same vision. And we couldn’t do it without them.

No Dust, No Glory
The new line of Kia GTs are ready to ride.
In East Texas, barrel racing is more than a pastime. It’s a point of passion—and pride—that helps young riders earn themselves a name. So when we turned our horses loose in the arena, in the form of our GT Line, it was for the same reasons: to earn our name as fastest ride in the stable.

The Tweet That Made Us Cry
A reminder of why we do what we do.
From reliability to safety to pricing, we are always conscious of the people who will drive the cars we make. They’re the reason we Give It Everything. So when a Twitter user named Arielle tweeted, “Why is a Kia commercial making me cry,” it was a moment of affirmation that we’re on the right path. We reached out to Arielle and asked her a few questions about how we were able to hit her right in the feels. (Interview transcript follows.)

The Other Side of the Tracks
As high fashion turns their community into a boomtown, the real Marfa does its best to hang on.
When we love something we inevitably ruin it with our enthusiasm. The pleasure turns passé, the charm fades, we move on to the next shiny thing. Marfa, Texas, is a city on the brink of proving this rule. For those new to Marfa: it is a beautiful, odd, art-filled place at the western edge of Texas, three hours from the nearest airport. This is only its latest incarnation. Starting in the late 19th century, it was a rail stop for oilmen, then a watering hole for ranchers. Today, because of a man named Donald Judd, local Marfans are losing ground to transplants from New York City and Seattle, the kind of people who thought they’d never set foot in Texas. Read more.
