#i will forever be a hp hater and a hp lover#like yeah the book series is dogshit#but the movies helped me through dark times as a kid#it will always have a special place in my heart#i think we can acknowledge how despicable the writer is and how her creation reflects that#but at the same time we shouldn't willify people who can look back on the series with nostalgia and fond memories#as long as they acknowledge the series' faults#as for pjo i sadly missed it in my childhood#it must've been a banger to read#every time people bring it up i experience extreme fomo#i tried to get into it for years but sadly i don't have the nostalgia for it and doesn't really appeal to me#but one day i'll read it

i usually don't care about what people ship. i wouldn't call myself an anti or whatever the fuck the groups in shipping wars are. but c'mon man.
how is a ship in this specific gane with that specific guy appealing to anyone?
shippers sometimes piss me off. why do some people feel the urge to ship people in a game about rape?? not every guy who has one mildly emotional scene with another guy has to be shipped.
i know shipping characters and liking them isn't the same thing but how is this a fun time?
if there was subtext maybe i'd understand it. it's fun to explore characters and their motivations.
but everything that could be construed as romantic subtext takes away from the whole characterization of jimmy, and misinterprets his selfish nature and decisions as something else. which in turn takes away from the story and what makes it brilliant, what makes it meaningful.
all for the sake of shipping a horrible person with a doormat.
why is it enjoyable? i just don't get it.
