So, I've been reading this Merthur fic, and it nade me think about something that I think most people on the fandom would disagree on, but I would love to see if there are people who might agree with me.

Many people on the famdom think, that had Merlin told Morgana about his nagic when she confessed to hin about thinking that the fire that was in her room was caused by her doing magic, than it would've caused Morgana to stay good, and that Merlin owed it to her, to tell her about him having magic since birth.

Two things that I find wrong here: 1. I don't think that Merlin owed Morgana anything, especially telling her his most kept secret, one that could've ended up with him sentenced to death by the pyre. Merlin might've considered telling her, and yes, he was stopped by Gaius, but, still, Merlin was taught all his life that his magic should stay concealed, should not be revealed to anyone. Beacause if the wrong person found out, it could end in his death. That is a fear that could not go away fron a person. And yes, she might've been his friend at this point, but Merlin didn't want to tell anyone about his magic, beacause of fear for his life. And you can't blame him for not telling her about his magic. Heck, Merlin only told Arthur, his soulmate, at the end of the bloody series, and he cares more about Arthur's opinions on him, and hated lying to him more than lying to Morgana.

2. Remember the fact that Morgana almost killed Uther in season 1? She was starting to be less good at this point of the series, until she became the villan that we all know. What if Merlin would've told her, and then she could've decided to betray him when it fit her? If Morgana had this knowledge on season 3, even after the end of season 2, she would've made sure that Merlin woul've been sentenced to death by Uther. And I'n sorry, but I don't think that her knowing about his naguc, would've stopped her fron turning evil.

Would love to see if other people share my opinion, please comment.

Looking for a Merthur fic I've read years ago on AO3 and haven't bookmarked.

All I remember about the plot is that Merlin was kidnapped by a group of people who wanted to steal his magic for themselves. There was a soreceress amomg their group who had stopped the leader when he wanted to allow his men to r*pe him, beacause she told them about this ritual for stealing Merlin's magic who's on the full moon (?), and they're not allowed to hurt him at all until then, in order for it to succeed.

I don't remember if Merthur were together or not at the start of the fic, but it was probably with the tags Established relationship or Getting Together, beacause I remember that they were defeintley together at some point of the fic.

Arthur was so afraid after Merlin had gone missing, and had tried to search for him everywhere. Morgana who was good in the fic, and knew that her and Arthur are siblings, had tried to find him by scrying after him, but could not find him even when she tried using her magic. Arthur knew about her magic, and I think that he knew about Merlin's as well, and he wss okay with it

Morgana and Arthur went on this journey in order to find Merlin, and then Morgana had thus vision, from the sorceress, that was from the group of criminals who had kidnapped Merlin, who wanted to meet up with her (?)/told her when Merlin was beimg held captive (?).

This sorceress had lost her parents to the purge, but did not blane Arthur for his father's actions, and wanted to help them.

Then I think that Arthur and Morgana had rescued Merlin with the help of this sorceress (probably?) .

Please help me find it, if it sounds familliar to anyone please comment on this post, and send me a name or a link to it.

So I just saw a few minutes ago that Alice announced that we'll be getting a movie that will revolve around Novel 6, and the Nick&Charlie Novel...

Look, I know that I'm meant to be grateful that we'll be getting a proper ending to one of my favorite tv series and novels of all times and I am, I really am.

I'm grateful for Alice, Kit, Joe and everyone working on this show.

But, I do not understand how a movie can include those 2 novels, and not feel like a rushed ending?

Think about it, an episode of this series is 40-45 minutes on average, how long can a movie be? 2 hours, 2 and a half hours? 3 max? How will we get a proper ending for 2 novels in one movie?

All the side characters, like Tori and Issac who finally got the screentime they deserved on season 3, how could those get a proper ending? How will we get time to explore Tori being ace? Elle and Tao fighting about long distance relationshios, breaking up and making up, Charlie getting popuklr after becoming Head Boy, Nick's feelings of being left out from Charlie's life and his anxiety about being away from Charkie when he'll start university, Darcy being abused by their mother also deserves more exploring (we did not get enough scenes talking about this fact), Imogen's sexuallity (is she bi, pan or demi? Will she finally get together with Sahaar?!)! and so many other plots that I forgot to mention!

