Writing two shows (a musical and a one person play)

Hi, first post on Tumblr. I want to post stuff to encourage myself to keep writing especially after graduating undergrad. I am hoping to apply to grad schools for either playwriting, musical theater writing, or dramaturgy next year. I majored in dramatic writing with a focus on playwriting. I don't have much musical skills but I dream to write musicals.

First show:

Basic premise: A musical based off of the Tik Tok ban of early 2025. With an American girl finally joining a popular social media, which has secret Chinese spies watching and creating each personal fyp. After being on the app for a while, the American and Chinese spy fall in love through the app. This is where the American gov comes in and tries to get the app banned. The Spy and the girl try in their own way to save the app while also promising their love.

Comps: Romeo and Juliet + Maybe Happy Endings.

Second show:

Basic Premise: A one person play about a person who maladapt daydreams a crazy adventure. This person plays all the roles. This one isn't as fleshed out as the other. I got the idea from watching Vanya in NYC and realized that my own experience daydreaming would work great with the many characters played by one person show. I also want some real life things to "stop" the show, like if it is a college student then they can be responding to a discussion post or doing homework.
