My final statement on the Kister vs Ven drama.

I have read all of the documents word by word, and initially, I had nothing to say about it, but re-reading all of them again, even Ven's new document before they deleted their Twitter/X account, I now finally got something to say about it.

Just to note, this statement is my full over opinion on the Kister vs Ven situation. I'd love to hear what you overall thing about this drama that had been all going around for nearly a month.

For those who don't know:

On March 12, Alex Kister, the creator of one of the most popular and well known analog horror series, the Mandela Catalogue, as well as his other series called Mystifying Oracle, was accused of predatory behavior by Twitter user STIRRINGJUICE (or Ven). I am not gonna go into too much detail, but the doc mainly states the accused problems Alex did while he had been with them and been friends with other fans.

A week or so later, Alex Kister has made a long response towards the accusations. In the doc, he provided plenty of evidence to justify his claim that overall that the doc Ven made is moreover wrong, but at the same time, he admitted that he had been friends and boyfriend with the fans and even trauma dumped to them. I will tell you, person reading this blog, about my personal opinion on this kind of action Kister has admitted too.

Later on, Ven made a pubic apology about them making the doc and their wording, saying that it is "transmisogynistic" and that what they did to him as an actual person was "excruciating". A day after they posted this apology, they have since deactivated their Twitter/X account, thus possibly putting an end to this drama.

Now that you all know about the history of the Kister vs Ven drama, lemme tell you my final opinion/statement.

When I first heard the allegations, I instantly felt devastated and upset over this and I had thought that Alex Kister was a good being. As a result, I felt some sort of heavy resentment towards the dude, but I never stopped loving his series, the Mandela Catalogue. I still do and I continue to write it (Wattpad is emmathemandelaresident; I digress).

Later, I began to move on and when I saw Alex's response, I was initially unsure of what to say or what to feel about it, but I will admit though, the way he has written the doc and provided much evidence to justify his claim is not really that bad at all.

But lemme tell you my overall opinion with his admitted actions. Being together romantically with a fan is not a great idea at all! These are your FANS that love your work and you should appreciate them, not go too far to be together with them, and ESPECIALLY not trauma dumping towards them! These are people that look up to you and your work, and venting towards them as well as dating them is fucked up in my personal opinion. These actions Alex had are inappropriate and I hope that Alex learned a very important lesson over that!

Overall, I will admit that he proved himself innocent, but I was still skeptical about this, so I continued to have some resentment towards him (though by a little bit).

Then when Ven's document came up, I legit had enough of this shitty drama. I kept asking to myself, when is this gonna end? Then I decided to read their doc. I honestly had no idea who I can trust anymore, cause at this rate, it looks like Alex Kister has won against the allegations in the most impressive way possible.

But I do believe that Ven's actions to get back on the dude and deplatform him was wrong and it should never be taken this kind of way to make an accusatory doc. Also the sentence "I did not expect crew members would leave because of how some of them responded initially" is kinda stupid. Like dude, your document had a WHOLE LOT OF SHIT AND "EVIDENCE" AGAINST KISTER. How could you possibly not expect crew members and actors to leave the Mandela Catalogue!?

I feel like this whole thing should have been kept in private and behind closed doors to avoid any kind of drama and other problems that escalated into something big! This would've been simple and easy, but Kister and Ven didn't do it.

Now just like Alex's response to the situation, I didn't have anything else to say or feel with Ven's new doc. But now I know that what they did was wrong as Alex's admitted actions to his fans.

So overall, I believe that both sides are mainly at fault. Alex's admitted actions are inappropriate and wrong and Ven's "goal" to deplatform the former is abhorrent. Now do I still love the Mandela Catalogue? Of course I do and like I said, I continue to write my crappy fanfic on the series. I believe Ven's decision to delete their Twitter account was good enough considering his actions, but I also think that Alex SHOULD learn something from his actions of dating people who looked up to and venting towards them.

I will continue to be active in the Mandela Catalogue fandom without traces of the drama barging into my brain and my Wattpad life.

But that's all for this giant statement! God, this was a lot to type on my laptop but that's my overall opinion on this Kister vs Ven situation.

The Illymation and Think Before You Sleep drama:

What exactly is criticism and what is the difference between criticism and bullying?

