Running Doom in ChatGPT

Can ChatGPT run Doom? Well.....kinda?

Use what you know about the game Doom to play a version of Doom you can play with the abilities you have, so for example describe where I (the player) am then let me make a move then describe the scene again

You are in a dark, dimly lit room. The walls are made of rough, grey stone, and there is a faint smell of sulfur in the air. You can hear the sound of distant gunfire and screams coming from the other side of the door in front of you.

You move forward, opening the door and stepping through. You find yourself in a long corridor, lined with metal pipes and wires. The floor is slick with blood and debris. You can see the outlines of demons in the distance, their glowing red eyes staring back at you.

You quickly pull out your trusty shotgun, taking aim and firing at the nearest demon. It lets out a deafening roar as it falls to the ground, its body dissolving into a puddle of green goo.

You continue forward, moving quickly and cautiously as you make your way deeper into the demon-infested facility. You can hear the sounds of gunfire and explosions getting louder, and you know that you are getting closer to the source of the invasion.

As you turn a corner, you come face to face with a massive demon, its horned head towering above you. You raise your shotgun and fire, the bullets slamming into its flesh as it charges towards you.

With a final roar, the demon falls to the ground, its body disintegrating into dust. You take a deep breath, knowing that the fight is not over yet. You have to keep moving, keep fighting, until the demons are defeated and the facility is safe once again.

You continue your search for more health packs and armor shards, but you don't find any, the demons must have taken them all. You're still a little low on health but you're ready to face whatever comes next, with your trusty shotgun in hand.

Crouch and crawl into next room

You crouch down and move forward, crawling on your hands and knees towards the next room. The room is filled with smoke and debris, and you can hear the sounds of gunfire and screams coming from the other side.

As you crawl through the smoke, you can see the outlines of demons moving around in the distance. You keep low, trying to stay hidden as you move closer.

You reach the edge of the room and peek out, looking for an opening to attack. You see a demon with its back turned, and you quickly take aim with your shotgun. You fire, and the demon falls to the ground, its body dissolving into a puddle of green goo.

You move forward, taking out any demons that get in your way. You can see that the room is filled with survivors, and you can hear them cheering as you take out the demons.

You're ready to move on, with all the necessary information, weapons, and resources you need to complete the mission. You take a deep breath and move forward, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.

Head to Control Room

You check your map again and confirm the location of the control room. You move forward, keeping your shotgun at the ready as you make your way deeper into the facility.

As you move through the corridors, you can hear the sounds of gunfire and screams getting louder, and you know that you are getting closer to the source of the invasion. You come across a few demons along the way, but you take them out quickly with your shotgun.

You Must Not Trust ChatGPT

In this conversation with ChatGPT I mostly discuss the reasons why the answers it gives should not be trusted. Sure, I like using it, but it must be understood: ChatGPT is not there to give accurate, factual answers, it is there to imitate human conversation, even if that leads it to produce replies that are not factually correct. Of course, by having this conversion in ChatGPT, it creates a problem about whether you should believe it or not, but I'll leave that for you to decide.

Pie Chart Questions with ChatGPT

An article about using ChatGPT to ask questions got me thinking about visual ways ChatGPT could ask questions. I documented a few in the comments to that post:

I then got thinking about additional ways you could make visual questions with ChatGPT, and came up with this (skip to the bottom to see the final result):