I know that it's better to get this than being cancelled, something that I feared would happen since we did not get an announcement for a new season for months! But I seriously do not understand how couod Alice, with all her talent that we all know that she has coukd write a script for a movie about Two whole novels that won't feel rushed, and would give us a prpoer conclusion to the stories of all the characters? No writer no matter how much talented he is coukd write a movie script that woukd include all the plot lines fron 2 whole novels! Some things would be left out, woukd not het the screentime they deserve.

I wanted another season, damn it, and I know that I should be happy, and not cry about this, but I'm writing this as I'm crying, beacause that I know that no matter hkw much hard work would be put into this movie from the actors, Alice and all the other anazing people working on this show and future movie, it'll not be as good as a whole season exploring those Two nivels.

I know that many fans wanted a season to explore the sixth novel, and a movie about Nick&Charlie, I wanted that as well, but I knew that it wouldn't happen, so I kept hoping and praying that we'll get season 4, and instead we got a movie.

I don't know why it happened? Why did we not get a season 4 announcement? Why? Is it beacause the actors are busy, beacause I swear that me, and lots of other people would wait 3 years for season 4, just give it to us, I'll wait for it patiently! 😭

Many peooke think it's beacause the actors are getting older and do not look like high schoolers anylonger, but come on, Netflix made shows and movies about high school with actors who played teens that are in their 30s in real life! Who cares if they'll look 20 or more, I know that I won't!

Is it Netflix? Did they not want to give Alice another season? Did netflix want to cancel this show, and gave Alice a movie beacause she insisted to give us fans an endong?

I know that I should be grateful, I'll say that again, but all I feel right now is sadnees and dissappointment for not getting a whole season that woukd give us a proper ending, that could explore all the tiny detaios in the novels, all the characters' stories, without feeling rushed.

Making a movie about a novel is hard, really hard, and sone details and characters would need to be left out for time's sake, it happens, beacause you have limited time to explore the main plot of the novel, it happened before on other movies based on books, comics and novels, and I fear that kt would happen to Heartstopper, and I'm so afraid that I might be right. It won't be Alice's fault, but I would be dissappointed if it'll happen.

I truly hope that I'm wrong about this, and that those concerns about the movie, are just me being my anxious self.

Heartstopper is so important to me, even though I'm not a part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, it made me a better ally, it makes me happier when I'm sad, Heartstopper is one of my comfort shows, and the novels are one of my favorite novels I've ever read. I'n such a huge fan, and I'm so afraid right now.

Please, Netfkix, make this a really long movie, I beg of you.

going to just... dissect the whole "glasses make me disabled" thing as someone who is moderately disabled and mildly visually impaired because it annoys me to death. I know this is going to be controversial but if you have vision that is fully corrected by glasses then you are not disabled by your vision nor are you visually impaired.

Visual impairment

let's begin with the definition of visual impairment according to several universities

"Vision impairment means that a person’s eyesight cannot be corrected to a “normal” level." - University of Pittsburgh Department of Opthamology

"‘Visual impairment’ (VI) is a term used to describe a loss of sight that cannot be corrected using lenses." - University of Oxford

the US EEOC also answers the question of whether all people who wear glasses are disabled:

"No, not everyone who wears glasses is an individual with a disability under the ADA. When deciding if an individual with a vision impairment who uses (or used, in the case of a past impairment) “ordinary eyeglasses or contact lenses” is an individual with an “actual” or “record of” a disability, the ADA directs that their impairment should be assessed as it is corrected by the lenses." - US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

visual impairment exists as a category for people with uncorrectable vision loss or other vision related conditions. most definitions of visual impairment also include eye movement disorders (e.g nystagmus) and other eye conditions that are not correctable but do not necessarily cause traditional vision loss. these are exceptions, but again, are not correctable with glasses.

if your vision is correctable with glasses it is not visual impairment. period. full stop.

