Is Anya holding a baby basket?

tysm for the ask!! honestly i mostly just drew it bc it was in the reference LOL

BUT i started thinking about it while i was drawing, i did kind of think about it that way, yes

if she had lived, i dont think she should have raised the baby, or she should have at least gotten a choice to decide whether she did want to keep it or not somehow.

but i imagined my drawing as a sort of afterlife - both of them were dead, and maybe the baby wouldve been there with her, maybe not. i think if it was with her, she wouldve at least cared for it, both of them in that eternal state. neither of them chose to be involved with jimmy, and i dont think she'd blame the baby for jimmys actions.

basically i saw it as them magically appearing in the afterlife together, it's peaceful, and anya just makes the baby smile because she doesnt have a need or responsibility to do anything else when they're dead. shes not really its mother? if that makes sense??? they're just chillin together like homies lol

or maybe its empty, because the baby never really got to see life, and anya is fine with that. maybe she can use it to pick some flowers

tldr: i imagined it that way, but i didn't think too hard about it - it can be up to your interpretation :)

wait a moment im thinking about how he says 'this rock,' calling back to him naming the ship wake rock - he wanted to give him a chance off the *ship*

gimme a second im thinking about how he said 'one thing right,' implying he was *actively trying* to give him a chance

insert other synonym here im thinking about how swansea knows its only a small chance, but goddamn he knew the kid deserved it more than anyone, that he had potential, which daisuke himself didn't even believe he had. and he died not realizing Just How Much swansea cared

this is a lot of good points !! i honestly agree with a lot of them. obviously swansea wasn't in the best position at all, and i understand its very very likely he had good intentions, which is more that can be said of curly - my point isnt to criticize swansea at all!! its moreso a criticism of those who try to say that he would've taken action when he didn't, and untimately, made the same mistake as curly in the end.

i think i was definitely speaking a bit harshly in the end when i said he wasn't better than curly, because we don't know exactly what he was thinking. but i still believe that in the end, he still valued daisuke more than anya, as he's the only one he alluded to actively Having and Acting on a plan for.

i feel like my point is getting away from me LOL... basically, i agree 😭

ive seen SOOO many people saying "if swansea knew, he wouldn't have ignored it like curly did!"

but thats the thing. HE. DID.

Two months after the crash, jimmy walks in on anya and swansea having a private convo - this is later revealed by swansea to be "her telling me really interesting things about you [jimmy]." anya told him TWO MONTHS IN.

and when does swansea try to kill jimmy? Five months in. and ONLY AFTER JIMMY LEADS TO DAISUKE'S DEATH.

It took DAISUKE being harmed for Swansea to take action! He knew for three months!

Mouthwashing is about how inaction only causes further harm and this is present in SEVERAL characters! Both Curly and Swansea failed to take action immediately, and this failure only ended up hurting THEM.

its unknown how long curly knew - he was only told about the pregnancy a day before the crash, but anya explicitly says 'i told you.' when asked who the father was, implying curly knew beforehand, which couldve been days or years - so for all we know, curly couldve known about it for less time than swansea had, and any opportunity he had to act was taken from him.

swansea is not better. curly is not better. there is only the fact that they both failed anya and the consequences that had

tldr, i love swansea but pleasseee stop saying he'd be better than curly because he wasnt and thats the whole point

ok i see a few people talking about the fact that you start in the left seat (the same seat jimmy sat in during the psych eval) when crashing the ship but did anyone else notice that when you interact with the rope it says 'a length of nylon rope'

when you interact w the rope every single time after that as jimmy it says the same thing

but when you interact w it as curly he says 'jimmy bet me 50 credits that this would never leave this closet'

Even the way they THINK about ROPE is a clue ??!!!
