"I feared her questions. For I knew, each step we took into the unknown, she would think me mad. Or worse, like so many others, believe me to be a charlatan. To reveal to her the nature of reality would also open her to knowledge which no living soul should be aware. Regardless, she was unlike any 'living' being walking among us."

The Wailing Night Pt. 1 - 4/4
Tumblr media
Isabella was set upon by several concert attendees. She fought for her life as she was dragged from the concert hall onto the cobbled, gaslit streets of Queensgate. Across the street, amongst the greenery of Washington Park she was beaten by the fists of her once adoring fans, until she gasped her last breath. The cultured citizens of Queensgate had defeated their ‘monster’.
But in truth, the monster was just being born.

The Wailing Night Pt. 1 - 3/4
Tumblr media
As is common among the genteel class, a woman dramatically fainted. Another shrieked in theatrical fear. A number of men angrily shouted while waving their fists in disapproval of the monster on the stage. It was as if everyone awoke from the slumber induced by Isabella’s ethereal voice and suddenly the truth was laid bare before them. They had been deceived. In place of Isabella’s captivating blue eyes stood one, enormously grotesque eyeball. Isabella  was a cyclops. Her piercing eye twitched and blinked with every angered shout and shriek. She stood immovable, stunned. Before she gathered her wits to escape the stage, the animalistic nature of humanity revealed its true nature. Her spell over humanity was broken. In its place was only rage.

The Wailing Night Pt. 1 - 2/4
Tumblr media
You see, as Isabella enraptured her audience, something about her slowly changed. A visual flutter in the fabric of reality. Slight gasps rippled through the audience. Isabella continued, becoming aware that something was amiss. The fluttering faded. The audience was stunned by what they saw on stage. For in place of their most beloved performer stood a monstrosity out of the fables of ancient Greece. For a moment the audience was unsure if the ghastly sight before them was part of the performance. However, as the reality of Isabella’s form began to work its way through the crowd, adoration was replaced by shock…then…an uncanny malice.

The Wailing Night Pt. 1 - 1/4
Tumblr media
They called it ‘The Wailing Night’.
That terrible night would begin with music that would haunt my memory for years to come. Rapturous melodies wafting out onto the damp, gaslit streets from the hallowed halls of the Queensgate Opera House, where Isabella Jacobs was captivating her audience with the most hauntingly moving performance of her life. Isabella was graced with one of those rare voices. A voice that could take you to distant worlds. It greeted you with a loving embrace, enveloped your being and whisked you away into oblivion. In that brief moment, Isabella was the most beloved performer of British America, perhaps the entire Empire.
Until her spell was broken.

(4/4) Continued From Doc Galahan's Journal: “Then came a new emotion, the intensity of which was almost too much to bear. Sorrow. Regret. The kind which longs for forgiveness but where none is given. I knew. It was her. Agnes. And the sorrow, the regret — was mine. All mine. For having failed her. For having failed to love her as she deserved. For having failed to give her all of me, as she had given herself to me.
I knew that each tentacle was a manifestation of her loving kindness and the shadow realm which enveloped us was my neglect and blind obsession”.

(3/4) Continued From Doc Galahan's Journal: “I was passed from tentacle to tentacle, floating, as if I was adrift in a nebulous ocean. The emotions grew stronger with each passing. Then…I heard them. The voices of a thousand seraphim singing from within the shadow realm. The echo of their ethereal timbre reverberating through the tentacles into my very being”.

(2/4) Continued From Doc Galahan's Journal: “Down, deeper into the depths of the void I fell and then — abruptly, I was lifted! Something quite massive, slipped around my waist. I could feel the clammy, gelatinous wetness of a tentacle as it gripped me, surprisingly with a gentle embrace. Most confusing of all was the flood of emotion that emanated from its touch. It was…concern and then…love.”

(1/4) From Doc Galahan's Journal: "In that moment I began falling. Falling within a realm of shadow. Beneath me I could see the glistening of monstrous dark objects, writhing in the void. Above me, the light of the waking world growing ever distant."

After some experience selling my stickers online and at events. I’ve decided to sell them as sticker packs in groups of three. The main reason being that I absolutely want to include at least a paragraph of story about each image. It’s key to what I do and I hated just selling them by themselves or with some generic piece of lore.
I’m so proud of these sticker packs. It has taken a ton of time and a lot of used resources but I’ve finally figured out how to make perfect stickers. The borders are perfect, the cuts are perfect, the materials are as perfect as I am going to get making them on a cricut. Many thanks to those early supporters who bought my stickers at the events. It is because of YOU that I was able to burn through supplies and make them better. I cannot thank you enough.
The first three sets will be on sale shortly. I’ll post more on that tomorrow.

Here’s a sticker of ABBIE using the Arcanarium. Are you tired of stickers yet? I spent all weekend writing, so I am struggling to find new content to share. However, creating these stickers is an interesting exercise. I may be turning some of these into smaller handmade prints done on my etching press. This is a good example of one that would make a wonderful small, handmade print. #printmaking #docgalahan #cincinnatiartist #cincyarts #printmakersofinstagram #steampunkart #narrativeart #printstagram #printmakingartist #storyart #gaslampfantasy #victorianart #victorianpunk #victoriangothic #steamgoth #odditiesandcuriosities#stickerart #supernaturals #stickers (at Queensgate) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChSVhZ2Oafn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My first sticker was Agnes using the Arcanarium. From my print Arcanarium I. AND….she’s back! This time with magenta fire. Because nothing says “eldritch flame” like pure magenta. #printmaking #docgalahan #cincinnatiartist #cincyarts #printmakersofinstagram #steampunkart #narrativeart #printstagram #printmakingartist #storyart #gaslampfantasy #victorianart #victorianpunk #victoriangothic #odditiesandcuriosities #supernaturals #stickers #stickerart (at Queensgate) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChAHZwpuUdp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
