I visited Sun Chong, an Asian American restaurant located in the French Quarter at: 240 Decatur Street New Orleans, Louisiana for lunch. The space was smaller than I anticipated but it was decorated really beautifully and we were seated quickly despite not having a reservation. The service was great and I have no complaints.
For an appetizer I ordered the Sun Chong chicken and it was delicious. I had a lemon drop that was really good too. My entree was the Yum Yum fried ribs and they were really good. It came with a bok choy and fried rice and everything tasted fresh and delicious. The overall flavor of everything was great. I definitely recommend Sun Chong for anyone looking for an elevated Asian cuisine experience. Overall 8/10.

I visited Los Jefes Grill, a Mexican restaurant in Fat City located at: 3224 Edenborn Ave Metairie, LA 70002 for Taco Tuesday.
I ordered 4 Carne asade tacos with the 2 for 1 margarita special. I frequent Los Jefes a lot and it is always a pleasant experience with good food. On tuesdays they always have a live DJ and it really adds to the overall experience. The servers are always pleasant and I never have any complaints. I would recommend Los Jefes to anyone looking for good food, drinks, and a nice vibe to interact with people.
I rate Los Jefes as an overall 9.5/10.

I visited Rum House, a Caribbean Taqueria restaurant located in the Garden District located at: 3128 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115 for dinner.
I have been several times before and typically sit at the bar. The service is always nice, very typical for any type of restaurant. For an appetizer I had the nachos which are always really good. The portions are huge and shareable. I rate them a 9.5/10. My entree was the jerk chicken with a mango relish, served with greens and fried plantains. I also had the rum punch to drink. Overall this was a 8/10. The food was a good mix of unique flavors. The entire menu offered a great selection of different types of foods to choose from. If anyone is looking for a Caribbean twist to familiar meals I would highly recommend the Rum House.

I recently visited Morrow’s, a restaurant nestled in the historic Faubourg Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans, LA located at: 2438 Saint Claude Ave for an early dinner.
I was sat at the bar and I would say that the service was good, it wasn’t completely over the top but we were catered to well. For an appetizer I ordered the chargrilled oysters. I would rate them a 5.5/10 as they weren’t really my favorite. I prefer more of a garlic taste with oysters and these were more cheesy. For my entree I ordered the fried chicken with collard greens, candy yams, and mac and cheese. I also had a strawberry lemon drop. This was easily a 9/10. I have had the chicken many times and it is always delicious. I would definitely return to Morrow’s. The restaurant has a comfortable feel and a menu that has something for everyone.

I recently visited Chophouse Nola, an upscale steakhouse located at: 322 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130 for dinner.
The service was great, we were immediately seated with a server that had extensive knowledge on the menu. She was extremely welcoming, and definitely contributed to the experience positively. The ambiance was very nice, there was live piano music and candles lit on every table. For my appetizer I had the Baked Shrimp. I ordered the Bone- In Ribeye with a side of Onion Rings and Fries.
I would rate my overall experience as a 9/10. For the price, I definitely got the feel of a more upscale setting and the food quality matched it well. I have been to several steakhouses and I rank this one very highly. I would recommend this steakhouse for date nights, or anyone looking for an intimate dinner with great service.

I recently revisited Monday’s Nola, a restaurant located in Mid-City New Orleans at: 4327 Bienville St New Orleans, LA 70119 for brunch.
Overall, I would rate my experience very highly, I was satisfied. We were seated fairly quickly, however in terms of the seating arrangements, I wasn't a huge fan of how limited the inside seating was simply because it was extremely hot. I was told that the inside seating was reservation only which is something that was new to me. We were sat outside relatively in the shade so it made up for it. Our waitress and host were extremely hospitable and kind, making the environment very relaxed. The scenery was nice, the restaurant itself was very aesthetically pleasing, making for great photo opportunities. I ordered a mimosa flight which came with 4 different flavored mimosas with really vibrant colors. For my entree I ordered the lamb chops with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. The presentation was definitely a 10/10. The food itself I would say was an 8.5/10. It was really good but did not come out quickly which I suppose is expected on a busy Sunday. I would recommend Monday’s to anyone looking for nice food and drinks and great service.

I visited Gyu-Kaku in New Orleans, Louisiana, located at: 400 LAFAYETTE ST., SUITE 101 NEW ORLEANS, LA 70130 for dinner.
It is a Japanese BBQ restaurant where you have the opportunity to prepare your own food over an open flame. I would rate the service as a 10/10. My host/server was very hospitable and had an extensive knowledge on the entire menu and even gave recommendations on other restaurants that offer similar experiences.
We ordered the “Meat Lover” course, which came with an array of different appetizers such as edamame, fried rice, fried chicken etc; For the entree, we were provided 6 different kinds of beef to prepare to our satisfaction. There are several different unique courses to choose from for everyone’s taste. Something I really enjoyed was that the course included s’mores at the end, which I thought was a really cute way to end the meal. I rate the food, and the experience as an overall 9/10. I generally have no complaints!

I visited the Ruby Slipper located in Metairie, Louisiana at : 4236 Veterans Memorial Blvd Metairie, LA 70006 for a casual brunch.
The service was good, I was seated fairly quickly despite there being a decent amount of people at the restaurant.
I ordered the Mike’s hot honey chicken and French toast bites with a side of bacon and breakfast potatoes and a Peach Bellini. I asked for the hot honey glaze on the side and I’m glad that I did because I didn’t like it and don’t think it was a good pairing, it went better with plain syrup. No complaints otherwise. Overall taste 8/10.
