I’m curious, how is everyone else viewing the passage of time between act 1 and the very end act 3? 1-2 weeks? 6 months? A year? In my head I imagine that their adventure was maybe 4-5 months long? I suppose it chalks up to how many long rests you take but idk!

Mods + GOG galaxy

Is anyone else having issues with mods using a copy bought from GOG? I’ve tried both vortex and the bg3 mod manager and when I go to play I keep getting “data mismatch error” along with a small warning from Larian about corrupting the game. I’ve looked on a ton of old posts on other sites and the most popular takeaway is that the game will run fine, it’s just a safety net for Larian and users until they have mod support. A different takeaway is to verify or delete certain mod files, which I’ve done. But no luck! What about y’all?

A Gale thought…and thoughts about Bg3 as a whole (spoilers, so throwing below a cut)

A lot of people have summed up Gale as this obsessed weirdo that thirsts after TAV but…if you haven’t been romantic towards him, when he sends his little magic copy to invite you to the meadow, he makes no advances, and he sincerely asks you to be there as a friend, but a lot of players know the romantic route and assume that’s what it’ll be. Yeah Gale is….a lot™️ but it reminds me how Larian said they wanted the companion relationships to be true to real relationships and I just think it’s neat that me, the player had to check myself and realize “oh, he just wants a friend”. I like Gale, but there’s a lot going on with him that I think makes it harder for me to choose where to place him in relation to my character.

Each character is written in a really complex way that makes romancing or even just befriending a challenge. Sometimes I think what I’m saying will be the right thing, and it’s not. Each companion is definitely an archetype, but the writing really considered their personal stories and how things effect them vs just having a generic stock personality. Even putting the slip on enemies is a challenge. I just really appreciate having a game where I have to think and really consider my words and actions because it really does take time and attention to grow relationships. It’s also just fun to see each companions thoughts on each other you know? There’s a lot I’m hoping for in future updates but damn I love this game

I think it’s pretty fun running through the game with my original TAV, but I’ve also had fun thinking of save files specifically to romance each character and try out each class. They’re all simple but I have them beneath the cut!

Right now I’m playing the dark urge story as a human fighter to romance as Astarion. I was imagining it as “vampire monster with a slowly softening heart, falls for human who is absolutely vile and wretched on the inside” will she overcome the urge or give in ? Haven’t decided yet

I’d love to make a githyanki or a high elf selunite cleric to romance Shadowheart. I think it would create a challenge for gaining approval and make for a sweet slow burn or enemies to lovers

I love the idea of a 💖baby girl💖 half drow half human monk who just wants to protect Karlach and keep her from ever having to run or fight again. I think her drow lineage would be Lolth followers, but she suppressed the spider queen’s pull on her mind.

When I think of Wyll I think of pairing him with a strong, confident, sensual tiefling. She’s not ashamed of who she is and will get him out of his head. I think there’d be a lot of tension but it’d be a “ugh they drive me crazy but why are they so distracting ugh so annoying” kind of vibe

I haven’t entirely convinced myself yet but I think a fellow wizard would be perfect for Gale. But also a dragon born wizard. I could imagine Gale being very overzealous and fascinated by her magic and affinity to channel the weave. She’s definitely smarter than him and better at magic but I’d see it as a friendly competition thing. She’s more interested in learning all about the magic her bloodline holds, but he notices how beautiful her scales are in each kind of light 👀

Just a 👌🏾pinch of angst/heavy feelings

-His heightened senses could detect the changes in your body before you even knew. He’d be reeling with conflict. This wasn’t supposed to happen at all. It was one thing dipping his hands into keeping the multiverse balanced, but he thought he’d have better sense and control with you. He felt a pang of joy at the chance to have a family, but it fluttered away, as he felt as if he was betraying the memory of his old life with his wife and child.

-This was definitely unplanned. You all had just been two desperate people, sharing comforts from his heavy burden of keeping universe together, and your nonstop life you just needed a break from. Slowly, you did start to care for each other in unspoken ways. Warm blankets left on you while you slept, cooked post mission meals left in the fridge for him. You were no longer just strangers, but no where even near people who had it in their hearts to be parents together.

-He probably would go MIA from the…relationship? for a handful of weeks until Jess and Peter gave him a talking to, parents to parent. In the meantime, you carried on as normal the best you could. You were weighing out what to do with the baby. At the least, you wanted him to know, whatever your choice was. You’d grown a little fond of the barely noticeable yet growing curve of your stomach. It was Miguel’s child after all. The L word had come to mind every now and again. You didn’t dislike Miguel, but you liked him much much more than a sex friend. A lot more. And you missed him.

-The first time you see each other again he’d be distanced, keeping back a few feet. He was considering how much of his spider DNA would affect the child. Would you have an easy pregnancy? How could he be there for you if he had anomalies to keep in check? Would he fall more in love with you and the child, only to have the both of you snatched from him? How could he do this to you?

-quieting his thoughts, you’d nervously guide his hand to your belly, and his eyes would well up with overwhelmed tears. He’d been a father before , but but he wasn’t ready, and he was scared. But he knew he had to keep moving forward. It was his courage and pride of a maybe parent to be that pushed him to put his other hand on the back of your head, gently pulling you into a tight hug.

-you’d spend the rest of the evening in bed, holding each other and quietly talking, occasionally sharing shared some heated “I missed you” kisses. There was much to discuss, and many questions to be answered, but at the moment it was just the two of you taking comfort in each other again.

Thinking about Miguel having 50% spider DNA and thinking about how much of him going feral about Miles was him as a spider, trying to tack down it’s prey. Like how much of him drives on instinct. Mixed with the trauma of losing family, yeah, I’d be running around on all fours too.

Gosh I know I’m SO late to the party but I started Blood and Ash on a whim and am now in the middle of crown of gilded bones. I’m enjoying it and already have fancasted in my mind for Poppy and Casteel. When I have time I really want to draw them using these actors as reference so others can see “the vision™️”. These choices are entirely based of my personal interpretation and who I thought fit my imagination the most. I thought of Erin Kellyman and Charles Melton! I’ve only seen Erin’s roles in star wars, and captain America, but each time she’s a determined badass. I’ve never seen Charles in anything but l o o k at him. Very excited to make fan art , stay tuned 👁️👄👁️
