Survived another Holiday D&D program, running a five session campaign with six autistic kids. Having run a bunch of these and needing to mix things up, I decided to use some minis and mats from an Aliens board game i own.

So in the first session the party set out to defeat the evil necromancer Mazdek The Malignant- only for them and Mazdek to be beamed up by a ship full of xenomorphs. Over the course of the next few sessions it became clear that the party were deeply uninterested in preventing the xenomorph threat from spreading, and in fact allied with Mazdek and assisted him in procuring a Xeno egg. In the end they escaped the ship, leaving it still full of xenomorphs and with its automated systems continuing on to take it to new worlds, abducting random people to keep running in perpetuity. Mazdek was not only allowed to keep the egg, two party members joined him (well one of them had died and been resurrected under his thrall without the others noticing but still) and the party returned to their employers to be like "well technically we drove away the Necromancer and he's someone else's problem now"

All up, pretty standard stuff.

What's up tiktok today I'm doing the True Name Challenge, here's my driver's license and credit card, make sure to like and follow and in the next post I'll show you the numbers on the back,

so, my daytime grown up job is working in a shop. in the last week, ive have two customers loudly shout their pin numbers across the shop, a woman tell me she keeps all her banking information, passwords and pin numbers in her address book which she keeps in her handbag, and people leaving their phones and/or wallets behind after they leave.

im just saying, if Secret True Names were a thing, there wld be extensive public information campaigns to desperately try to stop people sharing them with complete strangers. and they would fail.

A Brain With Autism And Anxiety And Depression All At Once.

It's somehow been a year since Mistholme ended, which feels impossible but who am i to argue. It warms my heart to see people still mention the show every now and again: people relistening, people finding the show for the first time, and people still putting off finishing the show because they don't it to end.

But everything has to end, so new things can begin.

In addition to Tales From The Low City (and my day job which doesn't count) I've also spent a good bit of this last year working on a new show, and as I've finally begun recording dialogue it feels like the anniversary of my first show ending feels like a good time to finally talk about my next one!

The Night Road is a full cast audio drama about a group of people who travel the Night Road: a place of endless night between the perpetual daylight of towns and cities. Traders, labourers, entertainers and simple travellers, the Caravans and the Road they follow are the lifeblood of the world, bridging the gaps between civilisation... and what lies beyond. They travel so that others don't have to, so the many can live lives of comfort in unending light and never have to brave the darkness beyond the walls. Never have to find out if the bedtime stories of Darklings and other things that go bump in the Night really are just stories.

Of course they are.

The truth is, as ever, much stranger.

I've been working on a new show for a while, it's not quite ready yet but I've written about 46,000 words and cast a few people. People on the Patreon have been reading the scripts as I write them, 7 scripts are complete with an 8th coming along slowly.

It's still unclear when I'll start releasing episodes, but, you know, get an appropriately small level of hyped for whenever that is.

I made an attempt at drawing Beast from the Mistholme pod !! My god this was difficult. I have such a clear image of it in my head but it is so hard to translate into actual visuals. I think I'll try again on digital at some point, though, so that I can fiddle with the proportions much easier :)
