Dude, no. For me, the worst part of applying to a roleplay is the terrible ambiguous period just after it starts when you have to wait to make sure that the admins aren't going to lose heart and shut the whole roleplay down after you did all that work of applying.
the worst part about applying to a roleplay is having to wait to be accepted knowing there are other auditions and no matter how confident you are in your abilities to portray a character and your own writing, you’re still afraid that that one audition will be better than yours.

This is Judith Chemla. She's basically a young Andromeda Tonks, right? I think she'd make a great faceclaim for Andromeda. Yep.

Hope that helps.
Let me know if there's a particular movie or tv show's actors who you'd like to see added to the list. I like doing them in bundles.
Heh. Bundles. I like that word.
Bundles.

You are being rude when you treat other people as if they are not as important as you are.
You are being rude when you insist on being first.
You are being rude when you insist on saving the best for yourself.
You are being rude when you insist on having the most for yourself.
You are being rude when you insist that everyone notice you and no one else.
You are being rude when you insist on having your own way all the time.
When you are being rude, you are being selfish and unkind. Other people might not want to be with you when you are being rude.
Try not to be rude. Do not insist on being first. Wait patiently for your turn.
Try not to be rude. Do not insist on having the best for yourself.
Try not to be rude. Do not insist on having the most for yourself.
Try not to be rude. Do not insist that everyone notice you and no one else.
Try not to be rude. Do not insist on having your own way all the time.
Avoid being rude by doing these things:
Avoid saying anything that would hurt anyone.
Avoid breaking or ruining anyone’s things.
Avoid talking while other people are talking.
Avoid being noisy around people who need to have quiet.
It is important to treat other people the way you want to be treated.
If you do not want people to be rude to you, you must not be rude to them.

And Sarah Gadon might make a good faceclaim for Helga Hufflepuff.
Tumblr media
Sarah Gadon (F, 1987, Canadian): blonde hair, blue eyes, light skin
So there's that, too.
By the way, the miniseries called World Without End and Pillars of the Earth are both great resources for medieval faceclaims.

Broad Tips on Accent-Writing
Try to write legibly. Think firstly about the readability of the word or phrase and secondly about how thickly you can lay on an accent. If no one, the reader included, understands what your character is saying, you’ve undermined the whole reason for written communication: to convey meaning. When you’re just starting out, try having someone look over your dialogue in terms of readability so that readers don’t get frustrated trying to decipher your dialogue.
Give the reader a little credit. You won’t need to spell out a word phonetically (tah-nik in lieu of tonic, for example) in order for them to get the suggestion of an accent. If you want to designate that word as an accent marker, something like tawnic might do just fine. Sometimes its not about conveying an accent with every word in a given line of dialogue; sometimes it's more effective to alter only one word, the right word, and let the reader's imagination do the heavy lifting.
Be consistent. If you start off writing your r’s as ah’s, for example, it’d be nice to carry that change in pronunciation throughout. You'll also want to make sure your spelling for the altered words is consistent—that means a change from your to yer should be yer everywhere yer applies and not sometimes yir. To streamline this sometimes complicated process, try altering specific words or phrases that you think will lend your character the suggestion of an accent without weighing you down with the added work of constantly altering spellings or remembering unfamiliar slang.  Roleplayers, if you find you bit off more than you can chew, try dialing back the accent gradually instead of cutting the ah’s all at once.
Thanks for reading!

"This is offensive," is not the only reasonable, intelligent reaction to any and all things that happen in culture.
Yes. And reminds me of my post from June: Feminist media criticism and the problem with binary thinking

So I think that Idris Elba, Adina Porter, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett would make a nice family of faceclaims. You'd have to play Nathan younger, like 23-ish. I think it'd work. Yes.
Idris Elba (M, 1972, British): black hair, brown eyes, dark skin
Adina Porter (F, 1971, American): black hair, dark brown eyes, dark skin
Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (M, 1985, British): black hair, black eyes, dark skin
Yes good.

Faceclaims Inspired by “Wires" by The Neighborhood
Jonathan Rhys Meyers (M, 1977, Irish): brown hair, blue eyes, light skin
Krysten Ritter (F, 1981, American): dark brown/black hair, hazel eyes, light skin
Zoe Saldana (F, 1978, American): dark brown/black hair, brown eyes, medium/dark skin
Nico Tortorella (M, 1988, American): brown hair, blue eyes, light skin
Sometimes it's a sweet face and a soft word. Sometimes it's a presence like an open airlock at 30,000 feet. Sometimes it's just raw sex appeal. These are the faces of characters who can play the game better than you. They may be going to hell, but they'll be on the V.I.P. list when they get there.

You could definitely give any of these faceclaims green eyes in about five minutes with Photoshop (here is a tutorial and here is another tutorial). I think they'd do well for Weasley faceclaims too, though I still see a very unique Lily Evans when I look at each of them. For me, each face sort of emphasizes a different aspect of Lily.
Anna Lutoskin → Individuality and Strength
Quinn Cooper → Stubbornness and Micheviousness
Amanda Smith → Intelligence and Creativity
Katerina Martinovska → Kindness and Honesty
Ah well. I suppose everyone's got their own opinion.

Four Models Who’d Make Stellar Lily Evans Faceclaims
Katerina Martinovska (F, ???, Czech): red hair, blue eyes, light skin
Anna Lutoskin (F, 1990, Hungarian): red hair, blue eyes, light skin
Quinn Cooper (F, ???, Canadian): red hair, blue eyes, light skin
Amanda Smith (F, ???, American): red hair, hazel eyes, light skin
Sometimes I think this community has only heard of like ten red-haired people ever, so here are a few models who would be fresh faces in the Harry Potter RP community.
Also, look at them! They actually look like they’re ‘70’s faceclaims. Go team me!

Shut up and go crazy. Light something on fire and blow on the flame until you can't breathe. Drink until you don't remember your own name. Here, take this. You'll feel like fizz in champagne, sweetheart. Tomorrow can wait until your older. Go on, darling. Live while you're young.