If you guys haven’t heard the latest internet drama, apparently Illymation decided to straight up false flag TBYS’s vid for “bullying” her…

AND SHE DIDN’T EVEN WATCH THE FUCKING VID.

Which is kinda stupid and pathetic all together.

So to answer the first question, according to Google’s dictionary of what Criticism is:

“The expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes.”

Essentially, it is the term used to describe the calling out of mistakes people make (saying people what NOT to do basically).

For example-Critcism towards a fanfiction:

“I like this chapter but it has a few problems you gotta work on. First, the way the paragraphs are layered is not perfect and it is hard to read. There are also some grammar issues and the way it goes from past tense to present tense.”

THAT is criticism.

Criticism is honestly pretty much scary and upsetting, but criticism is here JUST to improve you and your work, not to emotionally hurt you at ALL. It is here to remind you what NOT to do. It isn’t scary at all once you use it to help you out on yourself and your work.

Now to answer the second question…

What is the actual difference between criticism and bullying?

Criticism is ADVISE for you and your work to improve and change and NOT make the same mistakes in the future!!

Bullying on the other hand is verbal and physical abuse from another person that may be or may not be related to you.

Example of bullying:

“You’re worthless!”

“You’re very fat like a pig!”

“The way you just do those things are so stupid!”

These are INSULTS. Not criticism.

So now you all know what exactly criticism is and what is the difference between it and bullying. It may be hard to know it, but it ISN’T really hard!

People gotta understand about it. They gotta expect some opinions and judgements from others who are LIKELY gonna give criticism. And they should UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CRITICISM AND BULLYING!!!!!!

Especially Illymation!!

Just the audacity of saying that TBYS’s video is straight up hurting her mentally and thinking it is bullying is pathetic.

ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE IS A GROWN ASS WOMAN.

Criticism is an important thing to have. Don’t abandon it and don’t take advantage of it. Use it for your own benefit. Again, it may be scary, but it isn’t once you look into it and use it as it can improve you and change your work/content.

So…Let’s talk.

I am absolutely disgusted, appalled, disappointed, and overall devastated as a hardcore Mandela Catalogue fan. I cannot believe Alex Kister would be doing such horrific actions, especially to his victims.

I absolutely love this series with all of my heart and I have been a HUGE fan of it since around August 2022. I love the lore, the characters and the atmosphere of this series.

When I heard these news on Twitter last night, I was devastated and I wanted to cry so bad because I had thought Alex Kister was an amazing talented person with a golden thumb of kindness and chillness. I began to think to myself, “Why would Alex Kister and every other content creator turn out to be horrible people?”. It’s like this is a fucking trend in every creator of their amazing work.

I am witnessing so many fans quitting their work of the series and many actors such as Ty Osborne departing from his acting work as Adam Murray. And I can definitely understand that.

What even more sucks is that there may be no more Mandela Catalogue. Which means no more Vol. 5 or Vol. 6 or any other extra episodes to dive in the lore…

I vented to my sister about this and she understood everything about this situation and that she had been through this once before (props to you, Ella). As a result, she gave me such helpful advice about this. She told me to continue loving the series just as long as you understand and acknowledge what the creator has done. But don’t focus too much on the creator, focus more on the series.

And to all of you victims that have been through this, I am deeply sorry that that has happened to you. You are loved by the entire world and you are never alone.

That being said, I wanna make a decision. I still love the series with all of my heart and I wanna continue writing the Mandela Catalogue Mirth series on Wattpad and post all of my Mandela Catalogue Mirth chapters here in Tumblr.

But with this situation in mind, this decision is hard to choose. Should I continue writing the book series on Wattpad and post all of my chapters here in Tumblr? Or should I just give up and move on to something else?

Your name is (Y/N). You are a 21 year old girl with a..quirky personality. You always had a cheerful friendly expression on your face. I mean, you loved to meet people and give them some sweets (mostly cookies). You were also a big hugger. No matter what kind of personality people have, you would always hug them for no apparent reason whatsoever.

You had recently moved out from your dad's house. You needed to find a good job somewhere. A job that pays well, has good management, and good workers. Luckily, you found a place that has jobs with all of the characters you expected.

Mandela County.

You had heard about this county before. The county is currently in a deadly situation causing danger towards people's lives. And that deadly situation is..

Alternates.

