Anachronistic, idealistic, lovably misinformed.

Hot take: raising kids is the natural tonic for aging. Even as you yourself become limited in certain ways (tired, less cool), you get to participate in the life of someone immune to these problems, one who has many problems otherwise which your resources and experience can address.
If you do your job right, the relationship is symbiotic. The halls of your home will be filled with laughter and energy even after your body stops to emit them.

If you don’t love me at my “it’s weird that happened again, could there be an underlying cause?” you don’t deserve me at my “screw them, they don’t know what they’re talking about.”

Uncomfortable truth: if self-improvement were possible, it wouldn’t be necessary.

Uncomfortable truth: I don’t like for others to be themselves. Every sharp edge requires a soft thing to wrap around it. The more freedom you use, the less remains for the rest of us.

Thinking about Rudolph and how society will abide weirdness if and only if it is harnessed (literally) in fulfillment of some technical task.
“Then all the reindeer loved him.”

He had a spirit which attached itself to things: which stickiness might be called “love,” except that his own estimations never deemed it worthy of this grandiosity of expression. It was, in all fairness, more like unto stubbornness.

As much as the sunset belongs to me,
Its final moments I resign to miss,
In good pleasure avoiding that violence
For an object I hold to pull itself free.

I would get up… except that everything good has already happened, and that nothing truly good has ever happened.

I went to the Ocean today. The Ocean was amazed to hear of all that has happened since I last visited the Ocean. The Ocean showed me things that had not figured into my estimations. I am grateful to have visited the Ocean.

Honing my personal life philosophy, which admittedly has some still sharp edges:
It is very difficult to do anything well.
In our day and age, I see people make one of two (what I humbly feel to be) mistakes:
1) Avoiding the distinction between good and bad (which is to deny the existence of ideals).
2) Claiming the good is easily obtained (which is to conflate ideals with reality).
Transcendent reality is out there. Keep the faith, stay the path, etc. and so forth.
