Nathrheim Publishing Update (1/9/2023)
Okay, so it's been a while - the holidays hit us like a truck, and also things are going slower than planned. In the ongoing interest of transparency, don't worry - we haven't fucked up, but the government and UPS predictably have, so @elijahrichardwrites is currently practically engaging in a guerilla war with half of this country's institutions to get our damn filing in so we can actually get things going.
In the meantime, we've finished a snazzy logo and banner to distract you with. Ooh, shiny!
Hang in there with us, we're working on it, and pray to whatever deities you may believe in that the government/UPS miraculously has a day where it just works as intended, bc I think that qualifies as miraculous territory :P
#reblog#i do enjoy fighting the government#but not like this#haha#but yeah!#we're working on it and slowly getting there#so hang on folks!#nathrheim publishing

In wanting to talk about my WIPs more, here's this bit for all of you:
A lot of my OCs have accents since, y'know, most people have some sort of accent. And I often think about the type of accents they would have. So for a specific example with Nite & Daye, with the City of the End being home to many different types of people/cultures, there's quite the amalgamation of accents. Like Aleah comes from her world's version of France, so she has somewhat of a french accent. Daye doesn't really have a french accent but it occasionally comes out with certain words. Nite's, however, is slightly more prominent but isn't anything intense.
Anyways, what I wanted to get to was the fact that Silver has a bit of a country/southern twang and I absolutely love it. And mind you, the City of the End is located mainly in what would be Europe so there are not a lot of Americans (Meries as they're called) in the City so everyone is running around with mainly European/Asian (referring to continents in this context) influences in their accents and then there's just Silver being like "howdy y'all" 🧍♂️
#so he speaks#nite & daye#by the time we get to nite & daye's story she doesn't really use southern/country speech/slang#but it does come out on occasion and i love it#maybe it's just the midwestern in me#honestly it just makes me laugh ngl#because really the only other character with an “american” accent#would be rachel#and she has more of a “blank” accent than anything

Okay I'm going a little ramble/vent below the cut so here's your fore-warning haha. Just want to get some thoughts and such out there
So I've been thinking lately about how I feel like I don't talk about my writing a lot and I often feel bad about it because this writeblr is meant for me to just go on about my WIPs. I just,, I get Weird(TM) feelings about it and I think it in part has to do with past events I've unfortunately had to deal with.
I used to be super confident in my writing (derived mainly from naivety and arrogance that comes with being a beginner writer) and I enjoy writing/talking about my writing. However I eventually gained "friends" who either disregarded my writing, put me down to make them feel about their projects, would constantly try to "fix" my writing, steal/copy from me, etc etc. Y'know, the works.
So unfortunately due to all this, I lost confidence in my ability to write and produce good content and I began to hate my writing. Often to points have wanting to trash anything/everything I ever wrote and giving it up as a whole. Luckily, I was able to get help (and deal with mental health struggles I was dealing with in general) and thanks to that, I was able to return to writing.
I also eventually joined writeblr and I've been able to feel better about my writing and finally have passion back into sharing my stuff because while I had gotten back into writing, I was still terrified of sharing my works.
So while I'm getting there, I just have a hard time just randomly (and maybe not so randomly, idk) talking about my stuff without being promoted first. I think my goal moving forward is to try and share whatever comes to mind (or what have you) in regards to my WIPs, regardless of if I think people are going to think I'm annoying or something along those lines.
I don't know, I just felt like it was something I need to get off my chest haha. I see so many wonderful people on here who will jump on any chance they can talk about their stories and I both love and greatly admire them for doing so. I just wish I could gather up the gumption to do the same haha
#so he speaks#vent#?#idk if it necessarily counts but i'm counting it in case#i know i don't usually do this sort of thing but i thought would be good to do so#thanks to anyone to decides to listen to me jdjsjjjd

