JEE Advanced 2025 Result & Expected Cut-Off: Trends from Previous Years and Predictions
JEE Advanced 2025 Result and Expected Cut-Off: The result for JEE Advanced 2025 is expected to be announced on June 2. Along with the results, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, the organizing institute for this yearâs exam, will also release the JEE Advanced 2025 cut-off marks for admission to the IITs.
The JEE Advanced cut-off marks are crucial for candidates hoping to secure a spot in one of the prestigious IITs. These marks will be determined based on various factors, including the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates, and overall performance.
Previous Year's Trends: In 2024, there was a significant increase in the cut-off marks across all categories compared to the previous year. For General and EWS candidates, the cut-off surged to 378 marks, up from 348 in 2023. Similarly, for OBC-NCL candidates, the cut-off increased to 383, compared to 352 in 2023. For SC and ST candidates, the cut-offs rose to 364 and 366, respectively, from 331 and 323 the previous year. This increase indicates heightened competition and a higher number of top-performing candidates.
JEE Advanced 2025: A total of 1,87,223 candidates appeared for JEE Advanced 2025, including 1,43,810 boys and 43,413 girls. Based on feedback from experts and candidates, the mathematics section of the exam was deemed to be the most challenging this year, while chemistry and physics followed a relatively similar difficulty pattern as in previous years.
JEE Advanced 2025 Cut-off Predictions: Considering the trends from 2024 and the level of competition, it is anticipated that the JEE Advanced 2025 cut-offs will likely be higher than the previous years. However, the final cut-off will depend on various factors, including the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates qualifying, and the overall performance in the exam.
JoSAA Counselling: Once the JEE Advanced results are declared, candidates who meet the cut-off will be eligible to participate in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling process for admission into IITs and other participating institutions.
For more detailed updates, students can visit the official JEE Advanced website and keep an eye on the announcement regarding counselling schedules and seat allocation. JEE Advanced Official Website

BJP's OBC Strategy in Haryana: Enhancing Welfare Ahead of Assembly Elections
The BJP in Haryana is gearing up for a potential hat-trick in the upcoming Assembly elections by focusing on consolidating support among the Other Backward Classes (OBCs). With an eye on securing a third consecutive term, the party has announced significant measures aimed at the OBC community, including raising the creamy layer income cap from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh and increasing reservations in local bodies such as panchayats, municipal corporations, and municipalities.
OBCs constitute approximately 30% of Haryana's voter base, making them a crucial demographic alongside Jats and Scheduled Castes. Following a setback in the recent Lok Sabha elections, where the BJP lost ground to the Congress in key constituencies, the party has intensified its welfare initiatives and is rolling out additional benefits to garner support.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been pivotal in these efforts, making recent visits to the state to announce these welfare measures. Emphasizing continuity, Shah affirmed Chief Minister Nayab Singh Sainiâs leadership role and unveiled policies during events focused on backward classes in Panchkula and Mahendragarh.
Reflecting on the BJP's longstanding commitment to OBC welfare, Union Cabinet Minister Krishan Pal Gujjar highlighted ongoing initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana and constitutional empowerment of the OBC Commission under Prime Minister Narendra Modiâs administration.
The BJPâs strategy also includes strategic appointments within the stateâs leadership, ensuring representation from diverse communities. This approach aims to consolidate support across different voter segments amidst a shifting political landscape with the dissolution of alliances and realignment of electoral dynamics.
Looking ahead, the BJP plans extensive outreach across Haryanaâs rural and urban areas, showcasing developmental projects and engaging with local communities to bolster their electoral prospects. With ongoing efforts to deliver tangible benefits to OBCs and other marginalized groups, the party is poised to intensify its campaign with further announcements expected in the run-up to the elections.

PCB Hires Australian Curator for Improved WTC Pitches
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has brought in Tony Hemming, an experienced Australian curator, to revamp pitches ahead of Pakistan's crucial home series in the World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. Hemming, known for his work at iconic venues like Melbourne and Dubai International Cricket Stadium, replaces Zahid as head curator.
Hemming's mandate includes preparing pitches for upcoming series against Bangladesh and England, as well as for the Champions Trophy 2025. His appointment aims to address criticisms that Pakistani pitches have been too favorable to batsmen, resulting in numerous drawn matches at home.
Former cricketer Scott Styris highlighted the importance of winning home games in the WTC, emphasizing Pakistan's potential with its strong tradition of stylish batsmen and fast bowlers. However, he cautioned that balanced pitches are crucial for Pakistan to develop into a well-rounded team.
Former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja had previously criticized the quality of pitches in Pakistan, advocating for modern drop-in pitches to enhance playing conditions. With Hemming's expertise, PCB aims to create pitches that challenge both batsmen and bowlers, fostering competitive Test cricket in Pakistan.
