tip for adhd writers:
everyone will tell you to outline, to anaylze every personality trait of your characters and plan every plot point, but the truth? don’t. not only does it waste precious spurts of motivation, but it makes it less enjoyable. and what happens when adhders don’t enjoy something? we lack the motivation and focus needed for it.
i used to write, 24/7, and i developed my characters with vague ideas until they became fleshed out in the story without any extra manipulation and extensive notes. looking back on my old writing, these were the best characters I have ever written.
and then i stopped, and i spent months mapping out my characters to an exact t because I thought it would be better, but when i went to write, it was really hard. it seemed more like a chore. and because i had already planned their attitudes and perceptions, it was almost impossible for me to change anything without worrying about my endless sheets of character analysis.
just write. seriously. you can learn about your characters as the story goes. and then you can edit after. then you can add details and take things out while still having the fun story you enjoyed from the start.

Dyscalculia is a learning disability, a lot like dyslexia, but with math and numbers. Everyone knows what dyslexia is, but for some reason, dyscalculia isn’t as well known. I want people to know about this so no more kids are gonna believe uneducated adults who tells them that they’re just lazy and no more kids are going to think they’re just hopeless idiots when they try and try but just can’t understand. It happened to me, and I won’t let it happen to anyone else.

To be meek, patient, tactful, modest, honorable, brave, is not to be either manly or womanly; it is to be humane.

Not to sound like a 90s shallow prep, but how you dress can affect your self esteem, and putting energy into wearing things you actively like and projecting an ideal of yourself through fashion instead of seeing clothes as things you have to put on out of obligation helps.
It also can give you a sense of control over your appearance that you otherwise wouldn’t have lmao

broke: dadko and momtara
woke: every member of the gaang contributes something unique to ensure work is distributed as fairly as possible, hence the point of “the chase” where toph learns that she doesn’t have to function independently and it’s okay for everyone to rely on each other
bespoke: if anyone was gonna struggle contributing to the gaang, it’s prince™ zuko who was ordering servants around mere hours before he left the fire nation and barely survived on his own in “zuko alone”

"Due to the remote location of these communities, it becomes very difficult for Indigenous communities to access resources and the basic necessities like food. Buying grapes for $28 and cauliflower for $13 has become an unfortunate norm."

This fund is working on providing food to remote Northern indigenous communities in Canada, where food prices tend to be ridiculously inflated.
They’re currently at $470 out of $8000 as of October 22nd!

Hey, to you sci-fi/fantasy writers out there (and maybe some others, but this is mainly for things that can’t really be researched irl), if you want to write a character who is a driven, passionate expert on something, don’t write about them rambling indifferently about some boring, mundane part of it. Give them a deep, intense hatred of some oddly specific wow-I-did-not-even-know-that-was-a-thing-and-it-would-have-never-occurred-to-me-that-it’s-a-bad-thing thing they’ll gladly rant about.
Write a dragon rider who really fucking hates it when a dragon is trained to bow while being reined. A space ship engineer who is pissed off when perfectly good antimatter ship has been adapted to run on neutral matter. A historian who is still not over the massive failures of a general who lost a specific battle 300 years before she was born.
The guy currently giving us a series of lectures on the restoration of historical buildings really, really hates polymer paint. At the artisan school our stained glass teacher really hated this one specific Belgian artist - we never really figured out what did that guy even do, but he’s been dead for over 200 years and our teacher was glad that at least he’s dead.
Experts don’t just know things you’ve never thought about. They’ve got strong opinions about it.

uH Oh I fell into the Among Us hype. I started playing this game a few weeks ago and now I’m HOOKED. These are the types of Imposters I’ve noticed while playing with friends or watching gameplays so if I’m “missing” any it’s just because I have yet to encounter them 💩 Among Us wallpapers will be available on my Patreon for the Mmmm Yessss tier!
