Claes Bang Struggles with his own insecurity: "Bad reviews hit me like a freight train"

There is a new interview with Claes on BT.dk where he talks about the pandemic, his current acting projects - and about THIS IS NOT AMERICA! It also includes a short video.

Here is a basic translation of the video:

"If I'm tired of having someone decide all day: Claes, you're gonna stand there, you're gonna walk there, you're gonna say that.'

Then I can fucking decide everything for myself."

Actor Claes Bang has just released an EP - The music is 100% himself.

"It goes without saying that it will probably be more vulnerable because it's from the bottom of me."

In the film 'The Burnt Orange Heresy' he starred last year with Mick Jagger himself. Did you play a little for him and hear what he thinks?

"No, you don't really dare. Not if you're me at least."

Claes was on radio in Denmark yesterday where, along with his latest film projects, he discussed This Is Not America! He talked about how This Is Not America got it's name, playing in bands until the acting took over and the new EP. He said how proud he was to have Gangway's Henrik Balling produce his new music.

Just For A While was also played!! 🤩🎶

Claes has shared the original demo for "Just For A While" to give us an insight into the journey the song has taken: from his original demo to the final version with Henrik Balling's production.

"Just For A While" Song facts:

■ Just For A While was released on April 9 2021. It is the first single to be released from the upcoming “Songs Of Love” EP.

■ It is produced by writer and producer Henrik Balling Balling is most notable for being a member of Danish band Gangway.

Claes has been a fan of Gangway for almost 40 years and calls himself "Denmark’s biggest Gangway fan!" He credits Balling as being one of his greatest musical heroes.

■ Balling became involved after Kasper Winding (producer for Lullaby and Butterflies In December) suggested the collaboration and introduced Claes to Henrik.

■ Construction of the song: “Parts of 'Just for a while' are quite old, first part of the chorus, the 'Just for a while'-bit is ten years old, and I could just never come up with a verse to go with it. I then came up with what is now the verse, the 'Breaking all the rules'-bit, but that started out being the chorus, until I took the 'Is it just'-bit from another song and flipped it all around, and it shaped up the way it is now. And then along came Gangway hero Henrik Balling and he did his magic.” - Claes

■ Lyrics: "The lyrics for both choruses are quite old but I just thought they still seemed to fit, with covid gridlocking and stalemating everything.” - Claes
