Drago Gear Tactical Double Gun Case

The Drago Gear tactical double gun case is a piece of gear I own.  I want to point out this is technically considered a gun case, but I use it for so much more.  There are many pros to this product, but there are a couple of cons I will point out as well.  If you are looking for a gun case that you will just transport to and from the range, there are cheaper options.  If you utilize it the way I do, I think it is worth the money and highly recommend this bag.  I carry this bag with me as a type of "go bag", which means I have all of the necessary items I would need in a crisis situation.   The reason for buying this bag, was that I wanted a way to consolidate my gear into a "bag" that I could grab when needed that would make the items accessible to me when needed.  I am talking about something such as a mass shooting scenario.

Specs

600 Denier Padded back straps for carry like a backpack if needed. Length is 36"  3 Large storage compartments in front.  Pouches are closed with a drawstring, velcro AND latches. Carry compartment for 2 rifles, with straps and padding to protect both during transport. MOLLE webbing on both ends in the front of the bag for additional attachments or storage. The large front pockets are deep, and allow you to hold many different items.  In addition to storing gear in the front, I also store a pistol in one of the pockets.  The pockets will retain all gear with a draw string, velcro and the latches.  The ends of each side on the front have MOLLE webbing, as well as a zipper pocket for more storage. The front of this bag opens to reveal more storage.  The inside of the front of the bag contains 2 large zippered storage areas.  The other side has 2 velcro closed pockets that work well as pistol storage as seen below.  

The main feature of this bag is the ability to carry 2 rifles.  There is a limitation with this bag as it is only 36" long.  My piston driven AA-15 fits inside the bag, however my shotgun is about 2 inches too long.  The rifles have pockets on each end to rest the muzzle and the stock into.  The rifles are secured with velcro straps and held tight and secure.  They do not move around once locked in.  There is a padded protective barrier between rifle compartments to protect the rifles.   There is a padded optic protector on only one side of the bag.  I purchased my bag for 79.99 at Academy Sports.  This bag is also available from Amazon.  I highly recommend this bag, with all of its storage and features, I am very pleased with the purchase.  Click to see this on Amazon As happy as I am with this bag, there are a couple things that bug me.  The front end pockets are deep, but I tried to put a couple of magazines in there and they were difficult to get out quickly.  The other thing is, I love the fact it has the back pack straps, but they can be a pain in the ass day to day as they are always hanging there.  I intend to find a way to strap them tight, but I do like having them for the flexibility.  Read the full article

Last year I decided it was time to put a camera system of some sort into my house. I started researching what was available and was surprised at all of the options. I was looking for small, high quality picture, easy setup, and something that was cost effective. The reason I wanted something inside was to have the ability to check on my kids when they arrive home from school, and have the piece of mind to be able to view my home interior at any time. The WyzeCam has a plastic housing, and base.  The base is magnetic,  it also ships with a 6 foot power cord and an adhesive backed metal plate that you can stick anywhere and hang without hardware or tools.   The size of this camera and it's ability to be moved anywhere close to a power outlet are a major positive.  We move ours, depending on where we want to observe.  The viewing angle is 110 degrees and very wide to capture our entire living room, and we also have one in our babies bedroom.  The camera works well in complete darkness but it does have about a 30 foot distance for night vision.  If you have items too close to the front of the camera, at night or in darkness they will illuminate very bright and almost white out the view.   The speakers work sell to hear what is going on in the room, but talking through the camera is not perfect, but pretty good.    Setup is a breeze through the app, and easy to view.  For the price, you can't beat all of the features and benefits for $25 bucks.https://youtu.be/kRytpc3q4LwWyzeCam also has a new pan cam that allows you so rotate the camera and see the entire room.  This pan cam is not something I have any experience with.  The pan cam retails for $37.98 which includes shipping. Common Sense Prepping

Planning and preparing is something we all do.  If we are traveling out of town on vacation or for business, we pack items we think we will need while away from home.  Being prepared for what may arise during your travel.  What about at home?  We have basic items around our house in case of an emergency such as a fire extinguisher or a first aid kit.  Is there something else you can do to make life easier when things go bad?  How can you protect your family when there is an event that may present a danger?  Are you going to be proactive, or reactive?  If you are interested in getting started, where do you begin?  Below you will find a very basic way to start preparing yourself, your family, and your home for real life events. The term "prepper" has a stigma associated with it.  If you are labeled a prepper, you are generally stereotyped as someone that stockpiles tons of food, water, guns and ammo awaiting the zombie apocalypse, or some kind of major world event that will collapse society.  This is not who I am, nor anyone I know.  We are simply proactive, like minded individuals that are ready when something occurs. Something to remember is that you are looking out for the safety of your family, kids, siblings, spouse, and yourself.  This is a selfish lifestyle as you do not extend resources out to anyone that needs them.  Yourself and your family comes first.

Your Home

Your home is your safe space.  All of the preps, gear, and food will not matter, if your home is not maintained and in good working order.  When beginning, this is the first place to start.  The most basic things you should do is maintain your fire alarms, and you should have a carbon monoxide detector on each floor of the house.  I have a simple ranch house, and I have on downstairs near the furnace area, as well as near all of the bedrooms.  I make sure all of the fire alarms have batteries and are in good working order.   Below are a couple of carbon monoxide detectors available from Amazon.

Staying Charged During Power Outage

Keeping your electronics charged during a power outage

Staying charged during power outages in important for many reasons, mainly for communication and the ability to call for help if the need arises.Power outages can occur at any time, for a variety of reasons.  the most common being storms or weather events.   These outages can occur at any time, whether your phone is charged or not. With a majority of people owning cell phones, the traditional landline in a home is rare.  Landlines will work for communication even with the loss of power.   With cell phones being the dominant communication line, it is important to keep charged to be able to call for help, or communicate with family or friends.  Lets look at some real options, available to you to keep your gadgets charged when there is no power.  These options we will go over will cover keeping your cell phone charged as well as CPAP machines, and more.  I recommend using these and checking the charge at least once a month.  These are completely useless unless you keep them charged.
