A short rant:

I realize that everyone has different struggles in college etc, and I know that I'm lucky I don't have to miss class for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippor, BUT why is it okay for me to have to do everything I can for October in September so that I have even a semblance of a chance at getting my work done? Why is it okay to tell me I might have to talk to my Rabbi about my not being able to use electronics or to write on holidays and the Sabbath because our paper is due on a day of class that I'm missing for a holiday? I was once interviewed for a school newspaper article about how the last finals were on December 23rd, and how students felt about finals being so close to Christmas, especially when we had "so many" days off in September and October; I understand that the possibility of having a final the day before the evening of a holiday might be frustrating, but missing 4 days of school (2 days 2 weeks in a row) for holidays (and having that be the LUCKY situation), in addition to being assigned plenty of work to do over the "breaks" that we get (when I actually have holidays) hinders my ability to reasonably succeed in college. I work my butt off for these, stress like hell, have freaking panic attacks, and get triggered like hell because I physically can't pull another all-nighter in a row, so just freaking DEAL with your possibility of a final on December 23rd, because I would pay for that level of convenience.
