please note! Alfalfa is great for your bunny’s first solid foods as they wean from mothers milk, though it should only be given sparingly as an adult as a once in a while treat as it can cause bladder sludge (Sandy pee due to too much calcium). If you give your adult bunnies pellets, make sure they are timothy based! 🐰💗

Just harvested the first round of my french lavender! The little bit on the burlap is my baby english lavender plant. The flowers are much sweeter and perfect for baking, while we use the french lavender for tea, to fill sachets, and give to the bunnies! 🍰☕️🌿💜🐰🖤🐰🤎💜

It’s Springtime and my favorite go-to spring tea is now in bloom! Magnolias! Magnolia tea has an excellent source of vitamin C (perfect for fighting spring colds) and is great for relaxation and overall mental health. When harvesting, make sure the bud or flower smells sweet before picking it. There are other trees that smell rotten.. those aren't the flowers you want. 😝

When chopped and seeped when the petals are formed the tea turns the same color as a hibiscus tea. It tastes like fresh dewy spring air with sweet flowers! ☕️😋🥰🌸🌱🌧

You can seep the buds as well as the petals once they’re formed, and can bake with them! The @blackforager has some bommbbb recipes on her profile. Go check her out!🔥🌸

As Easter is approaching and it being the Year of the Rabbit many will want to bring a cute little bunny into their home or create special memories for this time of the year. As your friendly neighborhood bunny rescuer please remember that a new bunny family member is NOT a photo prop for children/babies, NOT a stuffed animal, needs annual vet visits to make sure they're healthy and thriving, they live up to 10+ years, are social but vulnerable animals and cannot be kept in a cage or outside in a pen as they do not do well in the elements or as a snack for local predators, parasites, viruses (RHDV) or strays. Your boy or girl also needs to be neutered as to not aid to the overpopulation problem as shelters and rescues are overflowing and there are not enough fosters to give them a safe happy place to live, nor enough people adopting these buns quick enough. It is important that you do your research before you consider bringing any animal into your home. Rabbits are not easy first-time pets, they are in fact harder to care for than cats or dogs, and can be much more expensive to keep. Please refer to The House Rabbit Society and Lennon the Bunny for more tips on proper rabbit care, appropriate setups for your bunny to live in, and more!