just a general question for blorbo blursday— who would you consider your main blorbos from your wips & who do you think future fans/audiences would claim as their blorbos? are they the same?
Love me some good general questions >:) but how are you doing, Ren? Writing/art going well?
Also thank you for the ask <3
who would you consider your main blorbos from your wips & who do you think future fans/audiences would claim as their blorbos? are they the same?
For the sake of not having this be too long, I'm just sticking with my main 2 WIPs, Nite & Daye and Unveiled Dissolution (:
My main blorbos from N&D are Nite, Soz, & Vell and my main blorbos from UD are Ayre, Silence, & Vex.
Based on what I've seen so far, I would absolutely not be surprised if a lot of people chose Nite as their blorbo! I think Aleah and Silver might be big ones too but I could absolutely see Nite and/or taking home the trophy as like #1 blorbo or something haha.
For UD, I can see a lot of people claiming Silence but with the massive cast of characters (yes, technically even bigger than N&D), it's kind of hard to tell? I think each character are very relatable in lots of different ways that I can for see the blorbo crown being split several different ways (':
As for the last question, I can see a lot of them being the same but with my obsession of creating a slightly large cast with plenty of diversity, I think it'll be an interesting outcome if that makes any sense haha

Introducing Nathrheim Publishing, and a sneak peek at our first project!
Happy Halloween! @elijahrichardwrites, @fearofahumanplanet, @bpdgotmelike, and @thenightmarewrites are eager to announce our latest project - Nathrheim Publishing House, an independent punk publishing house with the goal of uplifting marginalized voices, radical leftist perspectives, and other works that find themselves struggling to gain representation in an otherwise insular and restrictive market.
Our goals?
To seek out and publish marginalized & othered voices of any sort - are you a POC? LGBT? Disabled, visible or not? Suffering a stigmatized disorder (Cluster B folks, line right up)? Lower-class? Any sort of outcast? You're the exact sort of people we're looking to represent. We feel there aren't enough perspectives on the market, and we want to change that.
An approachable, transparent business style. All too often, publishing houses are downright opaque about their intent and their work process, and it's hard to really get your foot in the door when no one will even inform you why you're being rejected. We aim to defy that norm.
We aim to particularly represent daring, provocative, rebellious, offbeat and all-around "weird" voices. Have you been told your work wouldn't sell? We think it will, and we're willing to put money on the line to prove it. We do not require an agent - if you have a story you want published and no one else wants it, send it right to us, we'll take a look.
Please reblog for visibility!!!
We are not open for submissions yet - for now, we plan on publishing our first book and fundraising the money required to take on other authors and publish them too. When we do take submissions, we are especially interested in works from the writeblr community as well as all categories listed above! As for our first book...
Jane Doe's Karma Killer, more info to come :)
Cover art credit to sewercryptid, https://www.artstation.com/sewercryptid
#reblog#since i was having a convo with some amazing people about the publishing industry 👀#and reminding people this is still happening#and there should hopefully be more from us soon 👀#nathrheim publishing

I absolutely love your writing 🥺
And can we talk about the description of the dunes??
Find the Word Tag
Thank you @late-to-the-fandom for tagging me!
Words: final, relief, temper, wine, guest
Tagging: @elijahrichardwrites @i-dont-write-as-often-as-id-like @writingpotato07
Your words are: flower, chaos, storm, blush, and smoke
I will of course be finding these words in Hera: To Catch a Star, so let's get to it!
Final:
" They reached the sunbeam-tipped crowns of a few more dunes when finally the ship came into view amongst a ring of hills. Yojackson turned almost completely around in his seat to be certain their pursuers had given up and the speeder collided with a decently sized dune. They were all thrown from the vehicle and Rynn, [Priestess], and Kilderan cried out. "
Relief:
" The woman began to choke and after the fit ceased, she responded, “She…she…” She cast her eyes toward the blue sky, so oblivious to the tragedy unfolding beneath its cheerful wings. “She escaped.”
[Priestess] sighed in relief. "
Temper:
You're telling me no one loses their temper in this book? Really? I couldn't find the word, so...
Wine:
In a story where alcohol and taverns are basically a second home to Rynn and his companions, it's odd that this word never showed up once! Perhaps later in the trilogy they'll be drinking something higher-class than cheap beer...
Guest:
....And guest was not found either! Oh well.
Ok so there were really only two sneak peeks, but that's ok! I hope you enjoyed this little blip!
Thanks again for the tag, and be sure to stay tuned for Hera: To Catch a Star coming this February!
