I have long expressed a desire for some kind of human kibble to exist - it would be so much easier to keep myself healthy if there was some kind of tasty pellet I could eat that has all the nutrients I need
And then the other night I realized that protein cookies exist. If I could adapt a recipe to have more complete nutrition maybe I could actually. Eat enough.
The first recipe I tried was from one of those recipe websites that sucks to use cause the screen is covered in constantly-refreshing ads
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I used peanut butter, chocolate whey protein powder, brown sugar, and no chocolate chips
Baking it didn't exactly make... cookies. More like semi-solid lumps of peanut butter with stuff mixed in it. And it's pretty good!

The appearance is Bad. They look like actual dog turds. But that doesn't bother me too much personally, as long as it smells good, and these just smell overwhelmingly of peanut butter and chocolate
The texture is like slightly dry peanut butter, but the brown sugar makes it a little bit sandy, like cookie dough. It's a little weird to get down (make sure you have water) but after the first couple I got used to it
I've been bringing them to work to make sure I get calories throughout the day - I only ate one yesterday (I was hungry but couldn't get over my food aversion enough to even look at them) but today I had a couple and I felt a lot less bad at the end of the day!

Okay so this is an idea for a blog I've had for a long time that I am finally kicking myself in the pants to make
Are you an autistic and/or otherwise neurodivergent person who is worried you might be developing an eating disorder because your sensory issues and food trauma make it really hard to keep yourself fed? Me too!
I've had to come up with a lot of creative solutions throughout my life to get myself to actually eat food and try to keep myself healthy, and I figured there's probably a lot of other people with similar experiences who could be helped by some of the tricks I've come up with.
I would also love submissions with other people's food solutions - recipes, cooking tips, snack recommendations, anything that's helped you keep yourself fed and getting basic nutrition, feel free to share!
