"The Masque of The Red Death" Happy full moon of Halloween🌕! , this month I wanted to make a 3D representation of the famous Edgar Allan Poe's tale, The Masque of The Red Death, this is one of my favorite tales of Poe. but if you haven't read it yet I'm going to make a little abridgment, (but I highly recommend you to read the original tale). This tale is about a plague that has been unleashed in a country, this plague is known as The Red Death. The prince of the country and his wealthy nobles moved to the prince's abbey, this to avoid the fatal and horrify disease. That night the prince has a idea, celebrate a masquerade in his abbey, the party was celebrated in seven rooms, each room decorated with differents colors, blue, purple, green, orange, white, violet and black; but the black room strangely had a red window with a ebony clock in front of it. The party started, It was all laughter and smiles at first... yeah at first. In the middle of the party someone that has't been invited, dressed with a strange cape and a mask passes across all the rooms, and stops in the ebony clock on the black room. This figure is The Red Death itself. "And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night. "The Roman Dodecahedron" ¡New 3D art!, the Roman Dodecahedron date from the 2nd to 4th centuries AD, consists in a hollow object of copper, has twelve flat pentagonal faces, each face has a circular hole of varying diameter in the middle, all the holes are connecting to the hollow center. There are speculative theories about his use, could be a survey instrument for distances calculation, or a device for winter prediction, ¿maybe has relationship with the money?, some people believe that maybe was a religious artifact; others think that is just a kids toy. Happy Samhain my friends, today I'm gonna tell you the origins of Halloween.🎃 Before you start to reading please drop your like if your like my 3D art for this Halloween. Let's get started. The party that we celebrate of Halloween or All Hallows Eve, is nothing that the most important in the Celtic mythology, the party of Samhain. Today I'm gonna tell you from where comes this party but we need to return to the iron age. In the Celtic culture the year wasn't separate in stations, rather in two halves, light and darkness, Samhain mark the beginning of the darkness time, that's because is when the last harvest is done. This is the new Celtic year, and yeah it's confusing but the Celts used a different calendar that works with the solstices and equinoxes. And this party endure for three nights, the first three full moons of the month, mostly know as Samonios. The last night of Samhain is called the night of the spirits, that night is supposed to be the void or the pass between the dark and the light. This creates a bridge that connects the living world with the death one. That allows us to get together with ours loved ones who have died, but that also create a bridge for the bad spirits.👻 So, this is the origin of Halloween, I hope that you liked the 3D art that I made and if the information was entertaining too. "Inari Ōkami(稲荷大神)" I created a little representation on 3D of the ancient Fushimi Inari Taisha. I'm grandly would like to visit it in person, i hope that i will in the future. Fushimi Inari is a sanctuary dedicated to the Inari spirit(稲荷), for the Shintoism inari is the goddess of the rice, fertility and businesses. Before entering into the sanctuary you need to cross the torii(鳥居). The torii is a gate, the gateway to the sacred precinct of a Shinto shrine. Past the door, there are two foxes guarding the main hall, the name of this foxes it's Kitsune(狐), don't forget to bow before crossing. The road was built thanks to the merchants who donate his torii, the reason is to ask the Inari goddess for prosperity in their businesses. "Vimana: The vehicles of the Gods". A small representation on 3D of this mythological Hinduist flying vehicle. I created this for practice modeling in Maya, and test the new version of V-ray 5 for cinema 4D. Curious fact: ancient documents described the Vimanas as vehicles that can be used in wars if it's necessary, some people say they can use an invisible mode.
