Hey

I need to be transparent about something.

I’m not mentally well at the moment. I had an incident at school, and I’ve begun unpacking some emotional stuff.

Being a presence here, and on social media in general, has taken so much from me.

It’s not harassment. It’s the invisible pressure. The pressure to post regularly, the comparison I’ve felt to other artists and the damage it’s done to my self esteem. In general social media has taken so much from me and given so little in return.

I’m sick of tying myself into knots so other people will like me.

I don’t even know why I’m writing this.

I want to share my art. But all the pressure I’ve been feeling has only eaten me. I don’t know what to do.

Most likely scenario, I’ll take a break from this app. I need some peace of mind.

Welp, my ref for Callie is taking longer than I expected… mainly because I decided to start Marie’s as well, and I told myself I wouldn’t resume work on page 2 UNTIL both refs are finished…

If you think having trump as our president is bad enough, imagine having him for 23 years The president of Turkey, who has been in power for 23 years has arrested and detained his biggest political opponent. Because of this, protests have been happening in Turkey. How have you not heard of it? Especially not on Twitter/X? Because Musk is working with the government to silence any talk about the protests. Over 300+ students have been arrested and protesters have been physically and sexually assaulted by police. Journalists have been detained and silenced from reporting on what's been happening. The government has responded poorly and want to get away with it. They cannot get away with this. You can read more here

Having Miis be a bisexual species by nature is a fucking hilarious idea and honestly, if that’s what happens I’m all for it

so we have one of two options regarding how they'll handle gay people in Tomodachi Life 2/Living the Dream (operating under the assumption they ARE in fact going to keep their promise and have gay people in this game):

option 1. toggleable switch. you can choose if your Mii is gay or not. simple, but effective. homophobes are going to complain about it but they're inevitably going to complain regardless of how they handle gay people so

option 2. the funnier option, and honestly the one I think they're going to go with just based on the track record of the Mii games (specifically Miitopia) - there is no toggle. everyone is bisexual. you can and Will have a random Mii on your island suddenly turn out to be gay and there's nothing you can do about it

Splatober 2024: part 2

More about each piece under the cut, if you’re interested:

Day 19: this one got delayed thanks to me going to see The Wild Robot. Great movie. Anyways, that’s my Neo 3, Aria… one of the Neo 3s that is.

Day 20: needs no introduction.

Day 23: Acht, once again pretty plain and simple. The quote in the background is from the book Ninteen Eighty-Four, I know it’s pretty hard to make out.

Day 24: Yummy illegal experimentation. My upcoming comic deals a lot with Fuzzification, it’s just a super fun concept to write with (even if it’s a pain to draw). OC doesn’t exactly have a name yet, quote is from Spooky’s Jumpscare mansion (again with the obscure quotes, but I thought it fit too well)

Day 26: My rendition of, in my opinion, one of the best moments in the franchise. Side order was a joy to play. Really striving to replay it but not sure how to at the moment

Day 29: Can’t go Splatober without the iconic heavenly melody. This piece has to do with OC lore, but I’m not gonna reveal it right now…

Day 30: Grizz. He’s of course gonna be in MoM as well, I have fun writing him.

Day 31: Splatoween! And more of Shiver’s Sharkspeak on display.

Splatober 2024: part 1

First batch of last year’s Splatober drawings!

Some context for each individual piece below

Day 1: Inkee. She’s my oldest Splat OC, all the way back from 2020 when I first got into the franchise.

Day 4: Frye!

Day 7: another OC, Sam. She’s based off the same character from Totally Spies! and is planned to show up in Mind Over Mammal. She may or may not have a rivalry with another character…

Day 8: yes, another OC (Suki) with an unnamed Octotrooper

Day 9: the Raylings! I have a whole future project planned out for these guys, but I’ll have to get MoM out of the way first

Day 10: Judd. Just Judd.

Day 14: once again an OC, but I promise it’s the last one. The little one’s name is Nike, and she’s actually my Pearlina Fankid!

Day 16: one of my favorite Splatober pieces. Shiver here is shown with a power (or, more so a curse) known as Sharkspeak. Thats… a whole other post in the making since it’s quite complicated, and it’s the focus of another future project.
