Happy little Kitty Zim. Tired of chasing brain flies and sleeping all day. He cuddled up to me and let me tuck him in. He fell asleep like this purring up a storm.

I had an assignment from my occupational therapist. I had to write a letter to myself/ paint my journey/ make something so I can look back on what I did and what I learned during my medical rehabilitation. I chose to paint it. 

I hate writing letters to myself. They freak me out... I don’t like looking back and putting what I saw in words. It’s to depressing. So this is what I did... No letter just a reminder to keep the rhythm in my life. 

Saying NO is perfectly healthy. Choosing me is recommended. Clearing my calendar is perfectly fine. Life will have it’s ups and downs. I will keep falling back but the trick is standing up. Dusting myself off and just keep going forward on my own path. My “yellow brick road” to recovery

I was reading a book (about interjections, oddly enough) yesterday which included the phrase “In these days of political correctness…” talking about no longer making jokes that denigrated people for their culture or for the colour of their skin. And I thought, “That’s not actually anything to do with ‘political correctness’. That’s just treating other people with respect.”

Which made me oddly happy. I started imagining a world in which we replaced the phrase “politically correct” wherever we could with “treating other people with respect”, and it made me smile. 

You should try it. It’s peculiarly enlightening.

I know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking “Oh my god, that’s treating other people with respect gone mad!”
