Hello Friends! :)

Today I would like to show you a simple trick I use to add more definition to my gifs. :)

Please keep in mind at this point in these gifs there is no coloring layers but I do use vapoursynth before I even open photoshop. These examples are vs + high pass + smart sharpen + noise. To do this you are going to start by converting your gif into a smart object. Once you have that you want to duplicate the smart object and go to Filter -> Other -> High Pass and use these settings. You will then set the blending mode to "Hard Light" and adjust to your liking.

From here you want to on your original copy of the smart object gif complete your sharpening and add noise (if you wish). I use smart sharpen twice with these settings:

From there you color as you would like and VIOLA! HD gifs. This works really for a lot of MV and Variety content. However, I don't recommend on stage gifs as they get a little funky with all the movement! Cheers! :)
