I Need A Band-aid For My Life
In the last year I've had some really tough situations I've had to deal with. Before all that happened I was the happiest ever! School was going great, my relationship with God was beautiful. I've learned that as a Christian we have to struggle, but I never imagined it would feel this bad. I've never in my life been so down out. There are people trying to give advice or encouraging words left and right but I've tried all those things multiple times. What bugs me the most is when they tell me I'm not doing the things they suggested, or I'm not trying, or to be grateful for what I do have. How dare anyone say I'm not trying or doing something?! Those people obviously don't know me. I can't stand asking for help, I'll try everything I know to do, look for more things to do and repeat before I ask for help. So for anyone to say I'm not trying is absurd! The ones who keep telling me to count my blessings, I honestly want to tell them to kick rocks. I've always counted my blessing and appreciated every last one of them. I don't need to look at what other people do or don't have to be grateful nor do I need to look at all that I have to be grateful. People telling me that implies that I'm not thankful for what I have because I want better or not to feel like I'm struggling. I'd like to point out that you are all idiots for assuming that I'm not grateful and for faulting me for not enjoying being depressed and feeling helpless. I don't like being in the position I'm in right now, especially since its making me get very frustrated and angry. Up until all this stuff happened I was not mean grouchy the way I am now. Its very hard not to be. I just really need a band-aid for my life right now. I guess I'll just keep praying things get better.

SEX
SEX: Just watched a nightline story about children as young as 8yrs being exposed to sex all around them and the understanding they walk way with because of it. They also talked about adolescent age children and their choice to view or engage in sex. People we can't just say "that's the way the things are" or "its all around them and we can't stop them from seeing it". It's up to parents and mentors to Be A Greater Influence than the world or their peers. You have to let them know there is more to sex than what's in music, and on tv, and in porn. What about the STD's or Marriage, or emotions, or children? How about telling them how expensive the consequences of sex can be? What aboutility soul-ties! We have to let them know there is more to life than sex. My parents didn't really talk to me about it but they did manage to Be A Greater Influence than the world.Talk to kids about sex! It's not a lost cause. This stuff is serious. 8 years old and already exposed to sex and pornography. Something has got to change folks.

That is not your call
If someone tells you their story asking for help or just looking for a friend, how are you going to respond? If their story sounds like a tall tale or the truth, who are you to make them struggle even more. A person who needs help, needs help. Sinners, liars, cheaters, confused, abused we all need help even if we are wrong. If you don't want to help them yourself the least you can do is point them in the direction of someone who is willing. That doesn't mean find them the help you think they need. That won't solve their problem. Get them the help that they are asking for. Even if you did try to get them the help you think they need, it won't help because its not the help they want.