Disability

there are two different ways you can look at disability and fully corrected vision fits neither:

the social model

the social model of disability looks at disability as it is caused by society's lack of access. let's start with a fact: 81% of adults wear some sort of corrective eyewear! that is the vast majority of people. people who wear glasses are just simply not facing structural barriers in the world because the world is built for people who wear glasses by people who wear glasses.

and, no, being bullied in the playground is not a form of structural disadvantage. children bully each other for any and every reason.

"but I can't drive without my glasses!"

I can't walk in hot concrete without shoes. that doesn't make shoes a disability aid nor does it make needing shoes a disability. plenty of things require something else to allow you to do something, that doesn't make needing those things a disability. not all forms of support for an action are disability aids.

the medical model

the medical model looks at disability through the lens of impairment. wearing glasses with fully corrected vision is not an impairment.

people often point to hearing aids and say "well deaf/hard of hearing people are disabled despite hearing aids!" and it makes it clear you have never worn hearing aids. disability aids do not correct they accommodate. glasses mean you get to see at 20/20 vision. hearing aids are imperfect accommodations. wheelchairs are imperfect accommodations. feeding tubes are imperfect accommodations. the list goes on.

glasses mean you get to live your life exactly how someone who doesn't wear glasses would. someone wearing hearing aids does not get that. a wheelchair user does not get that. etc. because those disability aids are something you have to live your life around. they define your day to day routine. the day to day routine with glasses is 1. wake up in the morning 2. put them on 3. take them off at night 4. possibly clean them somewhere in there. you get to forget about glasses. I do not get to forget about my hearing aids or FM system or crutches or wheelchair because they are ever present in my life.

* just a note: this post is not referring to people who wear glasses and don't have fully correctable vision

So, I'm looking for a Merthur fics I read years ago ob AO3, I've tried searchibg for it a lot of times lately, but I couldn't find it beacause I don't renember much from it, or its' tags.

Merlib was a merman with magic if I remember correctly, Arthir had a ship, he was a pirate, and his crew was made of the knights. Arthur captured Merlin and put hin in some kind of a cage in his room. I think that Merlin hadn't understood at first English, but Arthur (and maybe Gwaine?) taught him hkw to speak.

Merlin and Arthur hated each other at the start, which kind of makes sense beacause Merlin was a captive, but after a whike, the twi started ti get closer, they became fruends and fell in live with each other.

I din't remember much from the plot sadly, I only remember that in the end, Arthur became a merman as well, and he and Merlin lived together in the sea. If I remember correctly, he onky told his mist trysted crew members, and I think that it was Leon whim he told that he survuved, and tgat he is alive and well.

If I remember correctly, Arthur was in danger, someone was trying to kill him (maybe Uther, or Cendred or other pirates, I don't remember that parr sadly 🤷‍♀️), and he fell ti the sea, and Merlin had saved him with hus magic (?), by naking him a merman.

It had art in it as well, I think that I might have downliaded the art from thus fuc ti my phone, but I can't find it.

The first picture was of Merlin, captured on a net, bleeding from his blue tale, and had Arthur with red pirate clothes, and the last one I remember was of Merlin's and Arthue blue and red rales tangled together as they hugged.

I am in desperate need of Merlin fics where Merlin doesn’t realize that he outranks all the other servants and should NOT have to hand wash laundry or polish armour himself (let alone muck out the stables)

So, since I cannot rant about this somewhere else, I'm gonna rant over here.

A few days ago, I've started reading another Merthur fic on AO3, I've noticed after a few chapters, that the write of this fic repeated some paragraphs by accident, so I've commented on it so that she'll know to edit it whenever she could, I asked her if it was on purporse, and she was like, 'oh s*it, I forgot to delete this, thank you'. We had a nice conversation, and I told her that if I'll see other errors like the one I found, then I'll comment to her about it again.

I did comment again a few times, and the author answered to me, and I thought that we were on good terms. After almost finishing rhe fic, I've commented about the action of one character, and pointed out to her another error, so that I could help her out when she'll edit her fic again.

