I’m going on a bit of a rant but here we go! Ok so Carry On by Rainbow fucking Rowell is fucking amazing. I literally despise fantasy novels (except Harry Potter but who doesn’t love Harry?) anyways I only picked it up because I loved Fangirl and Eleanor and Park so much so I thought why not? Twenty pages in I’m regreting my choice then suddenly like five pages later I’m intruiged and I can’t put this book down. Fast forward a couple hundred pages and I’m completely engrossed in this world full of magic where the gay relationship is canon (for once) and I just couldn’t contain my enjoyment. I read that book in less than four hours because I loved it so much and when I read that last sentence I just couldn’t even deal with the thought that it was finished. I immediately went to fanfiction, fanart, and literally my world turned into snowbaz. I haven’t felt a stronger urge to read fanfic or see all this fanart since I joined the phandom (quite a few years ago) so this was such a sensation to finally see these characters, who I feel like I need to protect at all costs, brought to life by so many people. There’s also no drama in the fandom which is 10/10. This book was phenomenal and I loved every single page of it (especially page 342 ;) ) but all in all I really do recommend checking out this book which was literally a fanfiction written by a fictional character in another one of Rainbow Rowells books.

from Hannah Montana to Wizards of Waverly place,Disney has most definitely had its ups and downs but what’s 10/10 about the “new and improved” Disney is Andi Mack. I have watched this show from the beginning because disney and teen pregnancy didn’t really match up so I obviously wanted to see how the kid friendly, sunshine and rainbows channel portrayed a teen mom(their portrayal is actually not that bad in my opinion but it could be a lot better) but I only stayed thanks to a character named Cyrus. Now so many rumors were circulating that Cyrus was gay since the beginning but it’s only been revealed in the recent season( season two). It literally had me in tears because it was so sweet and meaningful. Yes it may be super controversial to have this gay character on the show (since you know disney is a no homo zone) but disney went for it and risked having controversial backlash but here we are, the media and parents couldn’t care less. I feel like this is a huge step for Disney to acknowledge the fact that there are in fact LGBTQ+ youth and that’s it’s ok because I have to admit I assumed the would be like Chick-fil-a (who used their money to screw over LGBTQ+ people) or at least that they would never have an openly gay character since it’s a kids show and obviously exposing your kids to gay shit will make them gay (which is obviously true) but honestly I’m so relieved that pop culture is finally acknowledging this huge community. I honestly think this is one of the best Disney shows out there and I would rate it a strong 7/10 so I definitely recommend watching it if you aren’t.