You remembered that you learned about Alternates and that they are dangerous creatures that will inflict death onto you. Knowing you though, you always believed that people, dangerous or not, always have good inside of their hearts. You believed that every single person in the entire world, regardless if they are human or not, have a piece of gold in their heart.

With that belief, you wanted to be friendly to those Alternates. So you decided, 'Screw it. I'm gonna move to Mandela County.'

So you moved to the county. And let's just say that you weren't expecting the county to be so..gray and dull. That was weird. You had never seen a place that has the colors of an abandoned city. You assumed the Alternates were causing the gray and dull colors to appear. But oh well, you dealt with gray and dull before. Like I said...

As you moved into the neighborhood, it was even more dull and gray. There was nobody walking, so the entire neighborhood looked all empty. Now you were getting concerned about the people in the neighborhood. You hoped that the Alternates did not hurt them. You didn't even met them before but your selfless instincts were kicking it. You decided to check on them.

After setting your stuff down at your new home, you went to a nearby house. You rang the doorbell, nobody answered. Huh, that was weird. You were confused. Maybe they went out? You went into another house.

You rang the doorbell and knocked on the door. No response. 'Okay, maybe they went out as well.' you thought. You walked to another house

Ding Dong! No response.

Ding Dong! At this rate, you became more concerned for this neighborhood.

At this point, you became worried. Why was nobody responding? Is this a busy neighborhood? Wait..What if the Alternates already killed your neighbors!? Maybe the Alternates were more deadly than you thought. You decided to walk back home for your safety.

As you were walking back home, you found a dark haired man wearing a suit walking to his house. You were surprised to see him. 'Maybe he might be part of my neighborhood!' you thought. You went into friendly mode and decided to meet him and ask about this neighborhood. You walked up to him.

"Hi! My name is (Y/N) (L/N)! So nice to meet you! I am new here in Mandela County so..How are you?" You said with a cheerful tone, sticking your hand out. The dark haired man looked at her confused.

"Um, hi. My name is Cesar Torres." He said hesitantly as he shakes your hand.

"Well..I'm sure you'll enjoy this place." The man said with a calm expression. It had taken you by surprise but you didn't care.

"Uh heh yeah uh quick ol' question..What the heck happened to everyone in this neighborhood!?" You shouted at Cesar a little bit.

"Calm down, ma'am. They are alright. They are hiding from..inconveniences." Cesar said with a pause there. "Inconveniences?" You said, confused.

"Yes. The inconveniences around here are..not as important as you think. So do not worry..about them." He said with a couple pauses.

"Um..okay?" You responded with a nervous smile on your face. Cesar walked past you with a monotone expression on his face. You were still confused at his answer. I mean..Inconveniences? What kind of inconveniences. The alternates perhaps? Maybe it couldn't be the Alternates. I mean like he said, the inconveniences are not really important as the alternates were. You were still having that bit of confusion, but you proceeded to go home. You needed to be ready for getting hired tomorrow.

~next day~

You woke up with a good mood, as you were ready to earn that job as a cafe worker. You got up from your bed, took a shower, ate breakfast, and prepared your belongings. You went outside, excited and happy despite the boring colors of the neighborhood and drove off to the cafe for your job.

After driving for a bit, you realized that you needed gas. Fortunately, you found a nearby gas station with some people in it.

As you refilled your car with gas, you noticed that it has suddenly become awfully quiet. Weird. At first, you saw people walking with groceries but then next, it's like they all vanished into thin air. So what's going on?

As you patiently waited for your car to get finished, suddenly, a black shadowy figure with white eyes jumped down right in front of you, startling you. You stared at it with wide eyes as it stared at you back with those unsettling eyes. It was whispering something to you. Normally, when people see this creature, they would be scared, shocked, and would run away. However, you uh-

You then noticed your car was finally full of gas. Well, time to say goodbye to this weirdo. "Heh, sorry dude. I gotta go get my job now." You said with a kind expression. You removed the nozzle off your car and you get inside your vehicle. The creature walked towards you.

You rolled down your window, forgetting something. "Oh, I forgot! Here's a cookie!" You pulled out a chocolate chip cookie and gave it to the creature.

The creature was left there, standing completely idle with the cookie in his hand. He had an expression that basically said, 'What?'
