My fiancé and I are both so burnt out from wedding planning and I mean. BURNT OUT lol. Our wedding date is approaching incredibly fast and I mean FAST and it still feels like there is so much to do.
We’re also doing a wedding on the beach, call-back to when we first got together it’s a WHOLE thing and very important to us, but it’s got me watching the weather forecast like every hour.
Between wedding planning and now gearing up to wedding and also being a lead in a show which takes up a LOT of my time, I have been immensely busy, but, I’m excited for all the opportunities that I have and I’m grateful to be booked and busy and I am especially excited to be getting married!!
I’m hoping to be more active here and I have so many ideas for posts and stage management material and even some acting things I’ve learned! So much that I want to share but, gotta get through this hump of craziness first!

My fiancé absolutely knows nothing about theatre, but knows a LOT about history because they are a teacher. So, it’s really fun doing a slightly historical show right now, because I found out they’ve been doing research on the historical context of the show so that we can converse about the show over dinner when we’re both home.
I do love getting to show my fiancé like. Pictures of all my props and costumes and be like “okay I use this during…and we chose this specific one because of…” and then they’ll randomly know or recognize a detail and we then detour into history.
When I’m stage managing, I love getting to show my Stage Manager Bible and slam down my copy in front of them like. Look how big it’s getting!! And once I made them try to call a show by playing the track to a number and teaching them how to do it. And slowly I’ve been teaching them to read music as well at the same time.
I really love our special relationship and the way that we are both able to work and make our interests come together. And we’re both excited to be taking the next step in our relationship VERY soon 😉

I graduated from college two weeks ago now with my degree in Theatre, with a concentration in Tech and Musical Theatre.
And one thing about my degree journey, is that my parents have never been really all that supportive of my theatre career and pursuit. They saw no money in it, and as long as I was studying theatre. I was on my own. Getting to come to anything that I was doing was a challenge. Family gatherings or events, we didn’t talk about what I was studying or about my career at all.
But, my parents came to my final theatre performance at my university. A show I was stage managing, not even on stage. And, after my graduation, my parents sat me down and said “We don’t really know what it was, but something after the show made us start thinking. So, talk to us about theatre. Why do you want to do it, what’s your plan, etc”
They also said “there’s a light that we saw in you at the theater, that we haven’t seen in a long time.” And they recognized that theatre is an industry that they know absolutely nothing about. And so, they’ve decided to be fully supportive of my career going forward. I don’t know what that’s going to look like necessarily? But, it felt really good to hear them say that and to hear them say that they’re proud.
So, that’s something that I have to celebrate right now ✨🥺

It’s the final night of my final college tour 😭
I’ve officially concluded my theatre days as a college student, I’ve graduated, and now I’m coming to the end of my music journey as a student. There is so much sadness and joy right now in life as an era comes to an end
I know that I keep saying that I’m at the end, but this will officially be the end as tour was 7 days on the road after graduation ceremony and all. Tour is part of my fulfillment as a choir/orchestra group member
Tomorrow, I do our final concert and then I go home. And then? Take on the real world!
I don’t think I’ve fully processed yet that it’s the end, truly. Tour really helped because even though I walked the stage it was like. Nah I still got 7 more days with everyone that I know and love and I already had a lot of time to say goodbye to theatre. But now, it’s definitely starting to feel real and all the emotions are beginning to return as I reach the FINAL goodbyes

When I say that I’ve been here since DAY ONE. DAY ONE. I have been here since the beginning of Phil and Phyllis and I have been longing for the day that this song would be released in full
The very first appearance of this song had me HOOKED and I would constantly pull the video back up to listen again. I was invested. Y’all have no idea how happy this makes me lol

