Crisis Zone by Simon Hanselmann is amazing.

It’s a perfect encapsulation of the early pandemic and every fucked up paranoid feeling and problem that happened at that time. Also it brings the usual filth and ridiculousness of these characters.

Thanks to all the negative press about Dragon Age, Gamestop is dumping their inventory at half price! So I finally picked it up and it’s been fun and interesting so far.

First impressions: it’s Mass Effect 2 but Dragon Age, Neve is a badass and I really, really like her despite that I’ve only been with her for a short while. She is smart and tough and I love her design.

The character selection screen that have typical realistic faces for Western RPGs plus pronoun selectors are what irritate nazis and related assholes who reject anything that isn’t pandering to them aka Stellar Blade. They call them “ugly” faces when they aren’t perfect anime waifu sim faces with giant breasts and childish brainless tropes for personalities.

That selection screen is different than a lot of RPGs that I have played and in a good way. It’s clear that the creators’ vision is not about placating the same old white male 20-30 triggered assholes. Instead they made space for queer, non-binary, trans and realistic women to be represented and THAT is what these pieces of trash have issue with.

I see it, I recognize it as different and move on to play the damn game.

First time getting called “descendant of colonizers” in public today. Privilege is laughing and moving on with my day which I did.

I don’t know how to help the people in my life who are suffering from mental illness. I have come to understand that I can only do so much and for the people and places we do help, it’s enough. My kid asked yesterday “if you could have any super power, what would it be?”. He was disappointed when I said “healing others”. I just think that would be the coolest super power ever. No flight, no invisibility, just Poof! and you’re healed. Maybe it wouldn’t help this woman, maybe it would. I got real superstitious about wishes when I was a kid so I never use the phrase “I wish”, but I’ll use it if it meant healing everyone.
