So i’ve been reading a fun fanfic lately and decided to draw the first scene!

The fanfic in question is What Is True Redemption? by Kechirusu on Ao3. I think the author is a little crazy with how often the fic gets a new chapter but I love it so much and I hope to make more art soon :D

i will literally never be able to hate akechi, bc when i look at him, all i see is that little boy who loved his mother more than anything, who wanted to be a hero, a good person, to be kind.

and then he experienced nothing but pain and suffering after his mom died (and even before she died, their life wasn’t great), and hardened into the worst version of himself over the years, someone he never even wanted to be.

he was used and abused and neglected and manipulated by every adult in his life, including his mother (bc yes, while i’m sure she absolutely loved him and did her best, she absolutely neglected him when she was alive).

i honestly don’t get how i couldn’t feel overwhelming sympathy for someone like that, who deserved so so sooooo much better than that.

“oh but he killed ppl and-“ i actually, genuinely, dgaf 😭 and clearly, neither does akiren, considering how much he pines and cares for the guy lmao.
