This collage done by Jack Kirby during his time on Fantastic Four blows my mind. It’s a pretty inventive way of representing an undiscovered world or dimension wish more comics would do this (or maybe they do and I’m just not reading those hmmmmmm…)

Why...It Sure is different

  If you’ve seen my video “It Sure is Different” than maybe you want to know why it turned out the way it did so let me break it down for you. When I began the project I just knew that I wanted to use imagery to assist the sound and that I wanted to try different styles. The first style that came to mind was a collage of moving images that fill the entire screen rocking back in forth with the sounds. This would become the middle portion of the video and I aimed to capture a look similar to magazine cutouts that where combined into a video using stop motion. 

After that I thought what would be another style that barely moved and would contrast with all these moving images. The answer...memes...So I searched the internet for stock images I could use and came across various pictures I would combine into what was shown in the video. To close out my video I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for the final stylistic change so I brainstormed for a bit and came up with pixel art.

I always wanted to learn how to make sprites and pixel art and for whatever reason I thought the final for one of my classes was the best place to start. I like the idea behind this section but it’s probably my least favorite part. I want to add a lot more to it I feel like there needs to be more movement and that the environment is too bland and stiff. This was my first time doing this but I feel like I could still of done more to this section.

So that’s some of the thought behind my project it was difficult, exhausting, draining, and a variety of other things but I had fun doing it. I’m hoping to make more stuff like this in the future I don’t know when exactly but you know... the future and stuff.

If you liked my sound collage and want to see a mass of images moving along with it shown to your eye-holes I got the thing for you. This video was made for my computer art class as a final project there are a couple of areas I would like to clean up but I ran out of time to do so which is a bit of a let down. Whelp at least its finished hope you enjoy it and read the little write up that I’m gonna post about it.
