Almost a year, 14 breakdowns, 48 redesigns, 8 times when I’ve felt like quitting, 5 meltdowns and too much feeling terrible later and it’s FINALLY DONE

I don’t know whether to cry, scream, laugh, celebrate or do all four. 

The Smiler. Sumiko. Hey. Long time no see. 

Gosh that took WAY too long. 

Anyway, a bit of thanks now to various people:

Biggest thanks to @phalanx-zombie who told me on multiple occasions that the oc should be something that I like and that I should make art that I like looking at and enjoy doing. This oc IS something that I really like and I just wanted to say thank you for telling me not to get worked up over it (admittedly I did a little but mentally I haven’t been great throughout July and August and the redesign just added to that) also thank you for the nice Tox drawing— I realise i didn’t say much about it, I’d kinda just woken up and it was a shock to the system (in a good way) but again thank you so much for that. 

And thank you to @altonkacey who’s Smiler oc Hypno is just straight up beautiful—and even if I didn’t take any inspiration from her, reading that ask about how you came to design Hypno was really useful and insightful. I really like hearing other people describe their oc design process and the fact the ask was about Hypno really had me interested. She’s a beautiful oc and I hope you keep her around! And I don’t  normally pick favourites, but Hypno has to be my one of my favourite smiler beside my own. 

And basically thank you to everyone else who gave pieces of advice—I appreciate all of it :)