Today I started reading the second part in the series of the fic, and it turns out that she bloody blocked me. I do not know why, I do not understand why she did it. I wanted to criticize sone stuff, but I asked for permission beforehand, and didn't write one, so I seriously do not understand why a writer would block soneone that helped her out for furure edits! I feel like I've watsed my bloody time, commenting, and pointing out stuff that she should've noticed before publishing a fic, for example, repeating the same sentences and paragraphs on the same chapter, and while I do not judge a writer who makes mistakes, it is not my job to edit those, I'm not a beta nor the writer, and I still helped her out. She even commented to me that she had seen my comments and that she'll edit the fic when she'll have the time, and I answered to her "hey, no pressure, if I'll see more errors like that, I'll comment again", and then she bloody blocks me!

I even told her that I get it that people do this kind of mistakes, and complimented her that I hadn't found any gramnatical errors, which is a hard thing to do!

And then she blocks me, and I cannot even ask her why, why did she block someone who just wanted to help her out, and had positive feedback on her fic.

And the thing is, that in her profike she writes that she's open to criticism, and I did not criticize her!

And also, has she asked ne, I would've stopped commenting about it, and only commented about the fic itself. Maybe it hurt her feelings, but honestly, I think that I've commented about the errirs 4 tines, and most of my conment were about the fic, and why I thought about the characters, but onstead of trying ti talk, she blicked me, and now I cannot comment about what I thought about the chapters I've read fron the second part of the fic...

I'm so annoyed and hurt right now. Maybe I shouldn't try to help writers again...

I'm looking fir a Merthur fic I've once read on Ao3.

Arthur was a vampire, and he needed Merlin's help, Merlin was a wizard. At the start of the fic they couldn't stand each other, but at the end, they were in love, and Arthur almost died and Merlin revealed himself to be a Dragonlord, and saved him.

It was in modern era, Merlin was a Dragonlord, which had only been revealed at the end, and was kind of a sectet.

I think that maybe they fought against Uther, Arthur's father, which was also a vampire, bur I dob't remember anything.

I remember a scene wherein Arthur drank Merlin's blood in this office/library, but I'm not really sure about that as well.

If someone knows this fic, and can send me a link, a name, an author's nane, please comment or send a message to me. I've tried looking for this fic for years, I've tried many tags, and couldn't find it, I'm hoping that it hasn't been deleted.

ועכשיו ברצינות, כל מי שיכול, מאמין קצת, בבקשה תקדישו כמה דקות על מנת לקרוא ברכה לשלום חיילינו היקרים ואנשי כוחות הביטחון.

מצורפת הברכה:

מִי שֶׁבֵּרַךְ אֲבוֹתֵינוּ

אַבְרָהָם יִצְחָק וְיַעֲקֹב,

הוּא יְבָרֵךְ אֶת חַיָּלֵי צְבָא הַהֲגַנָּה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל

[וְאַנְשֵׁי כֹּחוֹת הַבִּטָּחוֹן],

הָעוֹמְדִים עַל מִשְׁמַר אַרְצֵנוּ וְעָרֵי אֱלֹהֵינוּ,

מִכׇּל צָרָה וְצוּקָה,

וּמִכׇּל נֶגַע וּמַחֲלָה,

וְיִשְׁלַח בְּרָכָה וְהַצְלָחָה בְּכָל מַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵיהֶם.

יַדְבֵּר שׂוֹנְאֵינוּ תַּחְתֵּיהֶם,

וִיעַטְּרֵם בְּכֶתֶר יְשׁוּעָה וּבַעֲטֶרֶת נִצָּחוֹן.

וִיקֻיַּם בָּהֶם הַכָּתוּב (דברים כ,ד):

"כִּי יְיָ אֱלֹהֵיכֶם הַהֹלֵךְ עִמָּכֶם,

לְהִלָּחֵם לָכֶם עִם אֹיְבֵיכֶם

לְהוֹשִׁיעַ אֶתְכֶם".

וְנֹאמַר: "אָמֵן".
