jesus and an apostle
TIL anyone who's going to overwinter in Antarctica has to have had their appendix out. Because removing an appendix that's not causing any trouble just as a precaution is way better than having one that's about to burst when you're on the ass-end of the planet with no way to be rushed to a hospital if shit gets real.

anyone who argues that trans men/mascs do not face sexual exploitation, unwanted sexual advances, or general sexual impropriety because "they're men" or because "trans men aren't sexualized in general" owes every male victim, trans or cis, of assault 4 billion dollars & six of their fingers.

Something that needs to be pointed out, when we talk about trans men supposedly benefiting from the patriarchy, we correctly point out how this is a very western theory. I’m sure an abled bodied, upper class, white, stealth, cis passing trans man with a fully supportive family, benefits from all of that in many ways, however that’s obviously very few trans men.
But also, Americans, we have religious cults/extremist patriarchal communities in our own fucking backyards for fucks sake. It may not be as common and prevalent as it is in the global south, and the severity is a lot different, but we too also have communities where there’s arranged marriages reinforced with violence, rape, and other forms of punishment, and escaping these organized patriarchal cults/communities can be difficult without a cis man’s help. There’s trans men that have escaped from such communities, there’s trans men still trying to find a way out. “Oh that doesn’t happen here, the trans men here have privilege” it sometimes does happen here actually. Is it that surprising? Sundown towns aren’t fully extinct, is it really that shocking we also have communities of religious neo Nazi cults here too? Under the era of Trump, especially? This country isn’t this magical place where such things simply stopped existing.

One of the craziest things I’ve seen come out of these discussions was that period of time where transandrophobes were insistent that the only comprehensible interpretation of Steven Universe was that Steven is a transfem egg and you’re a transmisogynist for saying otherwise. Like. I’m not even going to say obviously that you’re not allowed to have that headcanon but. Steven Universe. You know, the show where the male main character gets deadnamed (literally, Rose is dead), misgendered, forcefully feminized by family and has to say over and over again that he is not the person they want him to be. That people are crazy for interpreting this as a transmasculine allegory. Okay.

The phrase "men don't have uteruses" is not only transandrophobic; saying trans men aren't men for having uteruses— It is also a statement in support of violence against intersex men with uteruses. Intersex people imposed male often have their uteruses forcibly removed, all because of the both intersexist and transandrophobic sentiment that you can't be a Real Man if you have a uterus.

Any trans man: Hey, can we not call reproductive health issues dealing with abortion & pregnancy "women's issues"? I can also get pregnant and in some ways an unwanted pregnancy can even be a significantly higher risk for me as a trans man. It's transphobic to say that men aren't affected by oppressive reproductive health laws, because you are actively excluding trans men from a conversation that very much needs to include them.
Some cis woman coming in to erase me: I'm not transphobic! I think trans women are women and when I talk about ~☆women's issues☆~ I'm including them!
Trans man: But you're excluding me! A man who is clearly more affected by unwanted pregnancy and abortion bans than probably any trans woman on the planet.
Cis woman: Well you shouldn't have become a man if you didn't want me to treat you like a man! Besides, I was *clearly* talking about cis men when I said "men," and you're obviously included when I say "women's reproductive health." Anyway, all men need to shut up about abortion and get vasectomies! I'm a feminist!
... Many such cases, unfortunately. It's absolutely rancid when a cis woman thinks the beginning and end of trans allyship is "trans women are women." Like, yes. Absolutely, and please keep being inclusive of trans women, but don't stop there. Give a fuck about other trans people too. Listen when trans men & transmascs have a unique perspective on cis-centric feminism, because you might realize that there's a whole facet of gender essentialism (transphobia) you're hanging onto. And if we're really lucky, you might realize that a failure to show up for trans men is a failure to show up for all trans people, including trans women.

i think half of being a decent human is just going 'that's not my business'.
someone in a wheelchair stood up? not my business.
someone has a service dog but doesn't visibly need it? not my business.
someone is acting weird? not my business.
someone is participating in a culture i don't understand? not my business.
someone got an abortion? not my business.
someone identifies in a way that doesn't make sense to me? not my business.
someone has a medical issue i don't understand? not my business.
if it doesn't negatively impact me or others, it's not my business. and i will continue to push for legislation that allows people to just live their lives, because why should i or the government have a say in shit that doesn't affect us? it's not our business.

I'm immune to the "what if your mother had an abortion/had aborted you" argument not only because of the whole "if I don't exist how would I care" paradox but also because I recognize my mother as a human being with agency and because I do not consider the concept of motherhood and abortion mutually exclusive. people who had abortions can become parents later on. parents can have abortions. how do know my mother didn't have an abortion at some point? or yours?

"hey i'm opposed to the way you're treating me. I think its unfair and you should be listening to my experiences instead of speaking over me" "you're just a dumb little girl and I don't care what you have to say because you're too young and stupid to know what you're talking about. Your hobbies are stupid, your art is cringey, and your self expression holds no value. Your voice doesn't deserve to be heard, now shut up and let the real men talk, you bitch." "actually I'm a transgender man" "oh sorry. 👩♀️you're just an idiotic privileged ✨Man✨ and I don't care what you have to say because you're too masculine and privileged to know what you're talking about. Your hobbies are stupid, your art is cringey, and your self expression holds no value. Your voice doesn't deserve to be heard, now shut up and let the real feminists talk, you theyfab. 🎀 #girlpower #feminism #keepmenoutofwomensspaces 💖💋"

There is literally no circumstance where I support age verification to access a website. As I've said before I'm very much the "there's nuance here" person on almost everything but on this issue there's no nuance for me, it's awful and horrible in and of itself and it also sets an awful and horrible precedent

Really worried about Chris Smalls. People who spoke up for Greta, should speak up louder for him.