My friend and roommate knows me extremely well because every time that I leave for my college tour with my choir and orchestra group, he’s gifted me a new book to bring on tour with me.
I usually bring a bag of about 5-7 books with me as my comfort book bag lol. Books to read on the bus, during free time, and evenings, etc. But, he always picks a specific book that he finds that he thinks I will enjoy 🥹
I do TRY to socialize on tour, especially since this is my last one and I’ve graduated now so this is the last time I’ll see many of these people. But sometimes, people can be a LOT. And 9 days on the road, is a LONG time. So, having a small book collection is comforting. Even if I don’t get around to all of them, the physical presence of books and stories is something that brings me joy ♥️

That’s a wrap on senior year, my final time performing as a student and my final bow as a student ✨ College graduation tomorrow 🥺✨
Last night was a beautiful night surrounded by my friends and peers to celebrate all the work we’ve done over our time as students. So many tears and laughter and memories made. As my mentor said, it’s “years of love, work, discovery, loss and adventure.”
Til’ next time Class of 25’

Why do I keep my Technical Theatre Experience on my acting resume?
Tumblr media
On my acting resume, I still keep record of my work on production and behind the scenes.
Those behind-the-scenes roles helped shape me as a performer. They taught me how a production truly runs. I’ve seen firsthand the pressure the crew is under, the timing required to make magic happen, and the communication it takes to hold everything together.
Being on the other side of the table has made me a more respectful and collaborative actor. It showed I’m someone who understands the full picture, not just my role in it. And directors notice that.
It’s not just about versatility; it’s about work ethic, teamwork, and trust. And in this industry, that matters just as much as talent. So if you’ve worked backstage? Own it. Those credits tell a story, too.
The first thing that I was told by a director from a professional theater was “I don’t care what you’ve done, I care about that you can DO”
So on my resume, the biggest highlights are my special skills, abilities, and my experiences. Not the shows I’ve done necessarily. Or what roles I’ve played. I want them to know that I’m well-rounded and have a lot to bring to the table. My acting and performance will show up in my audition.

My theatre mentors and professors through college are some of the best people that I’ve had a chance to work with. This message after tonight was a beautifully written message.
Senior Circle was such a perfect send off and it reminded me that I am loved by many and that all the many hours I placed into the department as the production stage manager and beyond. 🎓🎭 I remember watching my first senior circle years ago, when I was first getting involved in the department and I used to think that no one would ever have anything to say to me when it would my turn. I was so envious of the community and love that everyone had for each other. And now, I get to be someone who built that community up for the next generation coming in.
After senior circle when strike concluded, I was going around talking to my peers and told many of them the same thing.
“Me being your stage manager doesn’t stop just because the show is over or because I’m graduating. I may not be your stage manager in the sense that I remind you when to sign in or when you’re called to rehearsal. But, I’m always your stage manager in that I’m always there for you. I’m someone you can email, text, or call for whatever you need or whatever you need to talk about. If you need advice or support, I’m there. I will remain a safe place and a place of refuge and confidence for you because beyond your stage manager, I am also your friend.”

It’s been a WHILE since I’ve made any updates, but so many good things are happening, and some bad, but right now, I’m trying to allow the good to outweigh the bad.
Gearing up to graduate college and to be out there in the real world. Getting married soon! All sorts of life events happening.
I just closed my final college production as the Production Stage Manager before I graduate. I’ve done 6 shows with them as a stage manager and several others as a performer, but stage management has always been close to my heart. Today is a bittersweet day as we go into Strike and then Senior Circle to honor all those graduating.
My theatre professor told me though that graduation doesn’t mean goodbye, reminding me that I always have a home to come to whenever I find myself needing one. Or when I’m finding myself in a time of unknown. The future can be so uncertain, but it’s always nice knowing that I have a place to go. I hate goodbyes, but for now, it’s a see you later.
There’s something very intimidating about being in the real world fully, and even if I’ve had some real world work and experience, it’s definitely going to be different now. But, I’m excited to graduate and be free.
I still have many on-going and upcoming opportunities, so I’m not without work or support! So exciting things still, and I can’t wait to begin this next journey
